My feeling is, as long as they work as intended, why not? I had three divers when I dived over the years and all of them were not expensive. A Gigandet submariner homage (which I still own) for $150, a Deep Blue of $200 and a $300 Borealis. All of them saw more salt water than 99% of the "legit" brands that watch lovers will call out, but none of them ever failed me and I sold them as I left the sport. Still own divers but I don't call them tool watches (I hate the term that people who wear watches as jewelry but try to look cool by calling them a "tool watch").

Exactly. It's job is to keep time, so as long as it reliably does that... That's all that matters. That said, I do want to get at least one luxury watch in the $1k-$5k range... Not sure what yet...

Nice to hear kinder words for Invicta.

Hi Dave, love your channel, especially the motorbike and gun stuff. Being an mt10 gen 2 owner myself. But for gods sake, will you take the rear sticker of the $35 watch? It's driving me nuts. All the best from the UK. Keep the videos coming. 👍

When taking the pins out, make sure to look on the back of the link to see the direction of the arrows. Maybe you pushed the other way and they bent for this reason? 🤔 For aftermarket band, I was considering a navy blue color, as it matches the bezel a bit.

No, I made sure it was the right way. They were just really tight, and the tool I had, was hard to keep perfectly aligned, so it would shift slightly and then the pin would be pushing at a slight angle and it would bend. Finally got it done, but if I had to do it again I would get a much nicer tool...

@@SquireSCA Ah, dang. Seems to be a lemon as mine came out easy. 🤔

@@Northanteus What's weird is I have two of them and they were both like that. Perhaps they had a batch of pins that were a tiny bit out of spec, maybe a thousandth of an inch thicker, making them extra tight?

@@SquireSCA I received mine around 2 years ago and it's automatic, but I didn't think automatic would make a difference in the pins (likely not, unless the quarts and automatic are assembled in different areas with slightly different material?). Maybe it was a different batch that has that weird defect in the pins. 🤷‍♂️

Nah, that's just the internal movement... Must be a batch of bands that are just extra tight.

I do like Omega over Rolex, but that is just my taste.

I love the look of some of them, but not sure I could bring myself to spend that much. One that I have my eye on is the Tissot T-Race with the red band. Looks amazing and just under $600.
