5:47 625 x 825 mile is the main map. I did a comparison of the Area Map of that main Harn Continent and discovered its about the size of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and parts of Western Montana Northern Cali, British Columbia.
Own and love the game. Got in on it from the very beginning. In fact, we just started a new campaign at the Guthe Bridge. Would definitely recommend. It's great to be able to create your own spells, machinations, and king making in Kaldor.
I Just discovered Harn and am interested. The site says that thousands of people play it but I can find no games looking for players online or IRL. Can someone tell me if there is a web site or forum that is actually active? Ive been to the official site which seems to be dead and there was a post directing people to another forum which is practically inactive as well.
How hard would it be to turn the gods into Catholic-like Saints, and have them all part of a unified Monotheistic Religion more akin to the 13th century Catholic Church?
I would suggest Chaosium's Basic Roleplaying Universal Game Engine. It is d100% based, similar to Harnmaster, but far more flexible. You have a lot of control over what rules/mechanics you want to bring to the table. Dial up, or down, the complexity. Dial up, or down, the fantasy elements. Harn is one of the greatest settings of all time.
I'm using Mythras! It was actually RuneQuest 6e before some licensing issues. In any case I think it's the very best version of BRP (which is what dickskull there was talking about) for games like this. Really I think it's just the best version of BRP for any game.
