I’ve had the 11 inch for about 3 something years now. I absolutely love it for its portability, that I can just slip it in the side pocket of my gym bag and work on school stuff while my kid plays in the pool and stuff. It’s super light, and I basically use it all the time. The only thing that makes me want to upgrade is that I like to read my literature while taking notes simultaneously, and it makes the note taking real estate considerably small. It was fine in undergrad because I mostly did math stuff, but In grad school most of the stuff I do is reading and taking notes, so that’s a con for me. It is definitely doable, I do it all the time, but if you are going to primarily be using it for dual screen reading and note taking, I’d suggest the 12.9.
i think the title is misleading, I came here for the comparison of the iPad pro 11 and 12.9. But in the video content is compares both the iPad air and iPad pro 11.
I own the iPad Pro 2020 11 inch 128GB LTE cellular model. I recommend the cellular model 11 inch due to portability and price-saving cost for students.
I have this cellular 2020 11in model in the 25gb and I highly recommend the cellular version. I have been so many places even my home and the wifi has been spotty or there were none. It so easy when out internet acts weird which happens time to time to just disconnect from wifi and pick up on my zoom calls
@@ArcherNewton it will so it’s truly ones preference and what they can afford monthly or what’s important to them. But I can see how that may be cheaper for a college student vs paying for WiFi you could hit spot off your iPad.
@@ArcherNewton For me is not about money is more about convenience which is why I choose the cellular model. Like I said I don't want to be confined because of lack of wifi. And I understand not everyone can't afford the cellular.
I got yesterday M1 iPad Pro 11”, 256gb and Cellular. I really like the fact it cellular, so I can get full iPad experience on the go. But to be fair I really in doubts if 12.9 was better choice, The problem is 12.9 Celullar out of stock currently. I was about to buy 12.9 cellular, but only 12.9 Wi Fi was available, so I go with 11” and Celullar. Still really in doubts if 12.9 was bettter choice for work at home. I still have iMac 27” for heavy work, but very often I like to lying in bed and to do some small work, and I can’t understand what’s better for this purpose.
With the 12.9” portability takes a hit and with the 11” productivity takes a hit. That is not to say that the 12.9” is not portable or that you can’t be productive with the 11”. Pick what you value more.
I upgraded from a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9" to the M1 11" iPad Pro. Not going to lie the size makes a difference but overall it's been a better experience in usability & productivity (for me) with the 11" iPad Pro. With the upgrade (trade in), it only cost me $460.
I have the 11 inch and I think it's too small for drawing and note taking. I am still using it until I trade it in for the next ipad pro with an 13 inch display.
Actually, I don’t need an iPad because I need to do computer programming using my Mac and I am a computer science student (who will attend university soon), but this video clearly describes the new features and benefits on 2021 M1 iPad Air&Pro and I learned them. Thanks for sharing!
If I already have a Desktop would an iPad be worth it for personal art projects, note taking, reading textbooks and viewing entertainment? I have the money, just don't know if I should get a MacBook Air or iPad Pro in addition to my Windows desktop PC. Thanks in advance
the iPad Air m1 comes with 64gb and costs $700. for $50 more you can get the 11 iPad Pro m2 128gb which also has 120hz display which is amazing for drawing and note taking
i mean buying something that is over 1000$ for school, work, editing summarizing, and doing a lot of stuff with it is definitely not a trend my friend maybe for rich kids.. but not for most of college students who are out of their budget all the time, ipad pro or any ipad actually had proven how productive they can be so that’s why lots of people want it, anyway nice video
I am also in Medicine college(2nd semester) and in this semester I feel like there are so many lectures and books to study so I can't always go and print them, it takes time and money, I just want one time payment for maybe untill I finish college. So I want an iPad/Tab for note taking, study and also for college work like MS word, Powerpoint, Excel etc... you might know what I mean since you are in medicine college too. And for the iPad/Tab, I am stuck between M1 iPad Pro 2021 12.9 Vs the Samsung Tab S8+, I don't know which of one to buy, both are great. The iPad is 875$ for 128Gb and the 8+ is 799$ for 128Gb, also there is the 11inch iPad 128Gb for 799$. I haven't used an iPad or an apple product before so I don't know if I like it or not. I have always had Android phones, and I like how open the system is like you can download apps outside play store and it has a lot of customisation. Could you tell me which one to choose and why?
Thank you for this Content Archer, I used to have back in jurassic times a A5 Format Wacom connected to my PC but drawing on it was pain for me. Do you think that the 11" is really unpleasant to use compared to the 12.9" for drawing? Thanks again, Max
Hey Max thanks for your comment! I think the 11" and 12.9" will be a massive upgrade and you'll be happy with either - if you're having trouble deciding you can always go into an apple store and test them out :)
hey archer a question - what do you recommend is better for me as I am a student and I need a magic keyboard also so pls tell me which iPad is good for me ?
Hi Aadesh, it really depends on if you need a tiny bit extra performance from the pro because the air is more than fine for school and it depends if you want to write or sketch things, if so then you probably want the ipad air too :)
Thank you so much! That’s really helpful. Also, I could only afford the 128 pro, but I’m hoping it’ll be enough storage. For my needs, it should be perfect, I don’t do video editing, just some photo editing, some drawing and taking notes. I filled my previous iPad (256 air) with tons of apps, a bunch of games, some videos, and a LOT of photos and I only used like 70 gigs or so, so fingers crossed I’ll be fine. They need to offer the air in 128. Glad it was available for the pro. Thanks again, I’m super excited!
Oooh that's pretty interesting yea, hope you love your 128 pro :) I'm in the process of choosing a tablet myself and am definitely torn between an 128gb model with 12.4" or 256gb model with 11" screen, some tough choice! Can see myself going 256 though :) lmk how you get on with your iPad though, hope you love it
@@zaylek6568 I had exactly same doubts between 12.9 or 11” with 256 and 5G, I tested both size in store for half hour, and I feel 12.9 just too big If I want to take it with me everywhere. So yesterday I got 11” 256gb and cellular, But when I watching different videos I still in doubts if I made a mistake or not. I actually love the 11” size, but when I imagine how bigger 12.9 screen I feel like “why I not got 12.9 it’s better”. Lol . Btw I did small unboxing video of my 11 in my profil. I still in doubts, I just really like to hold iPad in my hands sometime, and I feel 12.9 too big for this. Still 12.9 not that heavy at all, just same weight like my old iPad 2. But because of it size I found it not comfortable to hold in hands
@@DIVERGENTSMC ah yea I totally get that, I really hope you love your iPad. Will definitely check out your unboxing video now :) I think I'm kind of in the same situation as you really, I'm torn but I think I'll probably go for an 11" just due to the size being pretty big and I need it to be as portable as possible really. Think I've mainly decided on the 11" but do still have some doubts pf, it's so hard to decidee
@@ArcherNewton Daaaang! Okay that explains it lol Sorry about the price increases! Maybe if you come and vacation in the US, use it as a tax write off by documenting your journey to buy a new Apple product here? And for cheaper =) [Well unless we don't have the same tax system, then disregard this hehe]
Got the 11. At first I was like.. uhhh I think 12 inch would be great. But then when I i started using 11 this sh!t is already big enough 😂 glad I bought this one and not the 12.
I went with the iPad Pro M1 12.9 base model. It is overpowered for what I do but it will be very future proof for 4 to 5 years which is how long I usually keep my iPad Pros. With the keyboard the new logitech combo touch is awesome with many more angles, much more protection than the magic keyboard. And much cheaper. That's what I went with.
Im really wondering if the wifi/cellular is needed when I go to buy mine. I want to be as future proof as possible to avoid making big spends consistently. What do you think?
adding cellular makes the ipad an ipad. if you dont get cellular just get a macbook. if its for work ditch the ipad get a macbook. pretty much m1 macbook is much more future proof then an ipad cause ios is terrible software. ipad only beats the macbook versatility and media consumption
@@TaroAUS i mean if u really need cellular ur probs not far from your phone just tether ur ipad to your phone or hotspot it. I see no real need for the cellular stuff
Hii Archer Does 12.9 inch mini led display on long hours of reading and watching online classes strains eyes because it has pwm is 11 inch ipad pro 2021 better because it doesn't use pwm pls clarify me
I am so disappointed with my purchase on Ipad Pro 12.9 Its my first time in apple world and I didnt know I cant drag and drop my downloaded movies to play in ipad. I am so disappointed I cant believe such big company cant even do this simple thing. I want to go back to android now to be honest... WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE
Rest In Peace, Technoblade we all love ❤️ you and miss you 🙏❤️✝️😌👍💕🌍🌎😇🥹😍 and you have made a big ginormous impact on everyone’s life with your wonderful beautiful amazing good and great content and kindness and you are a big inspiration to everyone and everyone single person in the world 🌍
@@ArcherNewton I have been considering purchasing the paperlike but I have heard that it scratches very easily, gets dirty and wears down the apple pencil tip. Have you experienced this?
12.9 is not so huge what people say in the internet , I have that & its very much portable and helpful in multi-tasks better in split screen etc. 11inch is too small for multi-tasking
@@lizardgod1790 Definitely bro in 11 also good once you get used to smaller screen. I am used to 12.9 since 2017, so I feel comfortable on 12.9. Its up to personal choice bro. Enjoy your 11 inch ipad.
my main use for ipad would be for drawing and sculpting should i get the 12.9 inch model or 11 inch model and is there a performance difference between the two?
Dude... My back used to ache. There are so many books in university let alone for all the 9 year 12 subjects I took...... There aren't even textbooks to carry at 9...
*cries in broke* But yes, tablets are awesome - just got my Samsung Tab s6 lite last week! Absolute game changer for digital notes too, I never liked mind mapping because I'm err... Spatially inept HAHHAA so paper mindmaps are horrible I also only use black pens, but with digital notes I'm more willing to use different colours that helps things stand out more
I had earlier 12.9 inch iPad with 128 gb pro but due to heavy size I traded it for iPad pro 11 inch with 256 gb but now I am regretting as if think the size is small for me. I always feel demotivated and stressed. I think I have made blunder mistake. I always remain upset. What should I do ,can you please suggest. Is 11 inch good for note taking?
You may need to get therapy to help with the stress and demotivation. However, if you prefer the bigger screen size then try to switch it out. Both will be good for taking notes if you can get into it
