Still doesn’t work. People keep saying it’s when you set a photo. No, it’s when I RESIZE a photo, even after it’s been cropped to wallpaper size. Many times the AI puts the image to high. You lower it and boom, it blurs the top

As a lifelong Android user with an iPhone 14 for work, it's incredible that I had to Google a fix for this. The general lack of an intuitive user interface, and now seeing perplexing issues for something as mundane as wallpaper, was the reason I chose Android in the first place.

This can also be done by pinching and zooming in/out when you set the wallpaper from the Lock Screen using force touch (in case you don’t want to ruin the original).

Doesn’t work for me. I try to set it as a wallpaper and it always auto-zooms in way too much and when I zoom out it blurs it again. So damn annoying…

They probably will when I don't know because I'm currently on 17.4.1 and it's still not fixed But I'm updating to 17.5 races so I should hopefully fix this

Here’s an idea that worked for me… take your picture and post it to your story except, don’t post it. Once you select your photo, Instagram should color match the background and you can save the photo without posting it. This should zoom your photo out enough to make it the correct size when using it for your wallpaper.

Did not work. Does Apple have any eta on when this will be fixed? It was a horrible feature from the start.

Came to this video since suddenly I started getting all my wallpapers with the blur. Really suck that you need to do all of these annoying stuff just to have a normal wallpaper.

I’m on iPad so there is no “wallpaper” option.

The wallpaper cropping is just CROPPING your original photo. It’s can’t zoom out for example to include all the background you need. This is such a misleading video

Not a fix, just a work around. When you do this, and then move it on the wallpaper screen, it still goes blurry. But your goal here is to not have to move it. Also, get a better mic for your videos. No offense, just as a sound snob it sounds bad.
