If anyone is thinking about having braces please look at the difference between an Orthodontist and a Dentist. There’s a huge difference between the two and their knowledge in this area. I’m saying this having had Invisalign done 6 years ago with a dentist, huge regret. I’ve now found an orthodontist to correct some problems due to the last dentist and my goodness there’s such a difference between the two when it comes to knowledge of tooth movement.
This is so true. I did Invisalign through a dentist and he didn’t tell me anything about chewies and I constantly had buttons coming off. I also wasn’t aware I would have to wear them 22 hours a day for two years (that partly is my fault for not having researched info better beforehand). But now I’m done but feel like my bite is a little off. I’m going to be making an orthodontist appointment soon. I wish I had gone with traditional braces with an orthodontist
Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience too. There are so many dentists who put "specialist interest in orthodontics" or "short term orthodontics" or "interest in teeth straightening", this is confusing to someone who doesn't understand the broad scope of Dentistry. That just means they've done a few courses here and there for the brand they use to perform the orthodontic work but they don't tend to do the plans for that specific patient and they struggle to correct if there is a problem. Good luck with your Orthodontist appointment.
Braces were not fun. They really hurt and the broken wires were awful when it happened. Getting them yanked off my teeth was traumatic. I had dreams of spitting out my teeth for a year after that. I wish I had the option of invisaline at the time but this was in the 90's.
YOU ARE THE FIRST orthodontist that addressed why my ortho SAID I COULD NOT HAVE Invisalign. She said there was way too much to do with my teeth and then didn't even offer clear brackets to me...said they break too easy and so they will only be offering me metal. WTH? anyway I hope this process is fast because braces on a 55yr middle aged woman is NOT CUTE.
Hi ya!!! I am getting invisalign. I actually had braces as a kid, but of course as time went on I quit wearing my retainer. I went for a consult and looks like I am going to get invisalign. I didn't know they could hurt too. I just remember when I had braces my doctor would tighten them up once a month and my mouth would be so sore for a couple of days.
Haha I love how she speaks . Kind of like "well duhh right, I mean come on this is common sense you guys but for those that have asked" I had braces many years ago and now my bottom teeth have shifted and now need to adjust them.
Thank you so much for the update and you're advise... I'm about to go have my teeth with traditional braces i was gonna get the other ones but you change my mind I don't feel like taking off when I eat or drink coffee jejeje 😘 FROM LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA BIG HUGH
Everyone is different. I am 56 years old and the Invisalign really helped my crowded bottom teeth in about a year. However it's easy to lose them. Also you can't drink coffee with them on if you don't want them stained. You must brush like 4 times a day after you eat and I always brush my Invisalign afterward too. Don't think it's good for your teeth to be trapped with coffee or soda while you have your Invisalign on. Either way you are at the dentist's mercy when they take off the brackets for metal braces or anchors for Invisalign. Also make sure you are seen often enough to check on your progress. Seen the Invisalign dentist only once after one year and now have an additional year to go even though my teeth weren't that bad. Another dentist chipped (took a small chunk) from my top tooth and does not specialize in Invisalign. It is noticeable too. You want to definitely make sure you go to a specialized Invisalign doctor. The only thing is both front teeth either need a composite or veneers anyway due to many years ago by a dentist sanding them down trying to make them straight and they ended up chipping away too.
I would not go with SDC. Horrible. Please go to an actual ortho if you plan on getting invisible trays. Smile direct club is a scam there’s so many claims against them on the BBB.
Good videos! This is kandy from an orthodontic materials company, now our braces is very good, short the treatment time, easy to clear, easy to fix......Welcome to connect with me for more details.
that is bs i talked with quite a few orthodontist one specialized in invisalign they told me that for me invisalign would be a better option it goes faster and the result is more effiecient ( in short term )
That actually depends on the individual set of teeth. And of course, if the doctor is an Invisalign distributor, then they can have very good insight on which might work better.
You guys are a bunch of bullies it’s not very nice to say things about people like that. Especially when she’s my dentist she’s the nicest person you’ll ever meet does it really matter what she’s done to her face I don’t think it’s any of your business.
