March 13th 2019 I was diagnosed with leukemia. The next 9 months I battled for my life. I don’t like to celebrate remission because many have not even made it, but I have achieved it… for now. I discovered this exceptional cover and immediately felt like the lyrics resonated how I felt about my battle. Live for today brothers and sisters, tomorrow isn’t promised.
maybe your comment could have saved my life, you are an inspiration and a true warrior here. I've been fighting against myself for the last few weeks, I've always had difficulties but I've always turned things around and held on to a lot of burdens from years ago, last year was very difficult, it left my soul bitter, I exploded, I confused a lot of things and I disappointed some friends and one person who was nice to me. I isolated myself from everyone, this has never happened to me, it has taken away my strength to live. I'm fighting every day.
This is one of the best covers I've heard.. How can you sing along while playing?? I don't think people really understand how hard it is unless they actually play the song.
Absolutely especially tool off time signatures are so complex people have no idea I play I love planning it all acoustic and I put slap technique into it to where it almost sounds like fish along with the guitar while singing I give that dude a lot of props and you did a great job
@@markbarbuto36 It's not necessarily the actual time signatures themselves but the fact that TooL will often have two or even three members simultaneously playing to a different time signature. Example: Reflection @ 4:05.
I,ve played Guitar for 56 Years, That is the Most Impressive Tool Cover That I have have Ever Heard. Take A Bow my Friend. That was Absolutely Amazing. You are Outstanding. I Would Be Honored to Play Guitar With You. I n My years of Playing. I,ve been asked, what do You need to play Guitar. My answer has always been. It has to come.from Your Heart. MY friend, That You Have!
With just an acoustic guitar and your singing, you've captured the very essence of the song. I can't quite explain what it is, but it's more than just your masterful playing and your soulful voice. This cover has SOUL.
I am a fiend for acoustic covers of rock/metal songs. This is one of the best covers of any genre I've ever heard. The arrangement was fantastic, the vocals were clean and clear and *good*, and you projected the emotion of this song quite well. 12/10, you absolutely nailed it.
It's an accomplishment just to sing it this well, it's an accomplishment just to play the guitar part this well. To do both shows extraordinary talent.
Very sensitive and faithful interpretation. You nailed the rhythmic swing and accents through the odd time sigs. Your vocal color is rich and pitch is on point. Bravo!
I heard imediately acoustic soul in this song by tool, so i need to dig it and from first try i know i ll not search anymore...nailed it man...mad respect
Such an amazing cover. The energy of the piece is kept, but it's like we gave it another room. Very slight yet consequent changes in there. ABsolutely amazing.
My fav song on FI, you've managed to capture the entire atmosphere of the original composition and performance flawlessly with just an acoustic and your voice, this is an absolutely stellar performance of this piece, MJK and the boys should and would be proud of, I've seen many people cover Tool since I first heard them back in 92 (hell I've even done it in bands before as well as covered APC on my YT channel), this is hands down one of the best performances I've ever seen someone outside of the band do of the original material, from one musician to another, thank you and bravo.
This is good but I have to say Summer Woods acoustic cover of Stinkfist is the best and that's probably why the alogarithm brought me here cause I listened to her cover like 40 times since I discovered it yesterday. Trust me when I say her rendition is better than the original.
You absolutely killed this acoustic rendition through and through..... I would very much love for you to share tab of the finger picked bridge you put in there starting around 4:08.
I agree. That finger picked part at 408 was very well translated. Wow the bass in there was very clever. Just wow the whole way. As a tool aficionado I really appreciate the work put into this one man!
Long in tooth and soul Longing for another win Lurch into the fray Weapon out and belly in Warrior Strugglin' To remain Consequential Bellow out loud Bold and proud Of where I've been But here I am Beating chest and drums Beating tired bones again Age-old battle, mine Weapon out and belly in Tales told of battles won Of things we've done Caligula would grin Beating tired bones Tripping through remember when Once invincible Now the armor's wearing thin Heavy shield down Warrior Strugglin' To remain Relevant Warrior Strugglin' To remain Consequential Cry aloud, bold and proud O' where I've been But here I am Where I end Warrior Strugglin' To remain Relevant Warrior Strugglin' To remain Consequential Tears in my eyes, chasing Ponce de Leon's phantom soul Filled with hope, I can taste mythical fountains False hope, perhaps But the truth never got in my way Before now, feel the sting, feeling time bearing down Tears in my eyes chasing Ponce de Leon's phantom soul Filled with hope, I can taste mythical fountains False hope, perhaps But the truth never got in my way Before now, feel the sting, feeling time bearing down False hope perhaps But the truth never got in my way Before now, feel the sting, feeling time bearing down Bearing down
This video really helped me with the timing. I’m gonna continue to learn this version of the song. Thanks for making a great acoustic cover of it! It’s great!
Wow man, great work. Excellent representation of the vocals. Even more impressive how seamless your vocals are with the heavy fretboard movement of Adam's riff. Impressive dude!
Nice job!!!! You really did this song justice, from the vocals to the timing, to the acoustic arrangement. All really damn impressive. I’m not able to listen to many covers, especially those of songs that I love & you made a cover of my favorite song from this album that is extremely enjoyable, big kudos to you!
Was not expecting this at all. Crazy good job here man, Tool are not an easy band to do justice to in a cover and you've nailed it on feel, quality and pure talent.
