Three-dimensional graphs are a way to represent functions with a two-dimensional input and a one-dimensional output.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. As x is more than 0, that means that the parabloid isn't flattened, but as it is less than 1, it becomes smaller (the outputs), so therefore, all values of z decrease. Hence, my answer is b

Would this give the same output as the integral from 0 to infinity of x^2 rotated around the y-axis or is it coincidental that they look almost identical?
@civic2980
@civic2980 2 года назад
Really long time ago but .... the graph looks exactly like x² rotated around the y axis. But the integral would give the area under the curve of x² and with your bounds .... only the right half. Could be wrong though im just a calc student like the rest of us. ( calc 3 now)

This guy is lying. If you have a three dimensional graph of an equation, it will give you a line/graph, nonetheless, not a 3D shape. I would know: I'm a game production major (in 3D, animation) and a former physics major. But, nobody will care, mostly because this probably didn't deserve any purpose, to my knowledge.
@startuckval5198
@startuckval5198 3 года назад
Dude you didn't include the context of different dimensional inputs. You refer to a 2 dimensional input, (x,y), to give a 2d shape, which you are right on, but when the third variable z is another input to the multivariable function, the cone like 3d parabola he showed was true. Also keep in mind you may be confused with vectors and in Calculus you need to remember that surfaces and areas can have fluctuating values. For example a rational function may have some weird oscillations and so the area under is measured by lim h->infinity of the riemann sum of the approximations under the curve.
@senam23
@senam23 3 года назад
@@startuckval5198 Nice try!! But, you're the only one confused about anything, not me. Give it a rest. I know what a graph looks like, 2D or 3D. I don't make mistakes when it comes to this stuff.
