I fell in love with this tram which was being sold second hand at Lord and Butler in Cardiff. This is my journey through regauging it from 32mm to 45mm

I highly recommend getting a mamod or MSS kit

Hi Astro. I am tempted by the geared dewilton vertical boiler loco. I find the basic MSS models too temperamental and subject to leaks in a short space of time. Now relegated to static display models. See my most recent video of the Bowande Falk. Even that is a challenge! John

just as a matter of interest, the IP gauge setting template supplied with their kits has a wheelback to wheelback measurement of 40.5 mm which gives a little bit of sideways play on the track rather than being tight agains the rails.

Thank you Gibb, that is good for people to know. Luckily I got one with a 32/45mm live steam engine recently. People could use a block of wood 40.5mm wide. I have in the past - see regauging hodwarts express video.

There is a model shop in Cardiff? Where please tell I need some G scale supplies?

Look for Lord and Butler. If you can't find the shop let me know and I will send some directions. They have a huge range of models and supplies in different scales. Not a huge selection of G scale but you can ask what they can get.

Hi Chris, I get most of my G scale supplies online. If you join a club you will get lots of help looking. The G scale society links you to regional groups. Members often move stuff on to other members. John

Could be the adjustment a little bit too tough - it seemed to me there is hardly less space. But if the track is damaged all these ideas are in vain!🤷🏻 I love to see old stuff beeing reactivatet!

Thank you Ernst. It seems to be rattling around quite happily now and coping with the rough sections of track. I will need to replace that track section for longer trains of trucks because they will derail as soon as you stop watching them.... They always do! I am waiting for new bogies for the even older railbus locos. John

They only derail when you are not watching them for some seconds!😉

@@MGdriver yes! Always the case. I love it when I go in to make a cup of tea and come out to find a train still running!
