Enjoyed watching the results of your upgrades. Not all of us can afford a $10k to $20k CNC machine for our hobbies (and remain married), so it's fun to see what people are doing to push their X-Carves a bit further. I've been thinking of getting some plate aluminum and have my current X-Carve cut the shapes out for frame stiffeners and taller y-axis braces. I'd like to also replace the belts with ball screws and replace the wheels with slide rails. Eventually, anyhow. :) Anyhow, hope to see you post more stuff.
The reason why it cut that way was because you used shapes and cut them to make your project. It saw them as individual cuts needed to rejoin the cut sections and make the outside while. That is also why it calculated the cut to take 15mins it figured in all the extra moves. If it was solid it would have taken only 2-3 minutes at normal speed.
I was running my machine this fast before the upgrade. I want to see what it does now. I just finished last night but didn't have the time to make a cut.
@@BigCountrysWay my new machines will come with those upgrades already, i mean do i have to do the leveling of spoil board and input those commands in.
You been able to find any feed/depth guidance on the upgraded setup? Finished my setup the other night, haven't tested it yet but it never hurts to lean on the insights of others who have dialed it in.
I haven’t really dug deep but I am pretty sure Inventables made easel know if you had the upgrade or not and it adjusts your speeds and depths automatically
@@BigCountrysWay id considered that might have been a possibility. I'll have to take a look on my first test and see if the settings are different. Appreciate the reply and content you made in this upgrade
@@kentg86 No problem boss, thanks for tuning in! All I know is that it seems to carve faster and when the carve is complete, easel asks if you enjoyed the updated settings as if they're taking surveys in order to get the best settings for the upgrade.
