I went to a INXS concert here in Florida & sat in the second row and I was the only one in my chair chanting their lyrics! He came over and grabbed my hand which freaked me out! Afterwards I saw the entire band as they were leaving the arena and Michael gave me a hug and Kirk gave me his water bottle + a half drunk bottle of Heinekin! A very cool band indeed! We miss you Michael!
That's how Michael was, always made an effort and made you feel like WOW and he was always amazing and so down to earth until the media invaded his life totally when he met Paula.

Music today just does not have what this kind of music did! There is no more soul or spirit to music it’s just tone deaf shock and awe and I want no part of it. Thank goodness we still have the music of the past to listen to!
I remember watching INXS at a pub on the Central Coast in the early 80's, before they were popular and watched their rise to fame over the next decade. It was a great era to be a part of. Michael will always be the best front man in my eyes, he had it all. A great band and sad to know I can never see them live again.

I heard this on First Wave the other night, but they didn't say who or what this song was. I was driving and was desperate to know more about it. I said to my husband "It sounds like INXS but it's so different from their other stuff that I know!" I guess I was right. I am loving this so much! I wonder why it wasn't a bigger hit - at least in the states I don't recall this ever getting air time.
This was a big in 1984 from the ' The Swing ' album absolutely awesome band ! From what I can recall INXS really took off in the States with the next album ' The Kick ' ( I think this was late '85 - 1986) but yep I should check that! Both equally good , though I think to me ' The Swing' slightly different original sound e.g. ' Johnson's Aeroplane ' + ' Dancing on the Jetty' :) :)
INXS made GREAT music! These guys made music that is timeless. Enjoy it as much today as when got this on VC. Thanks gents for infinite joy of hearing universal language... MUSIC!

It's funny how some say that the 'Kick' album was full of hits, I found that of 'The Swing' album myself. I liked that album more. But don't get me wrong, I love all of INXS's albums. :)
First live concert I saw out on my own, INXS, right there in Mackay, Queensland (1985). My old flat is down there in the corner... oops, missed it! These days I live in the Los Angeles area... if I'm up in LA, I try to stop in at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills and say hi to Michael. His mother's third of his ashes are buried there.
