I agree with OP, one of the thing is to able to reach the front car to lock unlock door . Personally, I sleeped in my I5 I think 4 night already. (2 in summer time with 30C outside and 2 night in wither at near 0C or little under and most night I lost around 5-8% only with climate active, for 8 hours sleeping each time. Another thing, long time ago I have removed the wasting top truck top floor to have more space but for sleeping, it's bad idea since I have more trunk space but not flat trunk anymore. Then when I do it, I needed to add plank to have flat floor to sleep.

We are building our Hi5 out to RV in this summer. Bought a 3" memory foam mattress topper for the back, it worked. But it was not great for more than 1 or 2 nights. We ended up getting the megamat auto from Exped, it is amazing. But if you are only doing short camping trips and love anywhere near Colorado, I still have the mattress topper if you want it.

$10 roll up sleeping bag hard foam cusion from Coleman, stick a wedge pillow upside-down in the open leg area and you are good to go.

I've tested for fit, not as big a guy so feels plenty spacious, but I've not slept in it yet, so no idea about comfort. I'd use self inflating pads I have. I'm less concerned about running HVAC and more about fresh air, either a way to open the windows but keep out bugs, or a way to ensure the air exchanger runs often enough.
