This channel!!! Just WOW! Came here for the nostalgia trip and to reminisce! So many skipped classes in order to party! (STAY IN SCHOOL PEOPLE! Partying is overrated)! This was my go to channel to catch up on math, statistics and all things finance before an exam! The way the subject was always presented and explained......... lets just say,..... it peaked my interest much more, than was actually necessary for the exam! You guys are a treasure! Thank you for everything!

I'm taking my first ECON class ever, and the interest (using the example above) was represented as (1+.005) as opposed to 1.05. Because of the way the information is laid out in my required reading (and the fact that I'm stupid), I was manually doing 100/1+.005, instead of 100/1.05... Thanks for breaking this down.

one thing about taking the money after one year is the opportunity costs which will the money work within one year as to a guaranteed increase within a year

So basically, if you are offered $105 dollars today or $110 dollars next year, you should take the $105 dollars today, invest it in a risk-free asset such as treasury bond that will give you 5% yield And you will end up with more than $110 the next year

The reality is -- $100 is still the better choice. Im not waiting 1 year for a mere $10 increase. I'd wait for 1 year if the pay off is actually substantial for -- lets say....$1,000. Then I'd wait for 1 year.
