iPad Pro M2 vs iPad Pro M4 Speed Test - In this video, we will find out how much of a difference there really is between these two! Share your thoughts, questions, and comments, and enjoy the speed test!
I have the Pro M2 - brought it 6months ago and love it. I was able to use my existing Apple Magic Keyboard & pencil so was exactly half the price of the M4 counting accessories.
Who cares about speed tests in 2024? There is barely any difference. If you really want to compare, do a gpu intensive task like rendering a 4k clip or heavy gaming.
I did this same side by side at the Apple Store and didn't see a $500 difference. The Pro has the better screen and the speakers get a little louder but there isn't a huge gap in the user experience overall. I got $330 trade in credit for my 11" 2018 iPad Pro so the upgrade to a bigger screen was under $600
I bought an M2 iPP at release upgrading from a 2020 and am super happy with it. My husband uses the 2020 for work now and is really happy with it for what he needs to do with it. No reason to upgrade to the M4, if we do well upgrade the 2020. But again, no real reasons to. Great comparison though.
Looking at the miniLED on the M2 iPad Pro, it’s looks almost the same with the M4 iPad Pro. The huge difference is between the M1 iPad Pro Vs the new M4 iPad Pro, the display different is night and day
@@od1sseas663 read my comment again in case you didn’t get it has a miniLED display which is 97% closer to oled, are you telling me of a product I know very well or what?
I love OLED displays. But sometimes the blacks be so dark that it’s hard to understand the images or videos on screen. Sometime the software doesn’t illuminate some of the things on screen even when dark. So I prefer LCD for videos. But OLED for just normal use.
I’m using the M1 and have been for two years and I’ll be completely honest with you. I don’t see how It can get any better than this. I love my M1. This tablet is still blowing away every other device I’ve ever had and it’s gonna be supported supposedly until 2028 or 29 hopefully from what I hear. Either way I know it’s still gonna be supported for at least three more years with updates and even after that with all of the specs that come with this M1 tablet it will still provide plenty of compatibility for all of my RU-vid and Facebook needs. If you get the m1 2021 version you’re gonna get to experience all of the basics that the M4 has Not to mention with plenty of memory, I absolutely love this m1 tablet. By the time I update this I’m sure I would have already replaced the battery once. They say the battery is the only thing that breaks on these ipads
I wish RU-vidr knew how to test the pro devices properly. The speed and ram doesn’t come into play until you have big files and projects in them. If you really want to push it, load up a 10 minute 4k projects with color grading and effect in Davinci resolve. A full 22 page comic project in clip studio that is heavy on the layers, a heavy 4k animation project with 100s of drawing, tweens and 20 layers, a heavy poly sculpt in Nomad. I’m sure there are some heavy music files in Logic to test. I don’t buy the iPad Pro for Subway surfers or Jetpack joyride. Jeez, please be more useful. These tests are fine for phones and casual users, but for someone with real reasons to buy an iPad Pro it’s kinda useless.
Very subtle differences. I would love to see a real-world task test comparing the first and last generation M, specifically with devices using different memory sizes, for example: comparing an iPad Pro M1 with 16gb ram VS iPad Pro M4 with 8gb ram. We need to know if Apple is really innovating significantly across a wider range of generations. Certainly an iPad Pro M1 with 16gb will be cheaper than an iPad Pro M4 8gb, but I would like to see if, even with the difference in price, it would be more worthwhile to buy an M4 considering only tasks such as rendering a 4k clip. Can you make a video with this comparison?
I was wondering if you could do the M1 11” vs the M4 11”. Would be interesting to see if there is any difference! Watching from mine, it’s certain that the M2 would be practically the same.
Just got my girl the M2 ipad pro for Christmas and she still loves it. Glad there’s not too much of a difference since i was going to trade in the old one to get her the new one
The pencil pro has many features? Isn’t the only new feature is the extra button on the bottom ? Besides that the OLED is probably the main difference.
Keeping my 11” M2 Pro. Extra speed isn’t needed, display may be better but so what. They took away the ultrawide camera and one studio mic in the new Pros.
You only real notice the difference when you have to do high CPU activities like encoding video or loading 200Mb photoshop files. Otherwise, although the M4 is faster, it’s not super obvious on most things.
You should’ve compared the 12.9” with the miniLED with the 13” OLED to see how drastic is the difference and if it’s the almost twice the price difference.
Yeah but i wanna know how much it gives you battery backup now after almost6-7 years?4-5 hours minimum?it depends on everyone’s usage but still I wanna know how far i can go with my m2 ipad pro that bought back in august2023
@@abdullahazeem8644 4 Hours of PUBG Mobile. and that contains heavy graphic processing. So I'm assuming that'd translate to about 6-7 hours of Normal usage? I checked my battery health using a computer software and it shows 85%. I don't find that bad for a 7 Year old device. Plus I have the latest software and I feel like this could last for a few more years. There are no crashes or any other problems by the way. In your case, You'll be okay up to 2030 I guess. Also depends on how heavy you use it and how damaged the battery becomes with time. I have used this for Gaming Mostly. Feel free to ask anymore doubts about the iPad experience by the way. I'll be happy to Help
@@marvelleprasetya4562 Somebody was selling it off on ebay which came with a Folio case and a paperlike applied for £450 that had been rarely used at all perfect condition like new. Got a bargain I would say!
thanks nick! would you say the new oled screen has a warmer color temperature than the m2? did you see any of the grain people are talking about on the new screen?
People need to understand electric circuits, speed depends om them. M4 is the way to go people can stay with M2 for their reasons. I definitely want larger screen like cinema. Samsung 14" ultra has far larger screen than M4 13" screen. Lenovo P12 has 12.7" larger than M2 12.9". ios is great to meet people, depends on people like to carry for.
In my opinion at the moment, the iPad Pro M4 needs to be optimized in many games for it to actually perform better than the iPad Pro M2. I tried a iPad Pro M4 out at the Apple Store and in many games like Asphalt 9, the iPad drops to like 30 Hz very frequently.
Are they both at their lowest specs? Because with 128 gigs of default memory M2 iPad will have slower disc I/O speeds. That might explain the game launch speed difference.
@@jamonleecarter8698 very true actually but they 3 years apart from each other m4 is new while the m1 was 2021 to 2022 when the m2 iPads pros came out but apple 🍎 products they don’t really have a difference in speed so yeah thanks 🙏 for your advice
Always M2, it provides dual camera. M4 pro series came with single camera. I assume apple will add dual camera if they release ultra model or anything higher than pro. (Rare topic)
The difference in speed and performance between the 2 is really negligible, as there is barely anything that will make the M2 chip utilise its full power, let alone the M4, both run comfortably well. You will only notice some difference when it comes to emulation/emulation games, and it's still not that big, around 15-20% performance increase.
The big speed test would be if you've got one of those 2018 or 2020 ipad pros with the A12X/Z to do a test between that vs M4. Even the M1 shoudlnt be that far behind
I just bought the m2 512 with cellular for $400 off from best buy. Already had a 2020 keyboard case from Logitech and Apple Pencil 2 so it makes sense logically but I went to Best Buy to check out the M4 iPad Pro just to see if i made the right choice and thought it can’t be that much lighter and thinner but with the m4 in hand: “dang this is light…wow the screen looks great…sheesh having the camera in landscape mode is nice…the new Magic Keyboard looks beautiful with it, the new pencil is only the price of a pair of sneakers” I’m stuck lol anyone wanna help me out with this decision and fear of missing out?😢😢
i have the 11" ipad pro 2022 M2 im running IOS18 beta i notice i dont have the option smart HDR in camera setting and not sure why any ideas why its not there in my camera settings? could it be because IOS18 beta? my old 2018 ipad pro IOS17 has smart HDR in camera settings...
forget about the your speed test , iPads don't really need much speed. look the display on the iPad Pro holysh** it's stunning.. the iPad Air with a decent screen look like Stone Age screen compared to this new iPad Pro screen.
