To be totally honest, that battery light indicator is actually pretty genius, especially if you're in bed and your phone is on its back. You can now see whether it's charged or is almost about to flatline.

In my opinion, form = function, so are just as important...but I agree with you - most of these concept designers come out with some cool looking stuff but it would ultimately provide a poor experience. For example, sure having a touch screen on the side of the of the phone is cool, but now you have no sensory feedback for the control buttons that you can't see. For displaying information, it's the wrong angle etc etc.

If you look carefully at one part of the video the screen isn't on the back its just from the camera, and the display around the phone on the front and sides that it looks like you can see through it and it looks like it is on the back of the phone.
Not true...You could have a case with a very thin rubber or silicone lining on the side enabling the rest of the phone to be protected and still being able to use all the buttons.
Because of the low-resolution. Come on, I want them to at least have a 720p display resolution! A 1080p one will be even better! And at least increase the size to 4.3~4.5 inch.
AimlessSky The low resolution actually makes battery life better. That's why 720P phones have smaller batteries than 1080P phones yet sometimes last longer. There's less strain on the processor and GPU with less pixels to support. The low-res display is probs what keeps the iPhone having a battery longer than 7 hours. HD displays would probably last 3 hours with the iPhone's current battery size
If they can manage that they can delay screen to iPhone 7. Still everyone will buy iPhone 6 as it has something remarkable. Let there be light... battery indicator light. Patent pending.
Cool concept, but not realistic. Think about it, it will be more fragile and you would hit the buttons every time when you grab the phone from your pocket.
I love these concept videos for iPhones. It's like climbing inside the mind of an 8 year old. So cool and awesome. But ultimately wishful thinking. The next one will be the same as the last. we all know this. It's a shame but really people. We do all know this.
Precisely. We will all fumble with that feature and mixing up buttons, deleting calls coming in and all types of funky issues. But not to worry, they will make sure to tell us HOW to carry this phone normally. It just won't end. Next year's phone will always be better than the phone you have now. This will go on and on and they know that folks will buy it regardless because the phone rules everyone. We are all in the wrong business.
