Kindly please confirm me one thing that ipad 9 th generTion 2021 what you shown in the video having 3gb ram how was the browsing experience is it speed enough to work fast.
Just got this for my daughter's 11th birthday , there was a kid in the store similar age to my daughter screaming at his grandmother for daring to buy him the cheap iPad he wanted the pro with new pencil and sat down on the floor . Even my daughter was horrified , she quietly slipped her hand into mine and said mummy I'm really really grateful and I know this is my Christmas present too I was so proud and she's loving it.
Almost all reviewers show that first generation pencil sticking out of the iPad lightning port . In the box , containing the pencil, is a small lightning-to-lightning connector , which will allow the pencil to be charged using a standard lightning-usb charging cable and charger, while the iPad is being used for something else, or overnight, perhaps. I've never had my pencil sticking out of the iPad.
Just got this for my daughter, shes 17. This the first apple product ive ever bought. And im glad i was able yo get it for her. Wasnt logical to buy her a pricy gift atm due to financial issues. But these moments matter. To be able to gift or do something for your kid. Ill take the struggle and set myself back if its gonna make my kid happy.
Yes I have come to accept that the budget iPad is really the only one that's really necessary. I used to love the iPad pros but they're just so Overkill and I really wanted to love the new iPad mini I mean I really really had high hopes for that but it just isn't there
Yeah when you look at the price and capabilities this iPad gives you 95% of what you want. So it’s really hard to spend at least double the price to get that 5% more.

I love this iPad. It’s super good. Like, seriously good. The screen is nice and spacious and it’s fast. The only noticeable downside are the speakers. That’s it.

@@mgg0730 In my country (Hungary) If you go into a store and buy an Ipad, you have 3 days to return if its defective. But if you buy an Ipad online, you have 14 days to return it with no reason. It the item is excellent they just repack it and sell again.
Loving my new iPad 9th Gen A13 chip still great, 3.5mm jack, 64gb Space Grey, super best value Apple tech this year and personally no need for upper tier tablets. This one satisfies me big time!
I just bought mine a couple of days ago, because it was on sale. Actually, I like the wider bezels. It gives me more to hold on to without interfering with the screen. It's all I need. I have a laptop I can always use.
Thank you for your review. As a tech guy I too agree that unless your a professional artist or in some highly professional field where it is completely necessary to to have the top of the line product, the iPad 9 will serve the needs for most people.
The budget iPad is great for anyone who needs it as a work tool. Many of the features of the pro and air are superfluous to most end users, hence why those devices get colorful exteriors and other trappings that won’t affect the experience of using the device for simple tasks
I bought this for my youngest brother who is just a regular user, plays online games, browse social networking apps, and watch youtube. It's a good iPad for regular users and it's cheap.
I returned iPad mini 6 for this iPad I like larger screen smart connect and $170.00 less I purchased Logitech keyboard from amazon for $98 for full experience I agree the best value in apples lineup
He's right. Now that it has 64GB and a much improved selfie-cam with Center Stage it is by far the best value in a new iPad. It's all the iPad almost anyone really needs realistically, other than people making money with one. And forget the Air 4 as a step-up model. There are far better options with non-new and refurb Pro versions at about the same or lower price than Air 4.
@@eddieortiz873 I would say only get the extra storage space if you need it. I have a cloud storage system for my company, and just move everything to it. 64gb is plenty for me. But i use small word and excel documents, as well as storing pictures of physical documents.

I can afford an I pad 9 gen with the apple pencil, a logitech Bluetooth keyboard & mouse & cover within 500 USD. I will use it as my portable laptop. On the other hand if I buy the apple refurbished 2020 2nd Gen 11 inch Ipad pro, it alone will cost 650 USD. I would have to wait another 4-5 months at least to buy the accessories. Are you fully happy with using Ipad 9th gen as your professional laptop? Which accessories do you use?
I just bought a new 9th generation IPad for $229 off Amazon. Was not spending $500 for a better configured IPad with 256G of hard drive and cellular capability. I have been using my 1918 era 9.7” IPad for five years but its battery was failing and I was not paying a fortune to get a new one installed on a five year old machine. I figured it would meet my needs for a few years and at age 78 there are no guaranties, for me or an IPad.😊
Not laminated is actually good because if the screen breaks or shatters, the outside glass can be replaced without much cost. So it's a positive or plus.
It is a nice upgrade to the standard ipad from last year, but to be honest, my daily driver is an ipad 7th generation and it runs smoothly, does everything i need it to and still works like a charm. but i have to admit, i would LIKE to have the newer look and stuff, but how much ipad do you really need is the right question to ask here. great video!

Just ordered one from Best Buy for $250.00. Just couldn’t pass it up for what my needs are. It’s perfect for using as a remote to my canon DSLRs and my cinema cameras.
I bought one last weekend and it was a good decision. If I would’ve bought the pro I would’ve spent over 1000 bucks or over 700 for the air. And there just wasn’t enough new technology there to make it exciting enough to do that. I gave my seventh generation iPad to my five-year-old grandson, I already have an Apple Pencil and I bought the upgraded memory to hold my music collection. If I would’ve bought the air or the pro I would had to buy a new pencil and upgrade the memory, and that’s fine if there’s enough technology in the pro to interest me. This iPad will be just fine for my use. When a Pro comes out that’s that is of value to me, then I’ll make the move.
I just bought this today and I think it works absolutely amazingly. And to think I was gonna buy one for 499. I’m still getting used to only hearing audio for the bottom speaker though 😭

Agree with you man. I both this iPad as a very first time user, great price for what you get, I added up the apple pen and a keyboard(without trackpad), adding up 500 total, but if you can deal with not having the original apple pen(you can get an alternative pencil for $30 and works just the same) and not having a trackpad, you basically will spend 435 and you will have a complete product. 💯
Take it from someone who bought the 2021 M1 pro. My device performs absolutely no better than generic iPad because the software is very limiting at the moment

It seems crazy that in the UK some retailers are selling the 8th generation iPad 32GB for £299 but you can buy the 9th gen 64GB version for £20 more seems like a no brainer even if you don't take into account the newer processor or new center stage camera. You're quite right about the rear facing camera, at best I might use it to show somone something if I'm on a Facetime call but you don't really need a top quality camera on a tablet. I do laugh when I see somone taking a photo outdoors or at a museum using a tablet 😂
This iPad is more than enough for 90% of iPad users tbh. I have it for studying and creative writing/drawing. For extra compute power, I just got a PC and BOTH this iPad and the laptop combined were cheaper than the iPad Pro.
Good honest review. I did not care for the iPad Air 4 with the finger print reader on the volume button. 64 GB of storage is the same as my iPad Air 2 and more than adequate for me. I am still very happy with my iPad Air 2 but just wanted something newer. I didn’t see the reason to buy a new iPad Pro just for RU-vid content and light web browsing on Safari. I also prefer the fingerprint reader over Face ID.
I bought the 8th Gen last year with 128Gb and I love it , the value is crazy good and I can use it all day at school and play some pretty graphic intensive games on it
When you write on the screen , is it noisy ? I wanna buy a 9th gen but i read that some people said it was noisy to write on the screen especially in classroom
@@wholetthedogsout8097 I use a matte screen protector with a off brand Apple Pencil and it just feels like paper I don’t notice any noise and it helps with glare , I don’t think the noise would be bad or barely even noticeable but I imagine the glass would make the stylus harder to move across the screen
I just ordered the 9th for $250 ! But I truly wish they still had 128 GB available. I got the 64. Besides photo editing on Facetune and RU-vid and socials, I’m a soft user.
Great video explaining everything I wanted to know. I just bought one half an hour ago on sale (the 10.2” iPad 2021) force $299 at Walmart’s website and the compatible 1st gen pencil for $89 and a $40 lit-up keyboard case, all for $420 with discounts and taxes as a birthday gift to my daughter in a couple of weeks. Hopefully it hets here in time. She will be using it for drawing and basic stuff like watching RU-vid and the internet. I just hope the 64 GB space is enough.
I was looking today at the m1 pro 11" for an upgrade from my Air 2 (which I love and would stay with if updates weren't ending soon) but maybe I need to reconsider as I don't want to replace my iMac when it's done and just use an iPad as my only computer. I only surf, social, watch films, light gaming and budget spreadsheet plus tax form filing. Maybe I need to rethink the 9 and maybe use the savings for more storage.
I'm definitely getting this ipad, i never had a premium ipad, and so i won't miss some features. I just wanna take some notes, make portraits for my art class, watch netflix etc. I don't need all that stuff.
I was looking to replace my iPad Air 2 because the screen cracked (I think my dog jumped on it) and it only had 16 gig memory which was a pita. I had considered the mini 6 and the air4. After watching several reviews, I decided that for my use - surfing, FaceTime, RU-vid and email - this is a great option. Ordered it and it should arrive in a few weeks. Your review was very helpful. Not sure if it’s still worth it in 2024 but I just bought this 9th gen iPad for $199. Just started grad school and was contemplating this or the iPad mini 6 which was $399. For a $200 dollar difference and supplemental device to just use for pdf textbooks and note taking…I’ll take my chances with this.
Great video! Some people say that keeping the lightning cable is a negative. Here’s the thing. If your coming from an older iPad that uses lightning cable for charging everything, this is perfect. This way, I don’t have to buy any new accessories when I get an iPad (which would jack up the price even more). People who get the standard iPad do so to save money. So it would make sense to keep the lightning cable so new accessories don’t have to be bought. I have the Bluetooth magic keyboard, Magic Mouse, original AirPods, original Apple Pencil, and iPhone 6s. It’s nice to have one lightning cable that can charge literally EVERYTHING I have. I hope they don’t get rid of the lightning cable for the standard iPad model for a long time.
I completely agree with you. I have no problem with the lightning charger! I love the fingerprint button as well, I actually love that feature. I don’t want to go out and buy new chargers, pencil, keyboard. When you add the prices of all of the accessories to the cost of the Pro you may as well buy a MacBook. I think the apple ipad 9th generation with 256GB. Is Perfect 👍
@@tambij Absolutely! The fingerprint sensor is awesome and I feel is easier to use because the facial recognition can be a pain trying to adjust the face for it to recognize. And 256gb is amazing space for the iPad. I have only 64gb of space on mine and I’ve had it for over 3 years and still have over 20gb of free space.. and I use it professionally for my job with office software on it, and also for gaming, school, and a whole host of things. So 256 is PLENTY! Great points you made! Love it!
Great logical review. I love my gen 4 iPad air, but probably would have got this less expensive version with all it's new improvements, had it been available at the time I got my iPad air. Always love your perspective. Keep them coming...
I just bought this few days ago & I love it, I got me a Bluetooth keyboard too. Walmart didn’t tell me about the keyboard so I had go back again! But I didn’t get the gen 9th keyboard but this keyboard & love this iPad its awesome! I paid $299.99 plus tax for this iPad & $21.99 for the Bluetooth keyboard also.
My friend got my an Apple Pencil for Christmas. Just ordered this iPad to use with it. Gonna enjoy working on math and art on it. My grand daughter who is two, will have fun learning to writing her letters as well. Can’t wait!

Just picked one up for $249 (plus tax) at Costco and I am completely satisfied. It’s much faster (A13) and has much more battery capacity than my previous iPad Air which was about 8 years old.

Go pick one up before they're out of stock because apple discontinued the ipad 9th gen back in may 2024. Amazon is still selling their left over stock
People in the replies don't realize that it's meant to be a basic iPad, which means that it wouldn't get such things as mentioned above, unless they'd do it in 10 years, because knowing Apple, they'd rather sell you an iPad Pro with bells and whistles, so why would they bother selling something cheap with 10.5 inch screen, laminated display and type-C usb? It would probably cost slightly more, but once again, knowing Apple - 200 dollars more I guess

Dude. Thanks for this video. Was toying between the pro and air but this made me think and I believe the 10.2 iPad will do pretty much everything I need. My current Mini 2 still copes with most of the music production stuff I do so I think the A13 will do it even better. Nice one!
I had a (cracked) Mini 2 also.. it just felt sluggish, wouldn't update anymore.. the new iPad was worth it, especially considering that my phone has gotten bigger, so I appreciate the bigger screen
This is a great video. Prior to replacing my old IPad Air, I conducted quite a bit of online research that led me to the 9th gen IPad. So, in order to validate my selection, I visited a local big box store to sample the Apple lineup of IPads. I found that only the 12.9 IPad Pro exhibited sufficient brightness levels and screen size, fitting that which I didn’t previously realize were my own personal vision preferences. Additionally, I added the Apple 2nd gen pencil, even though never having used one. All I can say is that this product, up close, really exceeded my expectations. Cry once, $, well spent.
I had the iPad 6th Gen, Loved it…eventually I sold it and regretted doing so, so picked up the Air 4 couple months ago….DEFINITELY plan to keep this one for Awhile, I actually got the Cellular model so I could stick a SIM card in it and have Wi-Fi on the go
Perfect. My friend went to another friend's house once and brought her iPad Air 4th gen. For some reason she decided to not bring a charger and it just so happens that I told her I had a working USB C cable in my house that was about 5 minutes walk away so I dashed there, and as the cable was USB C to USB A, I also brought along a 12W adapter. Tried it, it worked. My mum thought all iPads used lightning.
My iPad Mini 5 broke when it slipped off my desk. I didn't want to dish out $500 for a Mini 6, so I replaced it with the 9th gen iPad instead (and a small Fire tablet for media comsumption role). So far I have been very impressed. I don't miss the laminated screen, the larger screen works better with shiftscreen, and the keyboard case I got for it is much easier to use than the smaller one I had for the Mini. I love the earphone jack and the touch button at the bottom. I even like the thick bezels because they give me something to hold onto more securely. It is still a current model 2 years later. But it looks like this might be the last budget iPad, as the new iPad gen 10 is something else all together.
awesome value. i'm no apple fan, but was looking to replace kids' tablets with galaxy a8. saw this was about same price but beat it at just about everything. didn't know they even had a $300 ipad.
I use my iPad for content consumption like RU-vid/Netflix and use headphones a lot. I do have air pods and AirPods Pro but I also have ear pods scattered everywhere I might need them. So still having the lightning port is a huge bonus to still be able to use my ear pods and same charging cable as my iPhone was very important and deciding factor for me.
I have an iPad Gen 8 and it has been a great experience… my first… I do have the keyboard and mouse to go with it. I still like the thick bezel areas.. you can grab it and not have it try and change what you are playing, reading, watching…. ..
I personally went for the Xiaomi pad 5 after tough thinking. But that screen and the speakers on this machine are far superior even if Android has some work to do on that interface

But when I found out that I also would need to buy new charger, pencil, and ear pods on top of the high price I have decided to go with the apple 9th generation. I love the fingerprint button also I don’t like to charge EarPods I would rather have the headphone port. I can keep all the same charging cables I already have. I just bought this generation yesterday for $260 WITH TAX!!!! I was like YES!!!! I want this LOL...All i am going to use this for is for all my sheet music when i gig......I do NOT need all the extra bells and whistles that the newer iPads are having....so for me this was a GREAT investment
This my first ipad. An entry level seemed like a good idea for the great price. I wanna use garageband on this rather than using my phone for everything

If a person is on a tight budget cosmetic appearance doesn’t really matter. The iPad 9 has the same display as the iPad 8. The bump up to 64g just made a perfect low end tablet for a much less money. And don’t forget the Bionic A13 chip. I am very content with my iPad 8.
Yes, keep your iPad 8. I think it’s only worth upgrading if you have iPad from 3-5th gen. From 6 till now keep your iPad unless it’s not working or the glass of your screen broke ( happened to my iPad 6 ) and i had to change it for iPad 9 but was working fine . Tech right now in general is quite expensive so if your current cellphone, tablet or computer is working don’t change it till it dies. Sorry if I don’t promote changing it every two years.
There are videos online of the 9th gen iPad being disassembled. They call it a 'teardown'. The A13 chip appears to be 1.5cm x 1.5cm. The largest units are the lithium 'capacitors'. If they caught fire: 🤯👀. It might be an irony if the A13, with its unlucky number, turned out to be 'sentient/conscious'. A lot of work for something a little over 1 cm^2.
I've had the 64,128,&256gb the things are great I haven't took the 256 out the box yet! It's the 9th gen that's why I checked out your video . I really appreciate you for all the great detail . It's very helpful to know all the latest on the upgrades . Thanks Greg for sharing!
With the 10th generation iPad being released I went ahead and picked up the 9th gen for $279 on Amazon! $308 total with taxes. No regrets :) I’m really just using it as an e-reader and for content consumption
Got one for 269 at BestBuy for black Friday. Was dropping off my g14 for warranty work and they quoted 6 week turnaround so I needed something for school.
Yeah, Apple delivered a solid device at a solid price…. I’m still using the 6th Gen as my main computer, and it still has some space left, and it’s fine, but a little slow. The new IPad delivers almost everything anyone would need.
I got one on rebate this year, and it’s really good, fast, smooth, and good for school despite being 2 years old and good amount of updates for about 3-4 years. Even though I like the new design of newer iPads, having the home button and power button makes it easier and the 10.2 screen is amazing for videos and smoothness. Especially, since it’s an LED screen and the sound quality is not that bad, but yea headphones are never bad.
I was told by that is a computer genius!! that every time your apple computer, iPad, iPhone says you need to do a systems update that it actually takes away some of your memory/GB/Ram. And if you think about it it would be a smart move for apple. That would mean that every 2 - 3 years you would need to either pay apple for more storage every month or take you apple products into their store to install more memory or upgrade. I remember my first Mac Book thick heavy it’s white, it has a disc drive one of the last models that had them and that baby still runs like a champ!! Apple made such a great computer 15 years ago that you didn’t need to replace it. I have taken mine into the apple store twice to upgrade & add memory and that is it. Everything works great. I have over 4,000 pictures saved. Pay bills on it every month basically everything that you need is on that computer and I’m so Happy that I never traded it in. Because I think about all the money I have saved. But every 2 years my iPhone gets slower & has a camera problem or backlight goes out etc…..etc. so I don’t always update when it tells me too, I think apple makes really great products and I love them & will only buy apple. But it does make sense if this theory is true & I 100% believe it is. But if they want to make money they can’t have computers, & phones that last forever ( or even 15 years ).
