iPad 6 and iPad 7 Prior Repair Disasters. Are they fixable? 

Thank you for reminding us that sometimes we can overlook things even though we may have the expertise. This oversight can happen to anyone no matter how good they are.

I totally understand your frustration, I work in the industry around repairing different equipment. At times it could get redundant because you're fixing the same issue over and over again. It is easy to get compliant and run into the same situation where there are more issues than you initially thought. So trust me I know exactly how you felt what you saw how awful the TriStar area looked.

2 pads on the far right are missing. Looks like GND and the pads next to them are connected, but still...

I bought the Relife tools kit. They work really well for more delicate components! I can't wait to get the UV light in next; I constantly work on customers HDMI ports with an average of 6-14 torn traces so that'll be so nice for curing the solder mask. Great video as always and thanks for having awesome products on your website. I've never had a single product from you guys be anything less than quality.

Hang on. You said you didn't need to repair some of the pads because they are electrically connected on the board which is obviously true. But they'd also need to be connected on the other end in the circuit that connects to that flex cable otherwise some of those pins could just be floating. It would be easy enough to check with the meter, but it shouldn't just be assumed.

Good fix...........no fix...............IT does not matter, we here learn from ALL of your repairs. I'm so glad that you keep in your videos even the "mistakes" so that we see the possible things that can come up in a fix. My only complaint is that they are too short. BUT, I know that you can't just film all day as you have a business to run. I have wondered if you might send over the "no fixes" to someone else that has more time and wants the experience. I'm sure that your business has exploded exponentially with so much work coming in from people that have heard of your great and honest reputation. Have you thought about bringing in another diagnose and solder tech? I am sure that you are the kind of guy that wants to have complete control over your business including the quality control on everything you repair as your name is on it as is your reputation. Most things are fixable with your knowledge and experience. How much money does the customer have to pay for your time is the question.

Love the videos Alex. Try not to answer the haters..just ignore them. Those familiar with your methods of diagnosis and repairs know why you do what you do. This is the only YT channel I watch everything and I don't skip ahead. =)

it might be nice to fix the tristar but as a technician repairing as a work not as hobby it quite take time , and as you say time is precious when they go they wont be back you can use that time fix other thing . cause a day you have target how many you can fix if 1 problem eating u whole day time it is not gonna worth for you working time unless the customer pay extra for it

60/40 flux core soldier is the best... at least that's what I use.

Good explanation of the pads and replacement of charging flex. Shame a Hiroshima bomb went off with the tri star ic. We all have one of those days. When trying to fix so many devices a day you are likely to miss something. It happens, don't be too hard on your self.

The logic of "we dont need to restore this ground" is not always right. If the other side design has islands of ground and the design used this pin as connecting multiple islands then you are screwed.
