I really want to take Korean Learning seriously but I heard you learn better with an actual Korean Friend that would speak to you. Unforteunately I don't have any korean friends.
@MissMozzie1

I've found an app called Hello Talk that can help with that. You can talk to people that speak the language you're learning, and want to learn your native language, so you can kinda trade off and help each other. It's pretty cool :)

King Bigmac oh I’m just saying because Korea has formal and informal words. They are used based on who you are talking to like an adult,elderly person,family etc. So 고마워요 would be formal. 감사합니다 is some-what formal but it is respectful. And 고마다 is informal

What's the literal meaning of 실례합니다? It is used to convey the meaning of the word ' Excuse me' in English. But like Anneyonghaseyo is used for 'Hi' or 'Hey', but literally it means to 'Be at Peace' or to 'Do Peace'. Similarly what does Sillyehamnida mean ?

Looking at your play list I don't know where to start as a complete beginner I would like to learn the alphabet and beginner starter sentences before moving on to comprehension and listing practice, if I don't learn the meaning of the words I won't be able to understand what is being written or said

What is the difference between 고마워요 and 고맙습니다? I’ve seen that they both mean “thank you”, but when do you use them? When is it appropriate to use each one? I Googled it but I haven’t found anything yet.

Gomawoyo is kind of an informal word but the other one is Formal like when u r talking to an old person or lika at office, u can use gomawoyo with people who r a bit older then u(not too much). Hope this helps.

is there a difference of north Korean and south Korean language? I've usually used "gamsahabnida" for thank you..
@justinburton249
@justinburton249 8 лет назад
It is more of a dialect with good but not perfect intelligability. That version of thank you also exists in South Korea. Suffice it to say that pretty much all resources with teach you South Korean Korean.

@ReverendRichardHaahr

it is to keep the pattern. so 은 is used if the word ends with a consonant to keep a consonant-vowel-consonant pattern going. so the other ending is for if the word ended with a vowel instead

Of course, there are some rules they don't go into in these videos. Which makes sense, since they are simple, short, introductory things. With that said, I don't know the rules myself, but I recognize they are not being disclosed just yet.

Kithmini Jayawardena its just like "a" and "an" in English. the only difference is that we look at the letter that came before, not the one that will come after

Both speak korean, but because the countries been separated a long time ago, the languages grow apart. A north korean can't understand about 50% South Korean words.

Lulu Luuu basically Japan ruled the whole Korea from 1910 'till the Second World War. And then Soviet (Communism) troops occupied the area north and US (Democracy) troops the south.

I swear, this guy changes his prononciationg depending on the lesson. He really sounds like he pronounces Ko insteand go and Ho instead of wo. It's really annoying. Same with the roman letter "j" in the last lesson which he prounounced like a hard G... I love that there is a series online to learn korean, but this is really annoying if we are to learn the language properly.
