Iowa just needs a QB that can run and incorporates QB run plays in the game plan. Five field goals is OK, but TDs off turnovers needs improvement.

here’s the deal. the whole multiple “time zones” talking point, which is now being set up as the end all be all excuse for losing, is garbage and shouldn’t even be mentioned. Reason being is NOBODDDDY forced those teams into the big10. the big10 wasn’t forced into inviting them either. Time zones aren’t some new phenomenon. These programs accepted the invite and joined knowing exactly what part of the country big10 football is played in. This is so dumb that it’s even being brought up. i guess ohio st loss last night because of that time zone thing huh.. the time zones mysteriously gave minnesota magical super powers when they beat usc. I think iowa should get a rematch against stanford only in iowa city this time tho.. being that the score was so lopsided. here i was thinking CMC all these years stomped my hawks out because he was such an elite rb.. but after the announcers and coaches this season so far have made it such a talking point, im now convinced it was the ..timezone differences that led to a throttling. a team especially iowa can never just of been the superior team and won because our players were just better. nope impossible…. there’s always some excuse as to why whoever iowa played that day lost other then just flat out, plain and simple, just got beat.

USC loses at Minnesota, #4 Penn State then gets way behind and needs a big comeback and OT to win at USC. Ohio State loses to an Oregon team that struggled with Idaho and should've lost to Boise St. Cal, for god's sake, damn near beat Miami. Washington is still undefeated at home, though they could've lost this way to Iowa at home, too. I think the travel is definitely showing up, so it's reasonable to talk about, but it's also a reality for everyone for the foreseeable future, so we west coast teams just have to live with it.

Even if we had a better QB we would still have some struggles in the pass game until the receivers learn to catch better. Too many drops, still, in all an improvement over the last few weeks.

It shows how bad Iowa's offense is when playing these top teams. They call and play the game waaaaay tighter against top ranked teams and it's not a winning formula. There's a reason 2017 Iowa OSU game is an outlier

@@timoaks3732 who do you mean by “they” iowa or ohio st? and if Cade didn’t turn that ball over 3 times in the game that could of been a 4th quarter game if iowa could be remotely close to not being strictly a one dimensional team. Their opponents literally call out the play at LOS before the snap as kirk refuses to do anything at all different or new to maybe keep a defense on its toes. all teams need to do is load the box every down. Force iowa to throw. because as we all know, along with the entirety of ncaa footbal programs, and at all levels, knows Kirk ferentz has absolutely not one fkn clue on how to establish passing threat. they have the defense for it yenar after year it’s just that the defense can only hold the dam back so much without get even the slightest bit of help from the offense. then they turn it over 3 times on top of going 3 and out ever position.. the defense gets absolutely zero relief and just get gassed. if they could sustain drives let that defense catch its breath and put points up once in awhile against the elites, these blowouts wouldn’t happen. i think it gives a false representation of iowas defense when you see scores like 35-7 by the “ elites” of the conference. that d can hang with the best but they have got to get help once in a fuking while from the offense. and they just don’t get it in those games.

Iowa needs wide receivers that can get open and catch the ball. Iowa only had 3 receptions by the wide receivers thats bad. Iowa just ran off there best deep threat.
