The voice of Erickson was Lance Reddick. He was a great actor who had many strong appearances over nearly 30 years. He passed away back in March, which was a couple of months before this was released.
29:46 In her comics right after this scene here, Atom Eve says with tears in her eyes: "For one moment I had the power. I could have fixed it. ..I could have brought you back. But I used it for revenge instead. ..I'm sorry mom and dad. ..I love you." I think those lines have a really powerful emotional impact. Also, as her last standing brother dissolves, he says (in her comics) "...They don't care about us now. ..Now they have you. ..Goodbye, Eve." right before he disintegrates. Maybe they could have kept those lines in the adapted episode.
I wish they'd kept the ending from the comic, where Eve regrets that final fight. She said something like, "I regret that in that moment, where I could've saved my mom, and doctor, instead I chose revenge". It's a key part of her character later, but yeah, since at that moment she even could change tissue and matter, she could've saved them but was so angry she could only think of revenge. It explains why in Invincible instead of using her powers to fight monsters, she quit and started helping out the world.
Eve is such a GOAT. She was banging out with that laser arm dude Mark fought when she was 12 years old. Shes giving strong Jean Gray crossed with Dr. Manhatten vibes.
Eh, it's a bit of a weird comparison. Mostly because, especially if we're talking comics, Wanda's powerset is all over the place - hex magic, probability manipulation, etc. Moreso manipulation of reality compared to Eve's more "mundane" powers of being purely a matter manipulator. A more apt comparison (even though it's a far less known one) would be Molecule Man (right down to the name, Molecule Man...Atom Eve). Some versions of Molecule Man in the comics also has a subconscious block preventing him from manipulating/creating organic matter, just like Eve. With it in mind what Molecule Man can do, by the time of Invincible where she is actually creating living matter (regrowing trees and plant life) and altering matter into pure energy constructs, Eve is really tapping into some of the mid-limits of what all is possible with the ability to control and reshape things on the molecular and atomic level - just the idea that she can alter matter into energy means the opposite is also true if she realizes it, and even more when she realizes just what all constitutes energy in the universe...and if she then combines manipulation of matter and energy at the same time, she could essentially control everything in the universe
I abhor Eve's foster parents, the Wilkins. They have a GENIUS daughter, who could no doubt very easily become incredibly successful and respected in the field of chemistry, likely even SUPPORT them in their later years, later decides to dedicate her life to risking it for the sake of others with her almost God-like powers, and they treat her like a weird problem child because they wanted a "normal" kid. What makes it even more awful is that they seem to forget that (as far as they know) they ALMOST lost her at birth. Talk about being ungrateful.
It's not even that. They're a caricature of the kind of dumb, suicidal a holes that exist in real life. They insist upon being abusive, to someone who could scatter their molecules on a whim, easier than saying "F U dad"

I think Robot from Season 1 of Invincible, pre-bio-body, seemed to also be some sort of "Phase" living in a similar "Tube" as the others. If so, that would sort of indirectly make this an aspect of his backstory. It also would make him achieving a stable form all the more poetic/beautiful in honor of the fallen Phases.
Trust me if they do a fraction of Eve from the comics what you have seen so far it the tip of the iceberg power wise with her. Omni-man race go for pure Gene stock so him during a non-power should mean to terminate yet he has conflicting feelings as he does love Mark which is why he didn’t kill him in season 1 Great dynamic tension between him and Mark. I am amped for season 2!
I'll never understand WHY eve's parents are like that. People like that don't last long IRL- and this is a setting with aliens, spirits and gods, all with superpowers. It can't just be an inferiority complex, right??
I love your reaction videos and can't wait for you to react to Invincible season 2 soon. I know you guys watched The Boys and liked it, there's a new adaptation called Gen V it is as good as the boys and would be awesome to see your reactions to it.
I think y’all should stick to just watching breaking bad because it’s a long series and I just feel if ur watching other shows, you won’t enjoy this show to the fullest.
How does watching more than 1 show dilute anything. You’re either treating breaking bad like a complex “every ounce of information matters” story or you think they’re too dumb to remember what’s going on after watching a completely different show. You’re being controlling.
A. Invincible isn't anime B. Lots of people care about anime C. If you don't like it don't watch, not every show is for every person D. It's not your channel I personally don't like Breaking Bad as much as most people, so I just don't watch those reaction videos and let people who are fans enjoy them lol
