Point of care ultrasound/bedside ultrasound for clinicians illustrated by ultrasound expert and ED physician, Joshua Jacquet, MD. This is a sample from the video series at www.medcram.com/courses/clini...
This video includes an introduction to the clinical ultrasound course and the physics of ultrasound waves.
Bedside ultrasound continues to grow in popularity among clinicians...and for good reason.
Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) often makes diagnosing medical problems & performing procedures faster, safer, & more cost-effective.
Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, technicians & other professionals can benefit from ultrasound in almost every medical setting & specialty
Ultrasound that is performed by the clinician, at the bedside, is called many names: clinical ultrasound, bedside ultrasound, & point of care ultrasound (POCUS).
MedCram.com Instructor & Ultrasound expert Dr. Jacquet illustrates a key skill in this video: How to orient the ultrasound probe with what is seen on screen and understand the associated imaging planes.

MedCram = More understanding in less time
Medical education topics explained clearly including: Respiratory lectures such as Asthma and COPD. Renal lectures on Acute Renal Failure, Urinalysis, and The Adrenal Gland. Internal medicine videos on Oxygen Hemoglobin Dissociation Curve / Oxyhemoglobin Curve and Medical Acid Base. A growing library on critical care topics such as Shock, Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), aortic stenosis, and Mechanical Ventilation. Cardiology videos on Hypertension, ECG / EKG Interpretation, and heart failure. VQ Mismatch and Hyponatremia lectures have been popular among medical students and physicians. The Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) videos and Ventilator-associated pneumonia lectures have been particularly popular with RTs. NPs and PAs have provided great feedback on Pneumonia Treatment and Liver Function Tests among many others. Mechanical ventilation for nursing and the emergency & critical care RN course is available at MedCram.com. Dr. Jacquet teaches our EFAST exam tutorial, lung sonography & bedside ultrasound courses. Many nursing students have found the Asthma and shock lectures very helpful. Look for more videos on point of care ultrasound (POCUS), diagnostic medical sonography (ideal for sonosite), portable ultrasound, and ultrasound medical imaging, in addition to other radiology lectures.
Recommended Audience - Clinicians and medical students including physicians (MD and DO), nurse practitioners (NPs) , physician assistants (PAs), nurses (RNs), respiratory therapists (RTs), EMT and paramedics, and other clinicians. Review and test prep for USMLE, MCAT, PANCE, NCLEX, NAPLEX, NBDE, RN, RT, MD, DO, PA, NP school and board examinations. Continuing Medical Education (CME), MOC Points, CEU / CEs for medical professionals.

Small correction...A sound wave is a sine wave...if its has Sinusoidal pattern plotting of 2 dimensionally (pressure) vs. Time....otherwise great video - RN student and Former Engineer.

To my understanding amplitude is from the middle of the wave to either the peak or trough. Please correct me if I'm wrong. According to your video, it says from peak to the trough. Thank you for your videos

Another way to explain the relationship between frequency and penetrance: low frequency means having a longer wavelength and thus more energy and focus therefore producing a larger penetrance. Whereas, high frequency means having a smaller wavelength and less energy and focus..and less penetrance.

By focus I mean that it isn't scattered.
