So... I've got conflicting feelings for the InuYasha series. I just finished watching season 7, and am now in the middle of season 8 which is the final act I believe, and I was gonna wait to finish everything including the movies before making any tribute videos because that's what I normally do and it's logical, but I'm not sure if I can continue.... I may or I may not, who knows... I really liked the first 2 seasons, especially season 1 because it was well balanced and didn't have too big a cast and mostly focused on InuYasha and kagome, but I quickly got tired of characters like Naraku and Kikyo, I mean I was expecting Naraku to be defeated by seasons 1 or 2, at latest 3, but OMG I'm now on the final act which I think is season 8 and HE'S STILL the main villain, I personally think it would have been better to have had a new overarching villain every season or every few seasons but that's just not what the writer's did, and as for Kikyo, I'm sorry but I HATE HER, she was fine in season 1 but she truly had no purpose to stay in the show afterwards and that's another huge flaw with this show, I know it was probably targeted for kids (maybe?) but they should've killed off more main or important characters to add tension and stakes, for example: Kikyo's arc ended in season 1 in my opinion, Naraku should've died in season 2 or 3, Kohaku should've died by 4 or 5, I don't know why Kagura got so much screen time and stayed alive until the final act, Kaede was fine but irrelevant after season 1 so she could've been killed off to add tension or stakes, etc, those are the ones at the top of my head but you get the idea, I just feel like this show had great potential but fell in a loop of repetitiveness, they kept doing the same thing over and over again with the characters and storylines so I found myself getting annoyed. I think I touched base on all the main reasons I'm a bit tired of this show, but other smaller things like the fact that Sesshomaru apparently has a thing for Rin and I believe they end up together romantically is a bit creepy and gross to me considering she was a literal CHILD when she met him and he practically raised her as a daughter of sorts, so yeah, that was weird to me, and they could've done countless great side arcs/storylines like 'B' plots in Kagome's era involving InuYasha but they barely did much of anything, like a couple episodes a season you'll see her return home, and InuYasha might show up after her, but then he doesn't really do anything except like talk to her, but it could've been so much better to add drama or suspense earlier on with her family, friends, Hojo, the idea of exposure, or even more episodes like 01x12 where the feudal era comes into present day and InuYasha helps Kagome, and I found that in season 1 especially, Kagome was actually quite smart and helpful compared to how damsel in distress she is in later seasons, like early on she used her brain to get out of tough situations and even helped/save InuYasha, but later on that's barely seen, I mean yeah she uses a bow later on but not her brains, which sucks if you ask me. ugh, sorry for the long rant, that's all. Oh, by the way, did I mention this was my very first anime video? Hope you liked it.
