One thing to note is that the 2015 iPad Pro had a starting price of 799 dollars when it first came out. Pretty amazing how the starting price for the iPad Pro 2020 is still 799 five years later.
Yea right now I upgraded from the 2013 iPad I think to the iPad 7th gen now I am thinking about the iPad Pro space grey M1 12.9 inch display with 100 GB of storage with the folio touch keybored and I will be using that as my main device for probably 10 or less years
This review is especially useful because it represents a realistic period between purchase. A lot of reviewers pointlessly compare new devices to the previous year’s. Few upgrade so quickly, particularly their iPads.
Yes i also have absolutely no problems with mine. The only thing i miss on my 2015 one is a better camera for taking photos of like pdf s but thats not worth upgrading
Just got a refurbished 2016 iPad Pro with 128GB of storage for $125 just for note taking/games. I plan to keep taking pictures/videos with my phone and running heavier programs on my laptop. It’s really cool all that the new iPads can do, but I figured that for simple uses like mine I don’t really need to put that much money into it.
Nice man. I have the original 12.9 and it’s still going strong. I might see what comes out later this year and maybe sell and upgrade but I really don’t feel the need to yet. The rumours of an air in the body of the pro are interesting! Kind of like the current air using the body of the 10.5 inch pro. I’d be down for that!
@@wizerdjuice9589 that is my biggest question cus I replace the battery and it drains in around 3-4 hours in tough work like illustrator or Lightroom, and I don't know if is normal that consumption
If i upgrade to the latest software on my 2015 will it have trackpad support? Also are there any trackpad keyboard cases for the 2015 model? I’d love to have the 2020 version but i told myself I’d ride my 2015 until the wheels fell of.
I think you can, it’s new with iOS 13.4. According to Apple’s site all iPad Pros are compatible! I know Logitech has some super nice trackpad cases, definitely check those out...I think it’s called the Combo touch case!

It has been incredible so far. No issues at all, super fluid. The audio has been a noticeable improvement, watching Netflix at half volume vs full on the 2015. Also like I mentioned in the video the size difference is crazy. The 2020 has the same screen but feels significantly smaller and portable which makes you more comfortable carrying it around. Overall it has been a fantastic experience thus far and if you have the means it is well worth the upgrade! Thanks so much for watching the video, Carlos!

Metz Tech I wanted to ask you a question. Do you know if there’s been any improvements in the glass screen in the last 5 years?. Do we still need to buy a protective screen in addition to a nice case or portfolio?
i bought a Samsung tab s2 back then and i preferred it in 2015 and 2016 but mid 2017 it started getting slow asf (sold now) but if i bought a ipad if would easily last me 4-5 years
I want to buy a 12 inch iPad for illustrations mainly but I'm very frugal. Should I buy the 2015 version? How long will it last approximately? Is it still worth it? Because the price is absolutely great
The 1st iPad Pro from 2015 will now drain the battery fast! I’ve done all the tweaks and have even reset it and the battery can still drain fast even though your supposed to get 10 hours of Wi-Fi. Don’t get the 1st Gen iPad Pro anymore!
@@ScreamkidVR11 I got the battery replaced and it still went down! It wasn’t really the battery I think. Something in the unit was broken. So I got a new one.

Please, don't forget to split your video on parts with titles. It will be more convenient to get needed information in such case.
2015 is doing much better in my hand than those lads with 2020 pro. Here i am saying about drawing and note taking plus annotating. Some buy these for gaming but those who buy the top notch for taking notes by selling 12.9 1st gen are just like idiots
Hi thank u for your work. I'm going to buy a used ipad pro 12.9 from 1st gen for school but i'm planning to use for many years principally for videos, movies and travels. And i wonder how many years from 2020 is the ipad going to work great specially for the os and updates that can give bug and lags.
I haven’t gotten my hands on one... may make that another video! I’m not much of an illustrator and I don’t ever need to sign documents so I never feel like I will use it to it’s full potential... I have the new Magic Trackpad case on the way as well!
Thanks for the video. Question. My dad has a 2015 iPad Pro but the lcd is messed up so it would cost me $250 to fix. Is this worth fixing versus getting a newer iPad? I just need it for note taking at school and I’d probably get a keyboard to type papers. Mostly school stuff.
I think if I were in your position I would spend the extra $100-150 to get a newer normal iPad! It will serve its purpose for typing and note taking! Thanks for checking out the video, Gabe!
If I’m not mistaken there have only been two generations of Apple Pencil, so the first generation one should work. Although I would be surprised that either one wouldn’t work! Which gen is yours?

I'll have to listen to the video ALL the way through again lol. But I'm using a new MacBook Pro its about 3mths old and wired AKGs cuz their the only headphones that don't hurt my ears at night. And I just remember trying to see if your shirt or what was causing the audio to lower and then come back...I knew it wasn't any of the equipment I was using bcuz the vids before and after were fine. Idk? Like I said it definitely wasn't meant as a mean thing I was glad that yt algorithms finally worked and took me to a completely new channel that I enjoyed.... just wanted you to know your audio was glitchin. And I did just watch a vid were you showed Apple Car Play? Audio was perfect... but I'm sure you have different set ups?
