Haha, it’s sad but true 😆 I barely even use widgets in their current form. How much time did 🍎 waste on ‘perfecting’ the iPadOS widget experience I wonder? - Richard
Hey John, thanks for commenting. I watched your iPadOS reaction video (you mention that you’re a programmer) so your thoughts are definitely valued here. My use case is creative/enthusiast FYI. Do you remember this time last year Apple was equipping developers with Mac Minis (that had an A12Z chip) to aid with the transition of Macs to Apple Silicon/M1? They were running Big Sur, Xcode and whatever ‘pro Mac apps’ they desired on the iPad Pro 2020 chip. I appreciate your pragmatic response to the iPadOS 15 disappointment - I went ahead and cancelled my M1 iPad Pro order - but I just can’t understand what Apple is thinking here. High end users like you and I are willing to pay more for iPad Pros and accessories than we would for MacBooks so why not take our money?? Maybe next year 🤷♂️ - Richard
‘“All we wanted was mactouchOS to iPad Pro not an accessory to MacBook with universal control, tablets is the future not laptops. We good if you got 2018 because M1 Pro superman with kryptonite belt. ”
Yup yup, nobody asked for Universal Control! Control my iPad Pro from a Mac that I don’t have or want? 😬 No, no, no! Give me more control on the iPad Pro itself 🙄 - Richard
Hi Debra, Thanks for watching. Sorry if I made any confusing statements in the video. At this time there is a 5GB RAM usage limitation per app. I was just talking about an imaginary possibility when I mentioned the limitation potentially being increased to 8GM of RAM in future. Do I need my 5000€ look road bike as weekend rider? Of course not but I love it All my friends at cycling club have bikes around 1000-15000€ and some of them 😂😂😂 don’t walk a shit
Yes, there is a decision to be made for all of us on how much we choose to pay for our luxury items. Sometimes ‘want’ is the deciding factor more than ‘need’ and that will be a personal choice. If the M1 iPad Pro is that ‘want’ item for you and you can afford it then you should feel confident and not worry about the cost. Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective Juan. - Richard
Hey Karsten, thanks for letting me know. It’s good to hear from people who have actually laid eyes on it (and who are giving an uncompromising opinion ie: not an influencer) Do you use the M1 iPad Pro for gaming at all? - Richard
☝️💯 Absolutely right! My order is already cancelled. I’m keeping my 2020 iPad Pro and instead investing in the pro apps already on offer from 3rd party developers like LumaFusion, Cubasis and StaffPad. If Apple ever gets around to releasing iPadOS versions of Logic and Final Cut it will be a much tougher sell for them to win me over. I’ve waited for a year and a half to see what Apple might have in store but it’s time to move on and go with the App developers who are already delivering.
