I just successfully made this replacement. What you need to add is the 4 screws you need to remove are super micro small and you will need an incredibly small Philips screwdriver. Fortunately I had just ordered this special screwdriver. Apple wants to make it as difficult as possible to do the job yourself.
Far simpler than other guides I have watched. Just an observation on the voice, slow it down a bit so the words are clear and separate as we need to get the accent and the words. Having the subtitles is a smart move, as is the testing the screen method. A++++++. I now am ready to do mine. Thankyou. update: Cracked my screen, battery works though
Be careful with these models! If you crack this screen or lcd it’s an expensive fix on these iPads, you can replace the glass but you need the proper tools, actually the screen replacement is the most expensive out of all the iPads, the glass screen is glued onto lcd, they dropped that arrangement with the next generation iPads , the battery replacement is quite straight forward as you have shown and thanks foe sharing!
So disappointed. It was a good video, but several suggestions could have been clearer, like how far in using the tool when separating the screen. What is "too far"? I found out, and DAMAGED the screen, making it unusable. I could have avoided that if I knew how far in that was. Like after the cover was removed you could have pointed out the width dimension of the adhesive all the way around. Also if you could have showed a close up view of "the pillar" would have helped to know what the battery connecting was coming up and over on.
You could have easily made your screen bigger. I made sure to watch it on a TV. There is a reason why he uses a very thin plastic card so that that doesn't happen. If you've never replaced a battery before in any electronic device I wouldn't recommend starting with an apple product. I am blind af and saw just fine.
That battery connector is a bit hairy. Remove the screw, and the connector slides in, but the motherboard has to be lifted in order to get the connector in. And it appears to lift the motherboard, it has to be heat separated from the body partially.
I would say starting with 80-100C for about 2-3 minutes around edges. After that with 60c with 1 minute intervals. Some devices can open easily and some are not..it takes time and needs patience..
Thanks. I managed to keep the original glue strip in good order, and just heated it up as I was reassembling. It has all stuck together well. Thanks for the video!
@@adriaanschepel9001 If you drop it, the screen will come of and damage the flex cable. B7000 glues are very cheap like $2, $3 for 25ml. Don't use the original adhesive.
i haven't tried it..it looks the same, but i am not sure it will fit in properly..Because it is not only the logic board, you need to place parts too..so it might not work properly..But again i didn't try before,

Is it possible to buy original (OEM) batteries ? Or can I only buy third party batteries from eBay? I guess those are lower quality and don't last as long? Does anyone have more experience and can advise me?
Hi I wanted to know that is it ok to disconnect those cable (display cable) with out disconnect the display first? Like when I fixing my phone I always disconnect battery before I would do anything My iPhone board once broken because I didn’t disconnect the battery Thanks you.
Well the issue is with most of the iPads are that there is no actual connector. So it is quite hard to unplug the battery. You can undo the battery holding screw. But it is not really helping ( what i think )
OMG I don't undestand why you not use adhesive 0,25 - 0,3 mm for tutorial. Cheap glue B6000 look horrible and this glue use only amateurs. This application is not dust proof....
Thanks for your feedback..if you are using adhesive, you should get pre-cut adhesive. Otherwise it is better use b7000. There are original b7000 glue which is great for devices. But again it comes to individual preferences..
@@DIYGeardo B7000 is not good adhesive. Include resolvent. And stick is not dust proof. After some time this glue have degradation :X And Glass must be 0,3mm over frame. Wjen is down have different shepe :X Construct adhesives are better. But must be proffesional not cheap Chinese production....
I didn't see no glue just on the new batteries had adhesive tape. Got my Son a Air 2 64G when they came out i got it now but the batteries are still fine an stull get good usage time.
I gave up I dont fully understand what to do with the battery connection I tried to lift it op like shown and pull the battery out but it was stuck. Im gna pay to get it done I guess. Also lost a phillips screw in the process those are tiny. I got afraid to wreck the ipad.
Thank you so much for this well done tutorial! My iPad won’t charge beyond 25%. So a battery change is in order. I got my new battery yesterday. I changed it today. How would I trouble shoot if it doesn’t power up after replacing the battery? Is it possible I got a dud battery?
