Bruh they need to add eject option on files app, I have literally corrupted drives because apple thinks you can just yank a drive out without ejecting.......
iPad os nests mounted drives in a virtual drive and computes all the edits and uploads to the virtual drive before writing it all at once to the physical drive, if you take it out during this process put it back in and the cache in the virtual drive will clean it up back to before the transfer began
@@flamingkillermc2806 I would say I work at a mobiles device repair shop and use these operating systems daily, but I don’t think that’s gonna work on a Minecraft kid. I know what I’m talking about. They compute a disk image in the same container and then unmount it on iOS and iPadOS devices before essentially flashing it to the physical drive, to make the actual data transfer happening on the disk quicker, but not the whole process. ☺️☺️
you have corrupted drives? I forgot that you can't eject drives and my brain went autopilot and formatted my drive thinking I was ejecting it and I didn't realize what I had done before I saw the progress bar....
I swear: I am switching from Notability to Apple notes and 5min ago I realized the thumbnails don’t update instantly, inly when you reopen the app. I was devastated. Then I saw your video that beta 2 was out and updated. Now they update instantly. :D
To all the people who say “it’s an Ipad.” If it weren’t for those of us who asked and demanded more you wouldn’t have large screen iphones, pens that worked on Ipads, even the Pro level Ipads. We’re paying consumers all we are asking is for our monies worth.
So disappointed in iPadOS 18. They don’t want to make iPad too perfect, Apple made the software so you to still have to buy a MacBook and use this as a device to compliment it. Makes me sad because this could be my everything device but they refuse to give us the OS updates that we really want(Finder + proper multi-tasking)
What you are suggesting would kill their MacBook sales… that wouldn’t be a smart business move. Get a Surface Pro if you want a TabletPC. iPad is perfect for ppl who can grasp the fact they are using a TABLET, not a laptop lol.
The truth is harsher it’s not an os thing.. you’ll never get that because even though you have m1 or m2 etc.. the battery is trash .. it would last 2 or 3 hours with a proper os.. so , sorry you will never get an real os
For stage manager I want the ability to tile like you can on macOS - maybe also the iPhone mirroring finally the ability to right click on a file and open with any app that can read the format
The once thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is the wasted space when you use control centre on iPadOS. Why are they not building a bespoke control centre for iPad. There is so much more they could put in there besides the usual stuff, and it would allow people to have everything they need the most on the fist page if it used up the whole of the screen. While I’m glad they are allowing for greater customisation of iPadOS, they can go so much further. This nonsense about letting iPad be iPad is holding it back. The whole point is iPad used to be something else, and if you want you can still use it that way, but it has so much more capability now, and if they aren’t;t going to make it more capable and flexible then whey are they putting an M4 chip in the thing? The changes to the Home Screen are a precursor for greater windowing without flipping a switch for Stage Manager, which is still not the user experience it should be. When you have answers on the mac then use them where they make sense on the iPad. Nobody will be offended if it starts to look a bit more like MacOS. Those whop don’t want it can always keep it the way they’ve always had it and use it that way without getting in the way of people who do want those other features the Mac enjoys.
Difficult to see against that white background when you point out things like the power button in control center and the plus button for customization.
RECOMMENDATION: You could have bought an SSD for demoing the formatting of an SSD in the Files app That feature will be helpful because for some reason my LaCie SSD which I got for Christmas last year now shows me a date created and date modified as December 31 1969 when I tap on the "Get Info" option on my iPad Files app
@@PedroLopezBeanEaterI mean IF he wanted to demonstrate formatting an SSD It's common sense to use an EMPTY SSD to demonstrate the feature of formatting an external drive
Have you noticed the new iPad Pro being lower in volume at almost all volume levels (except the max) than an iPhone or iPad Air M1. I’m trying to figure out if I got a faulty product: at the store they said it’s the latest update.
The Menu Bar is very promising. Considering we are getting more Pro Apps for iPad, even though we aren’t getting full fledged Mac Apps. I do appreciate that iOS and iPadOS Apps are becoming more distinct.
Your download was likely 6.1gb because it was the first time your installed the iPadOS 18 dev beta. If you did not install the original beta that was released at WWDC, and waited for the Beta 2, the download would be larger than those already using the beta.
@@slickbill9488 stop saying that is because is a tablet, not other tablets are limited like the ipad, is only the ipad that is like that While other tablets are able to flash drives, and emulate Windows games via wine and even android tablets are able to virtualize Windows entirely, so is not a tablet thing stop lying xd
@@sachinnothere lmao, i love technology that's why i like to see any update in software regardless the company But im not a sheep, i have the ability to say if something is annoying or just plain awful, and if having self criteria is" ranting" in your eyes well i will say this it in your own style " keep using your useless ipad os sheep boy" (Also just wanted to add that you didn't said that i was telling a lie, about the ipad being the only tablet that is so limited in software capabilities in purpose unlike any other tablets with android or windows , so why are you attacking my comment if you know is true ? mao )
Caution; many reports of iPadOS Beta 2 bricking devices into boot loops. Fix requires Apple Configurator on a non-Beta Device otherwise it won't mount in recovery mode.
I get its beta, but for a company this big and not building something new from ground up and have hardware/software in house. it just seems past few years, it will happen, maybe not to everyone, but it would happen
