Iowa State played its best game of the season on Thursday night, thrashing Iowa 90-65 as part of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. Off the tip, Iowa State was locked in, blitzing the Hawkeyes early and punishing them in the paint. The Cyclones never looked back, controlling the flow of the game throughout and at one point holding a 32-point lead.
ISU earned its 600th win in Hilton Coliseum on the night as head coach T.J. Otzelberger earned his second win in the Cy-Hawk series, moving to 2-1 all-time against Iowa. The 25-point win is the largest by the Cyclones over Iowa in series history. The previous high (20) was set in 2021, the last time the two teams met in Hilton. Over the past two Cy-Hawk games in Hilton, ISU's average margin of victory is 22.5.
