The young Transylvanian author invites you to get rid of stereotypes in History and dare to know the real stories. There are many surprising details behind the well-known legends and untold characters especially women who had their impact without recognition...
One of the best-selling Hungarian authors, Zsolna was born in Cluj-Napoca, a city in Transylvania. Her first novel, ‘A Transylvanian Love Story’ is a real journey through ballrooms, complicated family relations and an amazing romance, from teeming Budapest to the foot of the Carpathians in Transylvania, where she was born into an aristocratic family. Her family fled to Hungary from the Ceausescu regime when she was eleven and she only returned to her homeland as a grown-up to live there for almost a decade before returning to live in Budapest once again. The 1st and 2nd volume of her trilogy (‘The Enchanting Ann Báthory’ and ‘The Palatine’s Women’) were both bestsellers. It is set in the turbulent times of 16th and 17th century Hungary, Transylvania, Istanbul, Venice, Warsaw and Brussels. Zsolna holds a degree in law and political science, worked as a journalist and a political & foreign correspondent for national TV, where she also edited and hosted various cultural programs.

Great talk! You are doing something extraordinary, Ugron Zsolna. You are rewriting the dusty old narratives of historical novels that were left to us by big and unquestioned classics in the Hungarian literature, all of them males writing about males, leaving out half of the nation, presenting half of the story only. Thank you for writing about the other half too. I am just reading the second volume of your trilogy. I am panicking because I am about to finish it. I hope the third volume will be out as soon as possible!
