They answer all the questions as what if style, For example: what would have happened if Omniman had told the Guardians of globe about Vultramite empire's plan instead of killing them And what would have happened if Mark had listened to his dad's plan?🤷🏻‍♀️

The showrunner and Robert Kirkman said they expanded on the comic book source material because they're going like 7 seasons and each episode is an hour long. The original comic would only fill a fraction of that.

This was my biggest takeaway from the first episode. It wasn't just "Welp Omni-man is a HUGE dick, fucked shit up, oh well moving on!" You got to see the emotional impact that has on both Mark and Debbie. I don't know why, but I didn't expect them to show it so well.

@@emergencyawesomeIdk, even with just the comic material, I could see this show easily clearing season 6. (show only people, MAJOR SPOILERS ahead) Hell, even now, I still predict this season ending with Mark singlehandedly stopping the Sequid invasion in space from that issue somewhere in the 50’s, as that and the parade in his honor that followed was the first time Earth 110% showed that they trusted him despite Oniman’s actions, and that would be a perfect parallel between the themes in this first episode. Then the season cliffhanger would be the drones showing Angstrum is still alive. Then Season 3 will be the Invincible War, Conquest, Omniman and Allen breaking out of prison, and then the cliff hanger will be Omniman, Mark, Allen, and Oliver leaving Earth as the final scene is of Thragg giving Conquest his orders. I personally think of everything leading up to the Viltrumite War as the series’ Act 1 and so I think that was why the show’s 2nd and 3rd seasons both got renewed at the same time right after season 1. I think Amazon wanted to see how the ratings are looking up to the Viltrumite War as that’s about when the animation is gonna get WAYYYY more expensive lol. That’s my only gripe with the comic. I see up until like issue 67 as act 1, then 68 through the end of Thragg vs Battle Beast as act 2, so about 68 through 123. It flows really well that way, but then, the act 3 is only 124-144 and 3 of those issues are the reboot issues which felt like a super forced way to progress 5 years instead of having more issues to take place in those 5 years, and so the ending of Invincible felt INCREDIBLY rushed to me. I personally hope that they scrap that whole plot line all together in the show. The reboot served no purpose as Mark and Eve got right back together and it didn’t seem to impact Mark’s relationship with Tera at all. Literally all that 5 year timeskip did was justify how Thragg was able to reproduce such a large army.

@@23Raind I see where you're coming from. That's a limiting belief, look at what they did with the boys, how much more they added to make the series much better than the comics. I trust they won't pull a Marvel and will make Invincible much better than the comics. It's already improved on the first issues of the comic with Season 1, Atom Eve Special and Season 2 ep1.

i wonder where season 2 will end off, if it ends off where i think it will we'll still only be barely 30 issues in making me wonder how long the series will run for, especially if we get these multy year breaks between seasons every time

@@animatedmonkey5882 Maintaining the current pace of season 1 and this first episode of season 2, I think it’ll end right around issues 50-57. That Sequid invasion where Mark steps up to save Earth singlehandedly by destroying their ship, and then the parade in his honor and the interview that follows, that was the first moment in the comic where Earth truly sees Mark as 110% a hero and honors him without questioning him because of Omniman’s actions, plus that arc ends on the cliffhanger where we find out Angstrum is still alive and is actively spying on Mark. I think that cliffhanger would be the perfect way to end season 2. I also think ending it that way would be perfect because it would parallel this first episode perfect and give Mark a completed arc in season 2. Entering season 2, he’s doubting himself and questioning whether he’s gonna end up like Omniman, and people like Immortal and Cecil are actively distrusting of him. So by the end of season 2, by stepping up to stop the Sequids and by earning the respect of everyone, not only has he proved himself to Earth at that point, but he’s also proved to himself that he is his own man. Then, assuming I’m right, season 3 goes right into the Invincible War and then Conquest, where this newly matured Mark will have his growth from season 2 truly tested for the first time.

@@animatedmonkey5882 This is under the assumption that certain events aren’t remixed, so solely based on the comic, here’s how I see season 2 playing out. 2x1: Marks doubting himself. People don’t trust him. Angstrum deforms himself. 2x2: Lizard league setup. Episode ends with Angstrum planning something. 2x3: Mark and Amber’s visit with Eve. Mark returns to find Angstrum holding his mom captive. Episode ends with Mark “killing” Angstrum and being “trapped” in the other dimension. (Mid season finale) 2x4: The older guardians save Mark. Mark tells Cecil what happened with Angstrum, which adds to Cecil’s distrust. Mark “killing” Angstrum also adds to his self doubts. Immediately after returning, Science Dog shows up. Mark decides to leave to help, which further adds to Cecil’s distrust, and Mark having to leave right after returning from the other dimension adds tension to his and Amber’s relationship. The episode ends with Mark arriving to the other planet, and the big cliffhanger is Oniman greeting him. 2x5: Oliver is introduced. Omniman and Mark vs the other viltrumites. Omniman gets taken. As Mark is helping the (forgot what Oliver’s race is called) he notices that he’s been thinking about Eve instead of anyone else, and that adds to his inner conflict about being with Amber. Mark leaves the other planet with Oliver. 2x6: Mark returns with Oliver and informs his mom and Cecil of what happened. He and Amber spend time together, but she’s pissed about him being gone for so long without telling her. Mark is still doubting himself, but seeing his father again and knowing he’s changed, as well as now knowing about the threat of Viltrum has given him a new motivation. We see what’s been going on with Allen since he left. 2x7: We see what’s been going on with the Martian that came back from Mars. He reveals himself to everyone and warns them about the Sequids. Everyone leaves to take down the Sequids. Episode ends with the Lizard League beginning their attack. (finale) 2x8: Lizard league attack. Sequid battle on the ship. Sequids and LL are all defeated by around 5/8 through the episode. The Immortal and Cecil commend Mark. Mark’s parade happens, and then he’s interviewed about why he’s been doing what he’s doing in the first place and whether Omniman’s actions have been his only reason. This is the moment Mark finally embraces the fact that he’s his own man and erases his doubts. He returns home, everything seems fine, and the cliffhanger is that Angstrum’s drone can be seen in the distance spying on the Graysons. We also see Anissa flying up to Earth and viewing it from a far distance, and we also see Allen leaving his planet to come to Earth, each in small clips that set up season 3. The only things from the comic I’ve remixed here are I cut out that scene of Mark telling Eve he “thinks” he has feelings for her and she gets sad as that moment was kinda bad tbh, and I don’t see the writers keeping that. I also pushed Anissa and the breakup with Amber both back, as those two things conflict with where I think the show’s going right now. The other things need to happen first, as Mark in both of those events is a very confident Mark whose came really far from he and Oniman’s fight. Season 2 Mark seems much more traumatized than comic Mark did, and so I don’t see Season 2 Mark gaining the confidence needed to be honest about his feelings for Eve or to be able to tell Anissa off until AFTER the Sequid invasion. Also, the Eve and Amber triangle, training Oliver, Anissa showing up, and the Doc Seismic battle that leads to Cecil and Mark’s fight would all be enough content to fit into the first 2-3 episodes of Season 3 to buildup to the Invincible War. Plus, Anissa’s appearance and warning happening in 3x1 to setup for Conquest showing up around 3x6 or 3x7 would make it to where Anissa’s setup and payoff happens within the same season.

I think it’s their bickering about who’s the original and how they both seem like your typical strong meat head character but they switch it around by making them really smart

I like the way they did it here cause originally it was totally Marks fault that it exploded he got to be the way he is. But it makes more sense that he hates mark due to the other versions of himself while also keeping our Invincible more virtuous

But in the show they changed it to that he was a human, him being “back” basically means a robot version of him was created I’m assuming. It’s the only logical way to bring him back, but of course they could completely change it.

I basically did the same, had a double take when I saw him standing there. There has to be a robot or clone explanation for that coming because Omni Man not only basically broke him in half, but he was right in the middle of that huge explosion.

​@@alphachief572There's probably a dozen different reasons why Mark would side with Omni Man. It's even implied in the alternate universe that they still fought, but in the end Mark sided with Omni Man.

Mark might see siding with the Viltrumites as 'the lesser evil', because realistically, resistance is essentially futile, it would only end up in more human death and bloodshed. Realizing the futility in it, a more logical Mark would instead try to convince humanity to submit willingly, whereas, a more moral (but ultimately unrealistically idealistic Mark) would fight for humanity against the largely unsurmountable threat.
