iPad Not Charging? Here's The Fix!

Amazing. Traveling in London woke up and iPad Pro simply would not take a charge. Walked across town to the Apple store and bought a new charger, no dice. Walked all the way back for a ‘genius’ appointment. The guy ran diagnostic on the iPad. No dice, and since two months past 1 year warranty his prognosis was needs new charging port, which meant 2 weeks in shop and almost full price of a new one to fix (so basically it’s garbage.) Then I found this video! Reboot fixed it and it seems to be charging. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much!! The very first step did the trick. Why have I never heard of a hard reset for iPads before?!??! We hardly ever have issues with our Mac products, though! Our visits to the Apple Store have been due to user error (cracked screens, spilled coffee on the laptop). Our Apple products have always been reliable and they last for a long time. This is only the 2nd iPad Pro we’ve purchased for our daughter in the past 8 years. The first one still works! There’s just not enough space left on it. So, my daughter has all her work on this iPad and there are no appointments at the Apple Store for several days. In a last ditch effort, I did a search and this popped up. Wow! 40 Seconds is all I had to watch. I consider myself pretty good at these things. I was using the VOL-UP and Power to Reset. I was putting the power cord in while holding the power button. Nothing. The hard reset is all it took. Apple Support could not even help me. Saved me from buying a new one. Thanks Guys!!!

I almost had a heart attack when my 5th Generation M1 iPad Pro 12’9 wouldn’t charge today! I tried cleaning the port thing on the pro but nothing. It just wouldn’t work even with different lightening cords. I remembered I had a lightening cord in my bedroom drawer. It only took me a 10 seconds to spot it and it was with a iPad lightening bolt block charger too! I was so excited and hoping it would work! I plugged the cord I found into the iPad charger I found and viola! It worked! I was SO relieved to see the green battery charge come on and when the battery number went up I cheered! Thank you guys!!

Thanks for the video! My iPad stopped charging last night and I used a used a lens cleaning wipe with a toothpick to clean the port! iPad is now charging!
