The pro and the 12.9. But I got the m4 13inch. I will always choose Oled over lcd or even mini led and also 120hz. That alone is worth going for. But if between the air m2 and pro m2 it would be the12.9 because mini led is superior to lcd and 120hz.
As someone who plays mobile games on iPad, 120hz display is a must. In fact 120hz is the primary reason why I bought pro m2, 2 years Edit: I’m not an artist nor I work on ipad
120Hz was never a big deal for most designers, actually. This isn’t anything that used to be a deal breaker beaten by the introduction of Apple Pencil Pro, it’s a nice-to-have but ultimately, most designers don’t care.
The iPad Pro has 10 GPU cores, while the iPad Air has 9 GPU cores, which explains the 10% difference in graphics performance. I discovered this information by comparing both iPads on the Apple website.
usually people tend to notice that the ipad air is brighter but i personally think that this is just a illusion because LCD displays fall short to display accurate blacks and tend to make it greyish which leads to this illusion of brighter display
But apple will stop supporting the older model first so you get less years of use. Go with a new device for longevity and pick the best one you can afford.
Should be lots of choices on the re-sale and refurb Market for iPads. I just bought a base iPad Air 5 M1.....NEW for S399. This won't last as the iPad Air 5 fall out of stock. If the 64GB storage is not an issue...this is a terrific value.
Been waiting for that comparison as I bought a new ipad pro m2 in april 24 with a huge discount and was more or less forced to make a decision before knowing what was about to come. Only downside for me is the missing compatibility of the new apple pencil pro - still pissed about that apple 😫. I mainly use it for studying and just love the sound and face id feature. Only question left: Is there any difference when it comes to battery life ? If your not sure I suggest trying them hands on - for me the speakers and 120hz are pro worthy. I‘d probably save some money and go for the new cheapest pro model - I‘m a sensitive guy and the speakers are just really important to me. Walked in my living room the other day and was wondering if I turned on the TV but it was my Ipad laying on the couch.
Oh! I know why this happened with the iPad Air being slower. If you look at the new iPad Air on Apples website, it is shown to have 9 GPU cores. It seems to be that Apple has binned the GPU on the new iPad Air to have 9 cores so they’ll have a higher yield with chip manufacturing.
The iPad pictured is a 5th get, which is the M1, not the M2. Considering that the current M4 256Gb 11 inch model is 999 (899 with education discount), this comparison is not valid.
The new iPad Airs just make no sense. There at least should’ve been an M3 chip with mini-LED display in the 13” model, not to mention the ProMotion technology…
is it possible that there will be an alternative pencil with barrel roll that's going to be compatible with the old ipad models including the ipad pro m2?
Like I have always said. You pay for what you get. It’s like going from a Cadillac and down sizing to mid size Chevrolet. I tried down sizing. It totally stunk just my opinion
Hello tech people!! Can anybody find out how to use ipad in a CVAT tool on a platform (safari, google, firefox or any browser). CVAT is a data engine learning that supports various annotation tasks and formats. Unfortunately, they say ipads are not supported. 😢
@@manoharmeka999 Yeah interesting, but in my country the technology of even Wi-Fi 6E isn’t at its levels still. But yeah, probably best to wait for wwdc to see if these iPads are really worth the upgrade.
@@satxrnhimself even mine 2018 one is broken, unusable still am hesitant to buy new one because of bad speakers on 11 inch. I feel it's better to choose a MacBook Air over this. Apple is hiking 2 steps and then stepping down one step. They want to charge $1,299 for the entry level but somehow are hesitant in doing so.
@@manoharmeka999 Yeah but I thought of a Mac Studio and iPad Pro combination. Or maybe an iPad Mini and MacBook Pro. MBP > MBA just because of the air vent.
I have the iPad Air, 11 inch m2, connected to a 27 inch dell monitor, with the Logitech 780 keyboard (great keyboard by the way and way, way cheaper than the apple keyboard), and Logitech pebble mouse, and for kicks the HDMI adapter has a slot for an external drive (which I have a 256GB sandisk; doubling the storage capacity of the ipad) and a power connection. What I am saying is this thing literally is a computer now. Now I am going to download photoshop and if it works; which it should; than my m2 13 inch MacBook Air is in trouble.
What should I buy 13 inch ipad air m2 or 11 inch ipad pro m4 and I don't want old gen ipad . What you suggest 13 inch air or 11 inch ipad pro m4 for digital art and animation . ❤❤❤❤❤
As always, great review and video.. i just got my ipad 11” M4 with 1TB. The only thing that I did not like so far was the volume button. If the ipad is on the portrait mode, the volume is normal which is the up button is high and down button is low. However, if the ipad is on landscape. The volume up is on a opposite direction. Has any one know how to change the confuguration of the up and down button on lanscape mode?
@@Noah_316 I got the 11” due to portability and a little thicker from the 13” . Easy to carry and fit on any back. But it all comes down to your preference.
@@devilsthumb i do not have that option on my new ipad pro 11 inch (M4) 1TB. all I have is setting/sound. I didnt see anything like “fixed position volume controls”. My current IOS 17.5.1 (F21F90). Do you have the same ipad I have?
excuse me, can my 2nd gen apple pencil use for the ipad air M2? as i got 1st gen ipad pro 11” (2018 ver.) and logitech keyboard. if not, for my case, ipad pro 11” gen4 is more suitable? or might be its the time to upgrade to ipad pro M4 with new pencil pro and new keyboard? idk, how about your thoughts? (as i have a lot of study materials in icloud, i need to use apple products for facilitate my study)
Bro i've always been inloved with ipad. Though i can't afford 1. I'll use it for editting and graphic designs for my work. Maybe, just maybe, you can give me your spare ipad?🙂🙂🙂 A reply would be Very much appreciated
It's borderline torture, idk how apple is selling the air still at 60hz. Even 90hz would be 100 times better, 60 is unusable for anything. I just want mine for school and now I gotta pay much more just for some extra frames
@@GuitarReverie now you’re just exaggerating as the average user doesn’t care for refresh rates just goes to show just how spoilt and entitled people have become.
I agree that if you plan to use your Ipad for 1 thing primarily: content = M2 Ipad Pro, drawing = M2 Air. However for an all-around usage, Ipad Pro has much better value and it isn’t even close.
@@kiri3639 it's not "better". You just don't notice the high refresh rate when drawing typically. But it's more apparent when you consume more diverse content.
This is one of the most helpful comparisons I've seen. Thanks so much for putting together this thorough analysis - it's exactly the kind of content I was looking for to help decide between these two great iPad options. Keep up the great work!
Appreciate a lot. I will enter med school soon. I can't afford iPad Pro 2024 so I was confused between iPad Air 2024 vs old iPad pro. I'm going for old iPad pro. Thanks, buddy.
Just bought the iPad Pro 12.9 inch six generation 256 g brand new at BJ’s for $900. I got a logitech keyboard case 42% off for $129 on Amazon. The iPad Air being stuck at 60 Hz, two speakers and no face unlock, really sucks. Also bought a aftermarket pencil for $24 with magnetic charging. What I like about BJ’s is you have 90 days to return it instead of Apple’s chintzy 14 day policy.👈👀🤷♂️
