this is a great band but in my opinion the best medley ever played and inveraray played it similar to the 78th frasers of canada world champs 1987 a band about half the size, there is a vid out there but poor quality but their music has been recorded of that time, check out their cds
@richardconnelly7141 I was there. It's impossible to compare eras, but for sure FMM and Inveraray have taken piping to a whole new level. What I heard at the weekend was Inveraray pulling away from the rest in terms of ensemble, innovation, fingerwork, technique. And if you note, SL has instilled such joy into his band, they clearly love what they are doing. And all done with a calmness and respect for each other which is beautiful to see. I was certain that Richard Parkes record would never be broken, at the weekend I heard a band, that if they continue to be managed the way they have been since their formation, could dominate for the next 15-20 years. The rest will struggle to catch up.
I love how Stuart inspired confidence and calmness in everyone by smiling counting them in….mcwhirter at it again with that opening attack…both magicians 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 congratulations on being 2024 world champions 😁
Congratulations to Stuart and the entire Inveraray out fit. What an unbelievable sound from the pipes apart from the incredible piping. What a sound from twenty feet away. The worlds was a credit to all grades of bands that participated and a huge well done to the organisers. Excellent. Congratulations to O'Toole's drum core. Brilliant result. 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🏴🏴🏴👍👍👍
Amazing medley..one of the best have heard in a long time. Very musical...everything was tight! Very well deserved win...congratulations to the band. One for the books!
Brilliant piping and drumming. Well derserved title for outstanding sound and musicality. Thank you IDPD for the music. Best scene backstage after leaving the green: Stuart with a big smile on his face. I am quite sure he knew instantly that this performance was the winner.
When I was playing ten years ago, it would have never be conceivable for a competition band to play slides/slurs and the little rapid hand movements down the chanter during the Mason’s Apron jig. I’m glad times have changed and bands are pushing the envelope.
Bloody good. Still not a patch on the RAF grade three piper we had for our wedding, but we've known her for years, and the Black Bear as a parade out is bombproof....
Piping transitions were on a different level. I wasn't a fan of the opening attack but that's personal preference. Everything else was spot on. Best Medley since Shotts First One Hundred in 2001 IMO.
Hello scott you a great piper and the videos are great i play along with your videos could you do a video on a salute to royal fendersmith and crags og tumbletown mountain thanks
would be interested to see what the judges were writing , ......when i was competing , the judges only wrote really when you done something wrong , this performance was brilliant , from the artisan intro , to the .....cant go from a strathspey to a jig myth .....well they blew that out the water , only personal disappointment was the slow aire , just personal though , .....well worthy world champions
This was Saturday. If you think this medley was amazing - the one the day before was flawless. This performance took 2nd place!!! Unreal. Boghall took 1st medley on Saturday ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5G30XvJmCME.htmlsi=hrwtbWduVmXuDuNB - but this medley is epic and they play it brilliantly. Tough to compare the two but wow. Just amazing all around.
