Barely starting my tuning journey, been a diesel tech for 15 years and ready to move on from diag and repair , to performance which the reason I started working on cars in the first place. I have become a vip member and the info is priceless, now I see what Winols is capable of and it pretty mind blowing on what can be done. Thanks guys!
WinOLS you have to buy the software plus your communicator, which ever it may be there are a couple out there, total cost to get set up estimate 2/3k +- as for best version I’m sure the latest is probably the recommended one.
Millon thanks for you guys.. I finally get some kind of an idea how that software should be used.. Going to use this info thaks a lot..🙏 Sadly, I know that this is not going to be one of those videos that gets a lot of views, but this so precious for us who are going to really use this info.. Love and really appreciative your work.. 🙏😃
Cheers mate! So long this is ticking the right boxes for people like yourself it's doing its intended job. Wouldn't turn away 1 million views on a WinOLS video but certainly not what we're chasing here 🤘 If you haven't heard it yet this is a podcast episode that I believe will also have some helpful information for you, and there is a bit more WinOLS based content on the channel and our website too - Taz. www.hpacademy.com/blog/061-tune-any-factory-ecu-podcast/?
You need a bit of a guide for the patterns, as well as some translations for any abbreviations: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjudGU1UQow.htmlsi=WIZ9px8-5Zy-SGnJ&t=750 That is all covered in the course, otherwise, you can hunt them down around the internet too I'm sure remembering late model applications will have less info out there vs older ones - Taz.
It is the gold standard in this area of the market for good reason. There are pros and cons to it and all other options. You can check out other software like ECM Titanium, Bitbox/Bitedit, Dimsport, Swiftec, TunerPro and more noting they are far from the same things with different price tags. Some people even use a mix of options for different reasons/applications. Our course material is really only going to help you with WinOLS and that is what we have tailored it to just to be clear. This is a bit different from the crossover you will see on the turning side of things between the likes of HP Tuners, COBB and EFI Live etc - Taz.
@@hpa101 Taz thank you for the information. I will check out those options. Watching this video sparked my inner software engineer to want to tinker with the binary files.
If you want DAMOS files etc we do sell them. They are ready to go, as in everything is you need to use is labelled for you to dive in and start tuning rather than half finished like 99% you purchase are. That is just an option for those that don't want to do the work themselves, which we also teach. Two different skill sets. You can find both course, map packs and WinOLS itself here noting we are still developing the website for the latter two and there will be a few back and forth emails to to get you sorted on that rather than being fully automated just yet: www.hpacademy.com/winols/ That is for petrol vehicles, the diesel example is still on the way. Hope that helps! It's hard to filter out fresh replies here with the way YT is setup so feel free to get in touch via email if you have any follow up questions: support@hpacademy.com - Taz.
hi, what about maps from other brands differents of BOSCH (i mean delphi, siemems etc), are they similar to the bosch ones or are really diferents? than you
Hello mate , WinOLS 5 have expiration after 1 year if you didn't renew your subscription ? and it is a unlimited credits ? i mean if you remap many times is it okay ? or it have a limit and needs to renew your license again ? thanks mate 🙂
The license isn't yearly, you own that version of the software and any of the bug fixes and minor updates. It excludes major updates, so say they bring out WinOLS 6, you wouldn't get a license to that. Credits are used to purchase map packs. They are not unlimited. You are paying for others to do the work for you when you are using credits. When you do pay for a file using credits, you can use it and adjust it as many times as you like. WinOLS advantage over something like COBB, HP Tuners of EFI Live is in this aspect, it suits people who will be doing bulk tuning, especially for the same or similar models. Alternatively it's free to get the base file from the vehicle you are working on and do the work yourself noting you do still need an interface between WinOLS and the vehicle and there are various options for that at various prices. Hope that helps! WinOLS is a very powerful software option compared to some, but it does come with catches that don't always suit every and anyone wanting to tune especially if they're not commercial users/tuners - Taz
We have content that will apply to those noting they are standalone ECUs. They are nothing like WinOLS. The MS3/MegaSquirt content even uses the same software you do with your Speeduino, you will just have less features but the core tuning knowledge you need to learn and understand is the same 😎 A lot of people get a bit focused on the specific brand of ECU with standalone tuning not realising the principles are the same. This is worth a watch for you remember that fact: www.hpacademy.com/free-tuning-lessons/? Using WinOLS to define maps within an OEM ECU like we are here though, is entirely different. You don't even need to necessarily know how to tune to use the skillset featured in this specific video. Hope that helps! - Taz.
There is no such thing as OEM software unless you work for the OEM and are doing OEM tuning. In that case, you wouldn't be tuning the car for aftermarket performance/modifications anyway. You are not wrong to say this isn't 'easy' compared to a (good) commercial reflash tuning option, however, they don't support every single vehicle (as in you don't always have that as an option depending on what you are tuning) - Taz. www.hpacademy.com/technical-articles/what-is-reflashing/?
