I am getting the S6 lite. The reason is expandable storage and it it comes with Wacom stylus also the price. I already calculated that with a screen protector and case, I am still spending less.
@@anggarar1995 I just got my S6 lite yesterday and really haven't played around too much, but I did download Krita and I like it. For some reason, I like it better on this device than my Acer Switch 5 2017 model, which is a full computer.
I'm here and I know that I can't afford either one of those 😂 Update (2023): I finally bought an ipad and its totally worth it 😭 I live in the Philippines and it's really difficult to buy apple products (even some android gadgets) if you're not from a well-off family. Even with scholarships and work, people still struggle to buy their daily necessities and wants. So being able to buy one is like winning a game match that you've been practicing for. Hope you guys will get what you want too! Have a lovely day 😌
I love watching things i cant afford Update 2021: still cant afford Mid 2021 update: I've been saving up my commissions for this. Hope y'all get your dream gadgets soon. 2022: still broke🥹 Mid 2022: i got the xiaomi mi pad 5 and it's worth the wait🫶
I'm rooting for Android all the way. It's catching up quick in terms of technology and (as usual) offers more value per product. It's only a matter of time before app development catches up too, and Krita is a huge step in the right direction. I already ordered my S6 lite and I can't wait to use it!
it’s catching up in term of technology?i don’t agree with you because android is more advanced in many area than apple.quick charge, camera, wireless charging, pen support, water resistant device etc... android start first and usually take about 2 to 3 years before apple join them so i don’t think android is catching them up in term of technology
@@Joker-yu5kp Oh yeah, when I wrote this I was thinking about the screen size. The S7 is rumoured to be a 12.4-inches. Otherwise, yeah I agree - the hardware is just way better.
@@Imagenation08 fingers crossed mate, Samsung made a huge mistake cancelling production of their 12 inch Note Pro series tablets back in 2015. I'm still waiting for the biggie now; so hopefully the Tab S7 will bring back that gorgeous 12 incher tablet we all need to create and make art.
@@herooflegend2602 i dropped my android phone like more than 15 times and it works just fine except for a scratch in the temper glass.....and people have the audacity to say android break easily...i guess people with iphone only say this because they never put their iphone down cuz they know that it will be in pieces lol
@@hyakki5287 gladly it does come with the case in my country. Its an awsomd case. Slim, minimalist, strong magnets and it has a place to keep the s pen.
I think one of the biggest issues with developing for android is that there is a huge range in hardware specs from one device to another. Something Apple doesn’t have to worry about.
@@shrithanosmaharaj8679 Yes, it is great for taking notes. I write really fast but that Wacom Spen and panel combination is glorious. No matter what note taking app is in use, the tablet always keeps up and responds perfectly to how fast my handwriting is.
@@shrithanosmaharaj8679 I assure you it's quite great ^^. Good for it's price and the pen slides really well on the screen! I'm still in the process of finding a case and screen protector at the moment. I use it for drawing, but note taking must work just as well!
Thanks brad for the comparison. I have decided to buy the S6 lite. Yes. You are right. There may not be enough good software for the android. But the tablet is very good for less price. Might as well risk my money in hope of getting new softwares in the future on the android ecosystem. I mean someone has to bear the weight in order to make the way. Why not me?
@@muntamim Sketchbook Pro also saves their own tiff file in addition to the PNG picture stored on the main folder. You only need to make sure to copy the folder named SketchBook 3 where the app saves the original file automatically. Needles to say that if you open the file on a PC, you'll see all your layers and effects organized in the same way you have it on your original art piece; so it's not a flat image.
@@yaslinegonzalez359 Krita can't release on the Apple store because of conflicts between apple's user agreement and Krita's publishing license. So it will only be on Android. And it's basically a desktop clone of Photoshop, for free. What more do you need?
@@mj7647 really? Hmm.. I've seen one. But the one I saw had a screen protector on, so that made a worse impression. I use an iPad Air 2. Im planning to upgrade to an iPad Pro 10.5
He used different drawing apps, I use that Android app (Ibis paint) on my phone too and it always lags because it's an app problem. He has probably the stabilisation turned on or something
I bought the s6 lite after watching this 8 months ago and best decision I've made I've always just doodled and doing it digital always caught my attention now I'm doing a little more than random doodles lol thanks for the awesome informative reviews
I love my tab s6, but when I saw the lite version I really wanted the S-pen that came with it. But now I've had my baby for almost a year with no complications at all and I want to upgrade to an iPad. All because of procreate it has all the shortcuts and things I want for cutting down my time on art. I also know clip studio came to the Galaxy store but I don't want a dumbed down computer program for my tablet that I gatta pay a lot for, plus the canvass is small with all the extra stuff on the screen. Procreate is just a perfect version of infinite painter. I can't wait to get my iPad 12.9 saving money is the key to get what you want outta life.
Andrei C really? Huh, I’ve never felt drawn to the Samsung tablets, even now. Idk, the quality and usefulness of the Apple Pencil, clip studio and procreate made an iPad a no brainer for me. Was looking for a mobile drawing platform and nothing comes close for that price point. What draws you to Samsung more? I’m very interested in a different point of view?
@@AaronCasey92 He didn't say he's an artist, and i assume many people who watch this video are not an artist and in that case the S6 is better than the ipad in terms of hardware since it got better screen, more storage, and freedom customizability of android os. The only thing that the ipad is better than the S6 is in the software and that is only for artist so i understand if the majority of people who are not an artist would prefer the samsung
@@nonameyet2205 True, I am not a pro artist I have an iPad (6th Generation) I am drawn more towards the Samsung bigger better quality display and newer design is something that I really like along with the fact that you get stylus included is a deal maker. iPad OS is good but not necessary better in terms of normal use.
@@AaronCasey92 am not really sure they will release krita on ios even if they do procreate will probably release their app on android so that they more popular
Just ordered this so I'm glad you made a review on it because I was nervous about it's function and ability but it seems to be good so thanks for that. :)
Brad is great. Very entertaining way of representing things. I wish I could hang out with you. Would be a lot of fun. Also thx, the comparisons are the best on the web
I just wanted to say thanks for this, after watching your videos, i decided to buy the tab s6 lite. What size of the paperlike did you buy to cut and fit on the tab????? that would be helpfull. Thanks again
Yeah same. I have an iphone 6s plus and I can no longer even use it because most apps on the appstore require ios15 which I can't get due to not getting updates anymore
@@prakhart92 I don't need to take notes, so im not worried about that feature. I can watch RU-vid however. As for calling and texting, no I can't. I didnt have the money for a SIM card so I used Google voice to call. And I wasn't able to download it because it required ios14 or something. If I were to use an older iPhone like my 6s plus, it would have to be strictly used for calls and emergencies. I'm a kid, I wanna be able to download my favorite games or watch Netflix on my phone. But it doesn't matter anymore cause I got a different phone now.
For those who use Adobe Draw: My friend is having an issue when sending file from the tablet to the computer. It says the file was sent but nothing appears on the desktop. Does anyone know how to fix it?
I don't why, but your video became way more interesting to me when I set in twice the speed reproduction. Weird, isn't it? About the content, I'm definitely going for the Tab S6 Lite as my beginner non-professional tablet.
That's a game changer, mostly bevsue Procreate is the only app I've been missing from iOS. I'm trying the beta version of Krita which is wonderful and much better than all other apps out there, including Procreate. Hopefully we will have the offcial release soon.
@@davsdf1 Yeeeah, right now Krita works perfect with keyboard honestly, they should adapt it a bit more for touch screen. But even now, damn, its like a desktop Photoshop on android :D
You mention at 7:48 that there are other pens you can use on the S6 lite. Do you have any recommendations? I've been looking for some online that have a sturdier nib, and the one you busted out looks much more preferable to draw with than the stock pen that comes with the tablet. The nib is just so flimsy imo, but I guess I'm used to pens that have really sturdy tips
Just bought the S6 Lite for myself and I love it. I'm not a digital artist but it is very fun to draw on. It makes me want to learn to draw. Personally I love the form factor because I mostly hold my tablet in portrait mode anyway. My wife has the 7th gen iPad and it's a great tablet. The screen is nice. It runs smooth. I'm just too deep into the Android ecosystem so the S6 Lite perfectly fits my needs.
Looking at you comment, it's been one year, can you review it? And compared to ipad 7, which one would you reccomend? I don't really mind the ecosystem btw
Highly recommend the tab s6 lite. If you like me, can't fork out extra cash for iPad. Tab s6 lite is not too bad. Being drawing almost everyday with my tab s6 lite. It is very fun to use.
Thanks for the review. I have an iPhone and iPad. I would love an Android tablet such as this but my problem is I need text messages that come in on my iPhone to also go to an Android tablet and I haven't found a way of making that happen.
I love the Paperlike screen protector as well. Been using it for months. Do you know how long they last or when to change it? I don't notice the difference and it came with two.
Wanted to say thanks for your reviews , i was able to safe a lot of money by getting the s6 lite instead of a lenovo laptop. Now i am using this with one of the recommended apps in one of your videos and ill be honest, i love it. Using artflow and for my 1st time using a drawing tablet its so easy, epecially compared with my few times i tried to use a digitizer. I was sceptical of how limited i might have been with an android app, but oh boy i was so wrong, the app is awesome, it has a lot of thinks to do and once you get used to it you are totally fine, i even bought the extra features for 5 euros and no regrets, heck not long ago it was 2 euros during discount.
Just discovered your channel. Great video. I am still debating on which one to get. I was a avid iPhone user for years but then switched to Android when the Note 8 came out. I am very much into customization and that is something I found that Apple lacks. I still just don't know yet. 🦊 And I love the artwork. My husband does the same style and I have been trying to encourage him to drawing again.
i thought that was a nice balanced review. The whole apple vs android thing has got a lot closer in recent years with features getting copied from one to the other so it really does come down to being able to run software you want to do tasks you actually want to do. Unless you are using it for social media and buying stuff you don’t need on the internet in which case it really doesnt matter which one you get.
I'm watching this on my S6 Lite and this is one of the videos that convinced me to get it. I've had it for almost a year now and I still love it! I actually don't use my laptop as much these days. I think I boot up my laptop like once or twice a week to do some design work I need a mouse for but if I get a Bluetooth mouse, I probably wouldn't at all. Btw, I have a ton of apps and it never lags. I still have like 50gb left on my storage. My only complaint would be the camera but it's not a deal breaker for me. The mic is great too! Thanks Brad!
I'm looking for my first time trying digital drawing. I never used anything digital for drawing so that's why I'm looking for an Android/Mac tablet in case I don't like it I can still use it as a tablet.. do you recommend me the Samsung tab s6 lite or should I buy a more cheaper or high end tablet? :O
Hey, really enjoy the videos, they're super helpful! Was wondering if you're planning on releasing a video review of the galaxy book flex? I'm considering buying it as my main device. Also, have you ever done a rundown of the best s pens that are compatible with various samsung devices? The pen on the galaxy book flex looks small and uncomfortable.
Thanks a million for making reviews comparing between Tab A 2019 & Tab S6 Lite, then against the non-Pro version of iPad. I’m considering whether to trade in my Tab A 2019 for the ability to draw on the go. So thanks for reviewing the stylus (& thanks for mentioning it’s works without charging), latency in drawing, hardware specs, they are really what I needed to know. It was a plus point to know you appreciated the iPad apps more, for being an iPhone user myself, I’m not surprised, it gives me the right expectation. Plus, Photoshop for not being a Pro-standard drawing/painting app; thanks for that too, now I know I’m not alone! My chin’s definitely up for ur videos, so yea - Thumbs up! Toes for up you too!
This is interesting, I was actually looking for a tablet that compares to the 7th gen iPad. As I was thinking of purchasing the iPad in the future. So this kind of helped me out with regards to my decision. Although seeing as the Samsung S6 Lite seem to be close in competition, now I have to weigh in which one I think is best for me to buy.
Thank you for this review. I was worried about whether or not the Galaxy Tab S 6 lite would be a good for drawing, especially because I'm just about to start learning digital art.
Hey Brad, hope you're well. I'd like to talk to you about licensing this review video to use in a content film we are producing for one of our clients. What's the best way of contacting you please? Thanks
Another great video. Appreciate your opinion. I know how great the Apple pencil is, but it should come with a big asterisk with the win. Another $100 is an additional 1/4 to the total price or something. It just doesn't seem like a fair fight. $100 should not qualify as an accessory, but a separate hardware. But you do mention all these facts out.
I don't use my tablet for drawing BUT you kinda make me want to! LOL. I came here to decide between ipad vs galaxy but for me it's galaxy based on your review of the screen and resolution!. Those are most important to me. Thank you!
I feel like the Spen magnetically charges when you stow it ... It stops working if I keep it disconnected from the tab overnight

Hello, thank you for the great review. I plan on buying the Samsung on Black Friday and would like to know, did you apply paperlike to the samsung as well? Or do you consider it to not need it? Also, does paperlike make youtube videos look different? Does it have some sort of texture to it?
I think it doesn't matter because RAM amount is optimized for the specific device. 3GB on iPad is the same like 4GB on Samsung. However I couldn't get over 32GB storage (actually like 25 GB usable). You can put in 1000 GB memory card in the Samsung...
Hey, what is the name of the drawing app that you were using on the both. Cuz I'm a artist and I love drawings So please reply what was the name of the drawing app ?
@@axelkane3459 how much customization do you want. I think my iPad and iPhone has more than enough customization. RU-vidrs don’t talk about the customization apple has
I was nearly convinced of buying the S6 Lite but then i noticed a problem that made the Tablet unusable for my purposes so far: Orientationdata of the S-pen seems to be flipped and Offset by 90 degrees. That means if you use tilt sensitive brushes that simulate realistic pencil behaviour (like the Proko-Pencil in Infinite Painter) you would need to move them back and forth instead of left and right to shade. Thats really awkward. I checked two devices (here in germany) and its exactly the same. Using the app stylusis and inspecting the raw data confirmed this miscalculation. I would be really interested in seeing this behaviour exposed in the internet to make samsung notice the problem which should be really easy to be bugfixed. Otherwise be aware that this might be a problem for some of you that enjoy using these kind of brushes. Maybe brad could investigate on that?
I'm having a very hard time right now deciding whether to get the Tab 6 Lite or the Note 10+. I've wanted a samsung drawing tablet for years, and now they finally made one at a mid-range price that would be perfect for me (I'm not an artist - can basically only draw kindergarten level flowers). I've wanted to get into the digital art thing because I hate to waste paper, and the one time I tried real acrylic paints was embarrassing. I would love this tablet, but I do the majority of my writing from my phone (currently S8+) and I want a new phone. I could do art and my writing on the Note 10+… decisions, decisions.
*the deal breaker for me is the layer limit in procreate* although I think the drawing experience on the ipad will be a bit better but android have more flexibility
I bought the Ipad (2018) almost 2 years ago and bought Procreate few months ago but.. I still cant buy the Apple Pencil or the apple pencil alternatives cuz they’re all very expensive 🙄🥺
Hey, would you recommend S6 lite/S6 over iPad 8th gen for someone who would step into digital art? I want to gift a tablet to my sister, but problem with iPad is the apple pencil. Overall, for drawing, are they similar?
Your videos always motivated me to draw.. I make comics in webtoon but it's not that good.. I've been warded in a hospital and didn't draw anything for 2 weeks.. After i've discharged, I watched your videos again and thank you, my morale is boosted again.. Thank you thank you😊😊😊
Hey because i mostly would use them for photo editing, can you test the Photoshop vs Photoshop apps and Lightroom on the both platforms too, especially Lightroom on android cause when i maker a preset with more than one overlay and try to put it on another photo the app on my Note 9 typically crashes losing all my editing progress, im curious if the tablet has the same problem
