I had tried everything to get my oldest boy (14) into bowhunting. He likes using shotgun and crossbow (which is fine) but i told him theres no better rush getting one with a bow. I had given up, but he asked me for a bow out of no where and I gave him my triax. Turns out he's been watching your videos and YOU got him Into bowhunting. He put me on your videos and I'm glad he did. He killed a doe with it, and un fortunately didnt recover the buck he shot in Nov. But that's part of it. He really looks up to you. Good videos and nice buck!

Didn't recover the buck.... that's why I shoot the crossbow. I hunt for the simple pleasure, not the bragging rights. Bragging rights gets you empty handed more times than not

Your comment about the extra pressure was interesting! It's not like it's my living or my brand as I'm just starting out as a hobby but it already feels like if I'm not hunting every day, filming every day, doing something for the internet every day, then I'm failing. I forget this is still supposed to be fun. I can't imagine the pressure you must feel internally and externally. I certainly appreciate the work you put in. It gets me through most of my desk job days.

Congrats, great buck! I was chasing a deer almost identical to that this year, last time I had him on a trail cam was Oct 17th & now we have so much snow the cam is buried and that area is not being used so I can only hope he relocated for the rut and shows up again on the cam this spring! I have a ball filling our freezer every year but the last good buck I shot was in 2016, our area gets hunted hard so I end up passing a lot of nice bucks each year and then hope, hope, hope!!!

This is a perfect situation for a rock climbing harness. You can add & subtract layers of clothing without disconnecting from the tree.

I have hunted in the cold for a few seasons for white tail and I decided to go out and buy me a nice warm pair of bibs sent lock very nice and warm and ever size I bought them I have killed my white tail before the temp has gotten cold enough to use them. Lol it is annoying I want to use them but I have always lately killed my deer before November

Awesome buck, I’m hoping to get a new Mathew’s next season. I have been hunting with a mission bow for the last 5 years, I got it when I was 12 I believe, and have shot many many deer with it, just time for an upgrade! We will see if I can get the phase 4, I want to but need to save first 😂 school doesn’t let me work much but I’ll get one sooner then later and before next hunting season for sure

I have passed good animals and shot smaller animals all because of the feeling. If it doesn’t get my heart rate going and get me excited, I just don’t shoot. I had a really good bear in front of me once, one I would have considered a shooter. But I just didn’t feel like it. So I let him walk. That rush and level of fulfillment is what it’s about.

Hey , question… @ 3:50 in this video , there’s a scene showing the teather. Question is , is it wrong to slide your prusik knot (with harness carabiner) up to that ‘junction’ so that the teather doesn’t slide down the tree at all ?
