Robo' tnk s for your channel. I made a aquarium controler with lights on off, uv filter on off automatic, and a 3 th relay just in case , feeder 3 times on day , and that was possible because of u . I will make a video with it, and u will be well mentioned. Love u man .

Thank you. I am working on it. It is coming. One video to change direction of rotation using 1 button and 1 stop. Another video 3 buttons CW, CCW and Stop.

How do you do this if you want to use an external power supply? Like if you want to power the motor with a battery pack? Do I need to ground the battery pack through the arduino ground pin?

Plug the power source to VCC and the ground pins of the chip to the ground of the power source. If you are using an external power source to power a component never ground it to an Arduino; grounding a high voltage to an Arduino can cause damage.

For external source, remove the PIN 8 of the chip from VCC and connect your power supply up to 36V to pin 8 Keep the GND to arduino and connect your power supply to the GND. So Arduino and your power supply must have common Ground (GND) otherwise motor will not work. I have explained this at 14:30. @Adam Walker, without common ground, the motor will not move.

@@robojax Yes, im pretty sure that the code defines the three extra pins for the second motor, but I don't think it shows how to wire the second one.

Can I use l293d to control position of dc motor with a potentiometer?

Position of DC motor can't be controlled unless you use high resolution motor encoder. Encoder is attached to the shaft of motor and as motor rotates, in 360 degrees, using encoder and Arduino we know where it is. Stepper is the best solution and here are my videos on stepper ru-vid.comsearch?query=stepper

How many l293d can be added with Arduino uno

you got 12 digital pin with UNO, now count how many is needed. I would have to watch the video to see how many pins used. You watch and cound the digital pins. Do not count the VCC (5V) and Ground because you can share the 5V and GND with other L293D chips.

your question is very vague. time means clock or time mean just in a moment like in 5 seconds from 0% to 100% speed? if that is the case then it is very easy. you have leaned how to control the speed. just write a loop (for loop) which goes from 0 to 100 in increment of 10 (for example) so it will go 0, 10, 20, 30....100 and then pass this increment value into the speed control. I did all connections correct. My ic is correct and motor too.But only one motor is running why is it so...

you must be done something wrong. Or the L293D is bad. Check the wiring. Remove them and put them one by one again.
