We spent a lot of time going through the clade Spiralia, as it contains many phyla, but with that complete it's time to move on to its sister clade, Ecdysozoa, the other large category of protostomes. This clade contains most of all the animals on Earth, mainly due to containing the phylum Arthropoda, which is the most diverse phylum of all. What are the features that unite these phyla? What defines Ecdysozoa? Let's find out!

Really excited to see the series has arrived at this group. I am curious how in-depth you plan to go with the Arthropods seeing as how diverse their clade gets. If it is going to still be just one vid for them or if you will do a multi-parter in order to spotlight a bunch of the different clades.

@@ProfessorDaveExplainsReally? I'm so excited to see that!! I love arthropods, they're what me the happiest in this world, after my girlfriend. These critters are so interesting yet so vilified for no justified reason.

About Protostomia: From what I've heard several Protostome phyla actually undergo deuterostomic embryonic development. So while the clade is still considered valid, the name Protostomia is inaccurate. I just feel that this should be pointed out in the videos. The diversity of embryonic development makes me wonder if the one-way gut evolved multiple times within this clade. Do you know which "Protostomes" undergo deuterostomic development? I know that Priapulids do, but I'm not sure if there are more.

Hello, Dave. I enjoy your work as a scientist. I still can’t believe people still believe the earth is flat! I think they thought or a larger group of people beloved it in the 17th century? I believe in evolution. But I am a Christian. I believe there can be both. You can believe in evolution and still believe we can belive in a creator. If you keep going back in time, before the Big Bang. And there must be a time ,way back I which scientist don’t know what was. Some will say nothing ? But I believe in God and Christ . I just know the Bible was written over a lot of years. So some parts could definitely be lost in translation. Or just wrong. I don’t think Adam and Eave didn’t happen. I think that’s a story about human nature , or just a story to not let bad or evil into your life . I like the book of Matthew. About love for family and forgiveness. But I do believe in evolution. I I am a neurologist and a neurosurgeon. I also am a medical researcher as most doctors and surgeons must keep up with the latest diseases and procedures to get rid of them. I have started work, then was just called virology and medical biology and some physics so I can understand, and have faith in evolution as well as in. God.
