For me this is the best document camera for schools.
Which visualiser should you buy? Probably the IPEVO VZ-X to be honest! I test out the IPEVO VZ-X Wireless visualiser. Much of this review will also apply to the IPEVO VZ-R visualiser and the IPEVO V4K visualiser.
Is this the best visualizer you can buy? At this price point a would say ... watch and make your mind up for yourself!

Thank you so much for this review. I’m in the extremely vulnerable group on full lockdown until July at the earliest and have spent days faffing about trying to find a decent way of actually teaching in real time from a remote location. The VZ-X looks perfect for both school, Academy and Uni work. I’ve ordered one. Keep up the great work - the more intrinsically motivated (and the desperate as quiz deadlines loom) of my 6th form and GCSE students really do find Gorilla Physics the most useful resource out there. GorillaPhysics - Grade 9 and A* Physics It’s arrived, an exciting weekend ahead! Planning to start with a logs and exponential growth/decay info’ and series of kitchen experiments: Who has the best beer? head=decay, liquid=growth. Just a bit of hopefully useful fun with ‘How Physicists Work’ to get myself used to the iPhone/iPad/VZ-X combo (should also help with the 12-13 transition?) Docs all emailed to the Y12’s and ready to go under the visualiser. All student are expecting chaos and catastrope I’m reliably informed... no idea where they s get this from!

@@KitBetts-Masters Hi Kit, I've stumbled across my first little problem with the wifi set up. The IPEVO Visualizer software (Mac) is asking for a user name and password which are not provided? Any thoughts? I've scheduled a Wednesday morning MS Teams Conference for my plucky band of Y12's so I may need to go USB if I can't solve it. To answer your question: I'll hopefully record a few vids when I feel in control of the tech - I plan to focus physics as a problem solving tool / how develop experimental skills. There will be a strong link to German Science Academies along with A Level and IB HL stuff. Ideally it will be a series of experimental challenges with tips and lessons provided where needed.The aim will be to develop problem solving skills and not just focus on the curriculum, although this will be covered from an AO perspective. It's all wishful thinking at the moment as I'm surrounded by tech that won't speak to each other :-D. Perhaps there may be a better way to communicate? I'd really appreciate your help. Cheers, N

Hiya! Not sure about the password thing. I didn't get that in the software. Just signed into the visualisers WiFi network then it was visible in the software! Is the password on the bottom of the visualiser? At least you've got the USB as a backup for now! You can email me at kit@gorillaphysics.com if you like.

I needed something like this for a new volunteering opportunity that I am undertaking. Your video is honestly the best! You show many segments of the video actually captured by the camera. It takes more editing work but you did it anyway. Thank you so much :) I am unsure if I missed but can it be used for video streaming? I do remember you mentioning that you would use it for video streaming.

Glad to help! You can't Suresh directly from the device, but hook it up to the computer and you can stream from there!

Thanks for the review. Does this newer document camera allow you to observe an entire sheet of A4 or an 8.5x11 inch paper in portrait mode without needing to move the sheet?

Hey, have you considered using an iPad and screen sharing your work. A few of my teachers do that and it’s very clear to understand their writing.

Thanks. I do sometimes use a tablet but I don't find it fits as easily into my work flow as a visualiser does. The new iPad pros are really good though. The apple pencil is very precise.

G'day! Thanks for this helpful review. Question: My intent is to use it mainly for taking photos of 12"x12" photo scrapbook pages. Would you estimate I could get the image to fit this 12"x12" dimension and the resolution of the camera going to be decent enough for viewing (and maybe printing) some photos digitized from it? Any idea on what dpi I'd have on a photo of a 12"x12" photo page?

Hiya, this is a really great tool for educators and a brilliant way to share and record documents in industry. However as I mention in the review, as it's a reasonably small sensors camera it will not give you the very best of image quality. If image quality is very important for your artwork you are best to look for a decidcated camera with a larger sensor. The second hand market has some great options around the same price. This has so many brilliant features, like the wireless, USB and HDMI modes, which are really suited to teachers and lecturers! If you wouldn't use those, I'd suggest looking for a camera!

Hello. Does it have the capability to go direct to a tv thru HDMI to view real time art work demonstrations? I'm teaching watercolor and want to show the process on the 40" tv in the room. Will it get its power via the hdmi? Thanks

It will work, but no it won't get power through HDMI. It'll work on battery power for a good few hours. But your be wise to have a micro USB charger with you two plug in.
