I use it mostly for taking notes in school and studying and it for the most part has replaced all my note-taking on actual paper. However, the screen is not as bright as I'd like. The lights in my class are super bright and I have to adjust my angles often just to see what I'm reading/writing on the screen. It could be my eyes, but I think a brighter screen would still help. Also there is no mute switch. This might not be an issue for most people but for me, this being my first ipad and being an iphone user, I'm so used to having it there. Everyone can hear when I'm typing with it in the library (probably just me overthinking) but I'm sure I can adjust that in the settings. Just kinda inconvenient. Other than that, I really enjoy it overall
HOLY! A video about our script! Yes, I did some things there :P. When I rewrote the script, I knew that the statement with like "if you see this, everything went great" sort of line was printing when the script errors out. Honestly, I'm mostly a bash beginner, I'm now more of a Python intermediate, so I really didn't know how to fix that. As for the DFU part, it's not always going to work just from the exploit itself so until its updated, you're gonna have to run the script a few times. We'd love to have some iPad people to try it out as we both (Matty if you see this, correct me lol) don't have any iPads. We both tested on the two different iPhone 5S's and it worked on both of our ends. The rest is really driven by any reports anyone can make on the issues page of the repo, and it'll be greatly appreciated! Anyways, you've explained how to do this process exactly as I intended it to. Great job!. Lastly, thanks for reviewing our project!
I keep getting "Error: libplist 2.1.0 is already installed" and it does not see my iPad is in DFU mode. I tried many times. iPad is in DFU mode showing connect to iTunes. hope someone can help.
@@86Rifty just run a mac os x mojave virtual machine. that's what im doing, i have installed the os and it runs like a normal mac, now i'm going to try the downgrade and let u know if it's worth trying

It may need to download some homebrew stuff when you run the ./restore.sh command. It did in my case on High Sierra, so just let it download them. In my case, the download and installation took roughly 10 minutes.
If you use tethered downgrade/dualboot with patching latest SEP to work with older versions you can *possibly* get 11.4.1 to work, but it would be terrible because all SEP functions wouldn't work (passcode, biometrics, apple pay, etc).

Great video, what a fantastic tool! Also there’s a tvOS beta profile which can be installed to block iOS firmware updates on the device once you’ve downgraded.
I understand why some people wants to do this, but when you run an older version of iOS than what is actually possible on your device apps will eventually stop to work. Apples Office Apps Pages, Numbers and Keynote require iOS 12 and iMovie and GarageBand require iOS 13. This mean that you will have app incompatibility and that you in the end won’t be able get updates for the apps.
Hugh, I have this question because I don’t know what to do about it. About a year ago my iPad Air 2 had a screen burn in and it’s been going on non stop. Do you have any clue on how to fix it? It’s getting really annoying because I can’t stay on something for too long or else it will burn in.

Just did that on an iPad Air (32gb cellular) , it worked on the second try. iOS 10 gives u about 50% boost in performance, it also doesnt have that weird keyboard glitch (iOS 12.5 if u split the keyboard and then rotate, it will glitch until u reopen it). It also offers 32+64bit support. And a better battery life. I used the Vieux tool on Mojave 10.14.6, with Python 3.8 and X Code 11.2.1
Well I like to know how all these people are doing it I’ve got iPhone 5s and iPad mini 2 bot with correct firmware versions, new install Mojave and still after 30 tries on each device nothing it won’t do shit... this video has to be just bullshit, the files buddy has in his folder is BUILD and SHSH and mine don’t get them folders even after it starts it always stops and waiting for DFU and I’ve restored many devices and know how to get into dfu just won’t work....

I was surprised AF. Using it as the main phone, runs 32+64bit anything, good battery life. Also got 3d touch.

Hi hugh i recently performed a housing swap for my iPhone 7 and it wax my first time and i broke some of the yellow stuff not sure what it was off the bottom of the dock connector and when i turn on my phone it occasionally loops for a few minutes then turns on but won't charge and I know that it's not just the port because the tapic engine does vibrate when i press on the home button any advice i have already ordered a new one but any tips?
I have a problem, my mom has a MacOS High Sierra V 10.13.6 MacBook pro. We Dont have Xcode installed, but it's trying to install when we run the script in terminal. When it gets to that point, it says "Error Downloading command line : The Network connection was lost Done. Error downloading updates." Then just brings us all the way back to the beginning.
