Hey everyone Isaac here from Brooklyn Kayak Company. I'm standing in front of our brand new 10ft flipper pedal kayak. Its got the pump action flipper drive... and let me run you down some of the specifications on this kayak.
First off, this pedal kayak is 10 feet in length, it's 33 ¼” wide and 14” deep. It has a weight capacity of 350lb and a dry weight of about 60 pounds. Let me go ahead and run you down some of the features starting here in the top. In the front of the kayak:
- You have your standard drain plug
- You have your super comfort T-handle
- You have a front storage area here which is a self-draining front storage and a bungee tie down system
Moving down to the middle of the kayak, you have your flipper pedal drive system which easily just drops into place and you're ready to go.
- On each side of the kayak you have an accessory rail to hook up anything from phone holders, cup holders, etc.
- In addition, on the right side of the kayak you have your paddle park system (real nice groove paddle just falls into place)
- Right next to that you have your cup holder
- On the left side of the kayak here you have your rudder handle
- Real simple setup for the seat just drops right into place
- The pedals are the actual adjustments so it's a little bit different for us on the flipper drive, you adjust the pedals not the seat
- You have your round hatch with dry storage bag
- You have two side carry handles
Moving down to the rear of the kayak:
- You have two flush mounted rod holders
- Nice large storage area with drain plugs for very important Water Management
- You have the rear handle super comfort T- grip
- Another great feature we added is under-handle grabs - so just think about how useful that's going to come in when you're trying to launch your boat
- Another great feature we added for this year is the drop-down rudder system. Before on our pedal kayak we had a flush mounted rudder…right now, you'll get a much better turning radius - really wide rudder paddle and it's just really worked out really well
