I mean if he wants to make a massive impact in the world, submitting this to the public domain would be significantly better than patenting it and probably letting it rot away when the company doesn't work out lol
This is an old design which was in stores in the 90s. They removed them because it was too expensive compared to the cheap hangers. But I still have some in my closet.

@@joeycampbell940 It just depends what you have in your closet. Hangers for pants/skirts, for normal shirts, some knits and heavier or delicate fabrics need to be hung a certain way, tank tops and straps need those notches on the hanger, really heavy articles which requires a more sturdy hanger. I need to hang pretty much all of my clothes, so that's a wide variety.
@@thegendereater1751 that's insane. 5 years in dry cleaning and I've never found anything that didn't hang properly on a basic metal hanger. Sometimes we use a stretchy foam cover for delicates and thin straps (notches are far less secure) but those are a few dollars for hundreds and last many uses.
I'll be honest most of my hangers are ones I got from the stores they were hanging on (like the target and Ross ones) and they're kinda shitty lol. Maybe that's been my problem the whole time 😅

Quick life hack, you literally only need to do the top button to get a shirt to stay up, all of the others are identical to regular hangers in terms of function
This already exists. It is no longer used because it is a waste of eccess materiel. Also, if you don't want to button up your shirts every time they have hangers that are a grippy material on the shoulders to keep them from slipping

So glad this popped up. What a brilliant idea! I just looked at your website and had an idea. You could create a system for when someone purchases, they can send in their old hangers. This would reduce customer household waste and you could recycle that material for more product. Awesome invention!
This is one of those inventions that is technically a good idea, but as it requires more work and time to make use of, I doubt would ever catch on. The whole reason we hang is because it's quick and easy compared to folding and putting away. Adding an extra step so you have to hang and then put that secondary part out around the clothes to hold it in place, will make it redundant due to the extra time.
To be frank, my cloths or pants has never fallen off from a hanger. I can also put my entire outfit on a single simple design of a hanger. Other than it made from recycled material, it still a hanger.
Not to be THAT guy - but your hanger will easily be double to triple the price in materials alone. That excludes special moulds and sourcing materials (that you either have to process or pay a premium for pre-processed plastics). This one might not be the huge winner - but dont give up!!
THIS is good design I could just look at and figure out all the talking points and benifits.Thats exactly what good design is functional,simple and intuitive.
The issue is these are really expensive. The ones you showed us here are $3 a hanger! I can buy cheaper crappier hangers for 15 cents a hanger at Walmart. That means 20 Walmart hangers = 1 of your hangers in cost.
Some people appreciate functionality over price more. The cheap hangers also generally become dull /damaged or break after a while. I prefer wooden hangers, but 3 euro a hanger doesn't seem too much for a "lifetime" investment. I also hate mismatched hangers, but I do see myself buying some of these in the future.
Said this 1000×s to my kids, friends and family and it goes for EVERYTHING in my life BC LIFE IS SHORT AF: I would buy the 20 dollar flashlight ONCE, rather than 20 of the dollar ones, multiple unknown times, bc they're shit.
This is like paperclips, there’s better designs out there yet the one thats most commonly used is just so simple and cheap to produce its practically impossible to change the design

Brilliant design but maybe make the hangers available in wood, bamboo or stainless steel as well? No reasonably classy hotel or guesthouse would buy plastic hangers

@@Georg3NadaHe’s created something that combines the positive aspects of all other coat hangers while eliminating most, if not all, the downsides, while also making it efficient to manufacture and hard to break. That is something to celebrate.

First, I got 2 shorts from the fellow making fuel from plastic, and now I'm introduced to this amazing invention. I'm loving all the brilliant inventive minds of our young people.
Honestly you could probably use some wax coated high density, high strenght cardboard like material which would make them completly biodegradable but still last a few decades. The material might not be as strong as the plastic but using internal bracing (made of the material) that shouldnt be a problem. Or hell even make it out of bamboo, whicb is a relatively cheap material thay would be stronger than plastic
The issue is that there's a thing called planned obsolescence. The problem, is that companies figure out that after becoming extremely successful, they start losing profit to the point they can no longer sustain the company itself. So, solution? Make their product worse, so people buy it more. Lightbulbs can last forever, but we just dont do it cause there would no longer be a market in lightbulbs. That's the issue. If you want to have a sustainable company, your product needs to break, which is extremely unfortunate
Next time you might even invent the wheel. I believe you if you say this is different somehow, but it's functionally the same as hangers my grandma got sometime between 1930 and 1970. Recycled is still cool if it's eco friendly recycling not water damage type or "made with recycled materials"
The best investment ive done with clothes hangers is getting metal clothes hangers. They work amazing and will never break. The biggest issue is how slippery they are. Get hangers that will last, and wont bend if you put a heavy coat on them.
Most hangers are recyclable in theory, just not in practice. The problem is a lot of the plastic hangers aren't just made of one type of plastic which makes most plastic hangers not recyclable. Technically all metal hangers are recyclable. It's just that the machines used to recycle metal can't deal with the shape of hangers and they can cause problems with the machine so they just don't accept metal hangers but not because they're not recyclable but because It's too troublesome to recycle them.
Those look very annoying to use and fiddle around with if you have to hang up more than like 3 things. Cool that they have more utility, but I’d rather not spend any more time on laundry
The normal hanger does the same job with simpler design. Hangers are made from plastics, wood or wired can be recycled but heck, once I buy one, it stays in my closet forever, for more than 20 years, maybe until I die because it is so durable.
I got a feeling theyre like $5 a hanger compared to the dollar or less ones. The problem is while these are way better in the long run people go for the cheaper stuff to save money in the short run because theyre either short sighted or are penny pinching to save money.
This is amazing, but sadly I doubt the consumer economy we live in would readily adopt something that doesn’t need replacing every 2 months, they have great margins. I would think your best bet is Amazon until you generate enough steam to catch attention from department stores
I've seen a ton of people trying to redesign the hanger. This is an alright design. Looks extremely flimsy, and you can already get recyclable hangers very easily.
