Nice! I have digital key set up on my Samsung but my Pixel fold is coming in the next few weeks. I had already resigned myself to the fact that digital key wouldn't work anymore. Good to know it works this way.
Apparently now you can share the digital key from iOS to android, which is great since I have an iPhone and Pixel and want to be able to use either with the car.
I tried this with our 2023 Genesis GV80 and my Pixel 8 Pro, but every time i try to "save" the smartphone key using the wireless charger, it gives me a "saving cancelled" message on the infotainment screen. ☹️
@@HigherQualityUploads Whaaat? Where did you find that info out? That'd be super odd considering the 8 Pro has a UWB sensor while the regular 8 doesn't.
@@carson9903he's bullshitting it's the opposite. Every Pixel Pro mldels are compatible (including Folds) but none of the other ones. Hope you tried to contect Google about it if you haven't figured it out. Did you enable UWB in settings ?
Damn... just tried this on my pixel fold and I get a pop up saying this device is not supported. I'm using the exact same method as the video. Weird...
@@HigherQualityUploads I checked, it is the most recent version (June 1st). It does the same thing that happens in this video, except instead of pulling up the screen to enter the code, it goes to a black screen that says device is not supported. Someone elsewhere had mentioned it was an issue with the current partition in wallet for keys and passes and they should fix it in an update. I'll keep checking thouigh.
I saw that they updated the app and their page to show pixel fold compatible with digital key 2 and also BLE/UWB. Doesn't work yet though, at least not on Android 14 beta. Hopefully this means its coming soon though.@@HigherQualityUploads
