I love how every Cyclone just makes a B-line for the Iowa sideline to get the trophy; they don't wait for some stupid presentation ceremony, they just go over and fuckin' take it!!
I'm an ISU grad and a diehard cyclone fan...I didn't think we had a chance to hang with Iowa, let alone win. This is a sobering reminder to me why we actually play the games! We can never count ourselves out with the great team and great coach we have!
That's how rivalry games work. It isn't like the superbowl where there is an official ceremony-the winning team simply runs to the appropriate sideline and grabs the trophy

In triple-overtime, and it just didn't stop being exciting. I can't wait to see how it goes next year. I'm getting hopes up for next year, 'cause we're doing so bad so far, but I still can't wait.

Ummm no. Every game, and I mean every game, has missed calls. You cannot name one football game where the refs got everything right. You are obviously like 12, so arguing with you is like arguing with a brick wall, but still. Iowa lost, Iowa State won. Accept it. And speaking of blown calls, how about that LATE hit at the end of the game when he was 3 yards in the end zone...
Stupid trophy... I remember the idea I heard of not having a trophy, but a championship belt instead. Call it "The Corn Belt" for that organization so obsessed with promoting themselves more than making a trophy to honor the teams. Everybody happy.

why is this game played so early? This game should be played every year in November. When I think of Iowa I think of cold, overcast skies, and corn. this game should be played in late October - Dec. not in the second week of the season. great game though.
Lol, that's funny. I got a text from one of my best friends who is a hawkeye fan and all the text said was that she didn't want to talk about it. Later she texted me that the Hawks will be out for revenge this next year.

if you wanna be TECHNICAL, sure, Iowa lost yesterday. They couldn't really find a groove in what they were doing, especially not as fast as ISU did (basically had theirs the whole game). Iowa finally got theirs in 3rd quarter. But TECHNICALITY wise, Iowa State played a shitty ass game. That was the worst playing I've seen in a long time. Lose or not, Iowa played a kickass game. Amazing team. ;)
