When you observe Apple's iPad Pro M1 to now the M4, the iPadOS development, and the pricing logic, you will see that who limit iPad's professional productivity development are not other brands, but Apple's greediness on profit. Even on the MacOS, you can see that more limitations set on using external drive like clouds on external. They just want you to pay more for the larger SSD.
Great show. I hear complaints about the white charging brick a lot but I like it, my walls are white. It seemed like Apple had a choice for your OCD to consider, either the Pencil is off center or the camera would be. I think the Pencil would bother MORE people.
Coming from the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 inch, I find the M4 13 inch iPad Pro to be noticeably more responsive in most tasks. Most notably, the response of the Pencil Pro in handwriting is better enough that I can now take cursive notes where previously I mostly needed to write in block script. But moving the cursor around to edit text also seems more fluid. In fact, when I went into Best Buy to look at the new M4 iPad Pros, I wasn’t expecting to like them enough to upgrade from the 2018 model, which still meets all my needs. But I was pleasantly surprised.
Benjamen: I agree, the Apple pods can be unreliable. Seems like an incomplete sound solution for TV. I have never been impressed by the sound from the Sonos speakers - ever. One line of Speakers that have served me well for TV and network speakers and on the go speakers, has been Bose. The speakers sound great and perform consistently in all settings. While I like matchy matchy gear integration, Bose coupled with Apple really does it for me in sound hardware.
I noticed that you're using sihoo chair right? Do you mind making a video about ergonomic chair comparison? I'm currently in the market for a new ergonomic chair, But aren't sure of what to buy. It would be great if you could share some recommendations within a reasonable budget. Not expensive ones like herman miller..
🐬 Upgrading to the 13” iPad Pro from iPad Air. I’m excited for the new OLED display and finally having a Magic Keyboard. I use this for mainly content consumption but will be nice to use as a main device as well. M4 chip should last a long time and stay powerful!
The issue with tech reviews of an iPad is that most of the RU-vidrs are well, RU-vidrs. Not everyone works with their computer and iPad for most people is not their work device. However, that does not mean its not important. For me as a student, it is perfect. Can take written or typed notes, can search for information on the web, can store large amounts of text documents to study from. I will be graduating 1 month from now and going to work. I need a reliable computer to check and sort emails, sort photos and documents, search the web, watch web videos (I dont have a TV and probably never will), communicate with others on social media, studying to improve my work… the list goes on. An iPad with a magic keyboard is much more suitable device for this than a MacBook
The iPads are good, I think consumers/professionals would have to invest in the iPad way of working in order for the iPad to get better. Maybe if more people buy in, then developers would see a reason to do the same...???
wait why i this the first person I've heard say that apple has bad ram management .. is everyone else lying? everyone always echos that apple has amazing ram management.
Credit where credit is due, my 90 year old grandmother uses an M1 iPad Air daily. I had to setup initial accounts for apps for her, but she’s been daily using iPadOS since the iPad Mini 2. Touch ID is awful for people with arthritis and she has to use a passcode for everything, but that’s the only big complaint. In my use case however , I need terminal and disc utility. The fact that Apple music is missing all the editable features on the iPadOS version frustrates me to no end. It’s not so much MacOS that I want as much as continuity for first party apps across Apple’s platforms. Why are all the iPadOS versions of something half baked and missing features of their MacOS equivalents?
I have tried several times and never have got my 13 inch iPad over 38 watts of charging using a 140 watt power brick and a 240 watt Apple cable. I charged from below 50 percent and I charged from the Magic Keyboard and charged from the iPad Pro port. I’ve never come close to 60 watts of charging. Mine tops out at 35-38 watts every time.
WWDC24 will make or break the iPad Pro M4 for most* people. Any of the multitasking improvements will only pertain to the M series iPads (they'll be safe), but to convince people that have an iPad Pro (non-M Chip). There has to be substantial changes. I also feel like the M1/M2 will be omited from most if not all AI Features. I cannot wait for WWDC24, I want the iPad Pro 13 M4 to be my only 'Laptop'. Also, 13:47. You can use the older Magic Keyboard. But it's super jank. It's off angle. Saw a post about it.
iPad as it is currently cannot replace most peoples working computer. However, it can completely replace “home pc”. For me, I do not need anyhting more than this. And yes, I own an iPad Air and the iPad pro is completely senseless. 120 Hz? Sure, its nice, however most of the time my screen is not moving or playing 30/60fps video.
Surely they could have surrounded the camera with magnets for the pencil or found another solution for symmetry. Seems an odd concession that could have been solved with some creative design choices.
I really dislike these RU-vidrs telling us to get a Mac if you expect more from iPad. The iPad costs more than the MacBook Pro in many instances now and should be just as capable
Damn that opening music, super loud and heavily distorted … thought my speakers were ruined 😨 guess that’s what happens when you edit video on an iPad 😅
Thank you, Fernando, for the ppll asking about how to load ROMs, search it and learn the process. I just did a search and found on Redit a recommended ROM repository and will try it. You just download the rom and add them to you iPhone and use the game to open your storage to load the ROM.
