...And a most 🦃Happy Thanksgiving🦃 to y'all, you awesome, awesomely cool reactors and commentators!! ...BtW: I've no foreknowledge as to what this Eve Special will entail, but based upon the thumbnail, it looks like my hopes and wishes about Atom Eve might come true!! ...Like I said, Eve's redonkulous powerful, if not (( according to some; _not I_ )) "too" powerful -- in gamerspeak, she be kinda 'broken' / 'busted' ...But, because of that (( in the reins of her intrinsically noble and certainly superheroic character/disposition )), as I said (?)last week(?)... next to Mark, Eve's possibly Earth's _best chance_ against not only Nolan but the rest of his fellow Viltrumite conquerors
The reveal that Eve's mom was still "alive" makes the sibling storyline even more tragic At first you think "sibling" like fellow children experimented on, but then no, they are LITERAL siblings
Nolan wasn't just fighting his instincts, he was fighting centuries of training and indoctrination. He is one of the top Viltrumite officers, not a foot soldier. He got to that position over years of service, training, and proving himself against other Viltrumites. Everything he has ever learned since birth, is about conquring other planets and expanding Viltrum's territory. When he stopped hitting Mark and flew away to space, he fought against a lifetime of Viltrumite indoctrination.
Samatha felt/scanned her siblings and the look she gave them in the photo was cellularly close to how they would have looked. (Five) who fell apart walking towards her was the youngest little girl in the photo.
Viltrumites become stronger and more powerful the older they are, its why Mark got decimated by Omni-man. Omni-man also had the advantage of growing up in a unforgiving, brutal spartan like culture for thousands of years. So you could say he knew how to fight.
@@ildarion3367 yes, not only Viltrumites get stronger as they age, but Viltrumites have an ability where if they get beaten really bad (nearly killed) and recover, they end up much stronger and more durable than they were before their injuries.
RIP Lance Reddick. He will be so missed. His acting in this episode was amazing. I still can't believe he is gone. His voice acting in animation & video games was something else. ♥️ we love you Lance
to those people who would say "we need more strong independent women on screen" only to fail doing so time-after-time-after-time, well here you go!! Samantha Eve Wilkins (aka Atom Eve), i freaking stan!! she is written amazingly!! they better take notes cause this is how its done!!
Atom Eve was born from that desire though, especially animated Eve. The comic Eve was kinda Pathetic compared to her animated counter part despite being not that stronger. Here she actually seems capable, a strong character that happens to be female not in the comics and here she's downgrade to just the lover interest who can only do things when it's plot convenient
I feel like Eve's mom is the most tragic character in the show, she doesn't know how to help Eve, she loves her so much but ultimately she has never really been a good mother to her.
She loves her but she has no clue how to relate to her and she's meek while her husband has temper and pride issues. With nobody to shut him down he spirals when confronted with anything he can't handle. Namely anything he can't understand like super powers and Eve's early childhood weirdness, and eventually her using her powers which he already doesn't like to do dangerous stuff which freaks him out even more. He sucks.
This video popping up reminded me i hadn't seen this yet haha, i quite liked it. Smart of them to have an episode for Eve but not in the middle of an invincible season because that would've just delayed the main story a bit too much
@@SaluteTheHarajuku Hurt people, hurt people. Unless they're the unrealistically noble main character type lol. Real people make mistakes and (hopefully) grow from them, like Rex.
@@SaluteTheHarajuku have you watched season 2 yet? He's about to find out what it feels like, he's like 18-19 yo. Dude has been betrayed by everyone he ever loved. Besides, I guarantee you know someone in rl who has cheated and you don't judge them half as harshly as the kid who spends his days saving lives, calm down.
I got theae guys confused with rudy at first too. But rudy was 30 years old by the time of the show and all of these came after Eve. Still could be part of some experiment but till we learn more about his past i doubt it
I don't read the comics, but it seems the underlying revelation of that final scene with Eve is just mind-blowing. She repaired her body instantaneously, although it seems to be only under great emotional stress. Does that mean as long as she can think, and if only she could get over her mental block regarding biological matter, she's functionally immortal? I could see "repairing" extended to include replacing old cells with young ones, after all. Come to think of it, if she gets a handle on that mental block, she doesn't even need to sleep or eat---she can just flush the toxin buildup with a literal snap of her fingers! 😶
8:25 I think it'll be like how people have to ignore hazards like electrical poles covered in sagging wires because people are stealing power. Just more danger to mind.
Ok I don’t see anyone else commenting on it.. but it’s definitely normal in NY for people to ask for bagels to have olive and cream cheese on them. It’s actually pretty good if your an olive fan lol
I can't wait!!! Ima be snacking on my turkey plate and watching this later!! Happy Thanksgiving to you two!! The Avatar series got me hooked!! Take care~!!!
8:15 personally i don't think the power itself scared her, I think it was more that Eve kept putting the power ball so close to her *after* she already told her to stop(ignoring a personal boundary with something genuinely harmful, basically)
As a kid I loved Cream Cheese and Olive spread on Celery. I was very texture-ly weird with food as a kid and this was one of the few hard foods I was able to eat. I still do every now and then, still love it.
7:31 first of all, although it’s not my first choice… cream cheese and olive is so common in NY, it’s just almost every single Deli in NYC. Second… I got nothing… oh and third… yeah with a toasted roll or bagel the combination is a not as popular, but common enough staple food at least here in NYC, definitely not caucaity… but definitely weird enough to warrant caution to those who are unfamiliar… also despite it not being my first choice, it’s actually pretty good when fresh… on any form of toasted bread. And with that… good evening to you all! 😂🎉😂🎉
Me in middle school with Eve as a friiend. I'm running across the street and bringing back ten one dollar bills and ask her to rearrange the ink so they are one hundred dollar bills.
@@Diegesis Cheese and olives is too much for the pallet. You need tomatoes to balance it out. I’d you’re going to actually make it, do it in peta bread (WITH GOAT CHEESE), with a couple pinches of cumin. Maybe some tea and bon appétit.
I think Eve's parents treat her that way is because they're being overprotective once your kid dies at Birth and then somehow comes back to life they're trying to protect her from almost everything
The mom isnt too bad. Shes overprotective sure, but she believed her baby died immediately after birth (which it did but as far as she knows it came back) so she has a valid reason to be. The dad though...he's not just overprotective, he's a dickhead
The sad thing about her dad is that like many abusive parents he does love Eve, but he can't be the parent she needs, he's stuck in his way and when she doesn't fit into life the way he expects her to he gets angry and even hateful.
The only thing I enjoy or get from the way Eve's parents are is also the same thing I love about everything else about this series and the comics. It lets all that real world uncomfortable poor decision making and actions soak into everything. We as the audience fully understand Eve's situation and know her backstory. As well as see her perspective on things and truly understand her feelings. Her parents don't. Which doesn't justify anything because they also don't ever really try to get it. Being the parent of someone with superpowers would be an insane mind fuck and most everyday people wouldn't have a damn clue where to begin. Obviously her parents deal with it in probably the worst way possible, whereas Debbie is a great mother to Mark. Although we will never know, it would be curious to see the type of parents they would be if Eve didn't have any superpowers.
8:21 it’s not like in My Hero Academia or DC or Marvel(depending on unique universe or time period), where superhumans are just accepted enough--in this world, most of the population is still very human, very susceptible to superpowered individuals and the fear of them and their abilities is extremely high-- which is why the Guardians was so highly praised (with Omni-Man too), because the world saw them as their only protection from bad actors with super powers, abilities or highly advanced tech. This world, at this time period, is still steeped in uncertainty, skepticism and even abject fear towards super humans, which is why(and I give no excuses to them), Sam’s parents and her friend are so opposite in reaction to what you guys expect they should be-- to them and most other humans, it’s terrifying to suddenly realize that the person next to you is so much more powerful than you, that you’re just at their mercy-- which is partly why Mark struggled with telling his Girlfriend and best friend about his powers-- despite him being who he was and the son of the formerly globally honored and loved , Omni-Man(Nolan). You kinda have to keep that in mind while you continue on in the Invincible universe, or all you’ll be is frustrated more than you need-- cuz the story just gets more and more intense and interesting as you go lol
Olive and cream cheese sandwiches are an acquired taste its old school food I'm talking great depression and before. I'm pretty sure they are from Ney York. To me at least its not bad but its not good either.
Ah, Missouri white guy, ngl I thought cream cheese and olive sandwich...thats like one ingredient away from being a GREAT dip, add some sour cream, miracle whip, paprika, celery, maybe a walnut, in a ramaken in the middle of the charcuterie board...
Could Adam Eve just die there….?I love phase Two and wish he lived…….I need another story line where he lives and works with her or she dies and he realizes his mistake and finds a way to survive by himself…..
Yeah, I get he is worried about her, but what is the point of having a daughter if he's gonna treat her like shit and not give her the love she needs and deserves
While I agree, we haven't seen her fight much. Outside of the Flaxans and Doc Seismic encounter. She did pretty good against the Flaxans until they made a plan to take her out specifically, and the Doc Seismic fight she was competent but not overwhelming. We'll have to see how she does in S2
Anyone else notice streaming shows' apparent obsessive-compulsive need to have at least one father figure that's a complete, one-note asshole with almost no build-up or reason? Case in point: Adam Wilkins. 🙄
@@rafaelhenrique4139You're just not paying attention, then, or trolling. Invincible, The Legend of Vox Machina, and apparently The Boys all have at least one.
@@JustGrowingUp84 Sorry, the only LotR movies I've seen are the Rankin/Bass ones from the '70's and '80's, and I'm kinda rusty on a lot of that lore aside from The Hobbit. The Peter Jackson films are definitely on my to-watch list, though.
@@JustGrowingUp84 But to your main point, I get that it's a trope, and I don't mind seeing asshole characters, but why have such one-note ones like Mr. Watkins? Invincible and Vox Machina are generally written well enough that those characters could really be more layered than that.
Nah I’d definitely rather have the viltrumite powers they are way stronger than eve’s only because Eve has a blocker on her powers but there’s time where’s the blocker glitches and she goes full goddess mode if she didn’t have the blocker then I’d rather have her powers but still viltrumites are a lot stronger than Eve that’s just the lore of this universe they are they are the strongest thing in the invincible universe that’s a fact well maybe battle beast but battle beast (the cat guy) gets killed by the viltrumite emperor and gets turned into a badass fur cloak 😂 so yeah viltrumites strongest then battle beast and then Eve or maybe space racer
Honestly they're pretty unappealing and straight up look just slimy and uninviting. Kind of looks like a cum shot that was spread around instead of cleaned up.
