I bought an IPhone 11 at the first part of October , Upgraded from an IPhone 5 LOL, I really haven't Photograph people yet but I shot some awesome landscape river photo's and Video with it, I am going back there and Photograph the river with my Fujifilm XT-2 , and do some stacked and some HDR images.
For the comparison photos, were your Cannon photos shot in jpeg? This is good timing- I have a 7 plus and have been thinking about the 11. I don't usually use the iphone settings though- mostly I shoot with the Lightroom app so I can do raw, so it's all about the lenses and aperture...
With the newer iPhones, are the images large enough to be accepted by the stock sites? When I first started stock photography, they didn't even accept phone photography.I haven't been actively uploading to the stock sites the past three years; but I'd like to start building my portfolios again. I know..... I need to review the size requirements for each stock site and see what size my phone is shooting. Are you uploading any stock photography from your phone? I have a iPhone Xr because I had no plans to use my phone professionally; and I was trying to keep costs as low as possible. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3i, but I don't carry it with me all the time. I want to upgrade to the Canon EOS 6D.
If you notice the comparison at 6:40 the photo taken by iphone 11 is brighter but the black isn't black if you notice her t-shirt and hair. I have noticed this in most of the shots taken by iphone 11 and also in the latest cameras of Samsung.
Tana Lee That would be cool! A friend has the Samsung Galaxy (not quite the newest one) and I’ve noticed how nice the videos look, even at night. But were at a garden light show and the video actually over-saturated the video. I was able to compare it to the reality of what I was seeing, and the video was over-the-top with the saturation. Pretty, but not realistic.
Hi James, I personally always take 2 lenses when I travel: the 16-35mm f/2.8 and the 50mm f/1.4. That's just me though -- I know other people enjoy other lenses. The 24-70 is quite popular for travel, but I don't own that one.
I visited iphone 7 plus camera review back the days of its release and it's quite puzzling how shoots with alike condition is different now than before.
The quality has not changed. But when a new phone comes out, people get overly excited about it and definitely depict it as better than it really is :)
Still watching but the 7+ holds up better than I expected in brighter light situations. The skin on the 11 looks a bit over done, they did the same thing with the XS but it seems they did dial it back a bit on the 11. I have a 7, 8, XS, and 11 Pro and in some lighting conditions it's really difficult to tell which is which. OK... back to finish the video. :-)
Hi Dee! Wow you definitely have quite the iPhone collection :) Yes... sometimes it goes get hard to tell the difference, especially in well-lit settings. Have a good one!
Don't be bothered with the gap between the iphone generations. I'm considering upgrading to a 11 from a 7+, and your video is exactly what I need to see how much of an upgrade I'm getting. Thank you!
This is exactly the video I was looking for!! I have a 7Plus and a Canon 90D...I'm considering the 11 promax but that's too much money! so the 11 may be an option. I do mostly video but having a phone with a good camera is always nice. The lack of the telephoto lens is a factor for sure but I would be fine without it-Medium shots -not close ups...did you find the screen of the 11 good enough? I know is not the same resolution as the 7plus! hmm...but here in Canada is $500 less than the promax.. Thanks for the video-gorgeous model in RED! my colour!
Hi Erick, I'm glad you enjoyed this! My usual phone is also a 7 Plus. Regarding the 11s: if I were to personally buy one (I'm still thinking about it), I'd go with the 11 Pro (not the Pro Max). The Pro also has the telephoto lens. But if that lens is not important to you, then the 11 is just fine. The two lenses that does have are the same quality as those two lenses on the Pro and the Pro Max. The screen of the 11 was great, just smaller than the 11 Pro Max of course.
@@NicoleGlass hey! I have too many cameras! But I do mostly videos..anything from a gigantic Canon C100 mk2 to a tiny Gopro 8! gosh! I have to stop buying toys! My iphone 7plus is a nice one-I'm still debating if I need a new iphone! in a perfect world it would be a 11pro max in red with 512GB!! That OLED screen is really good. That's a massive phone! but that would cost over 2grand Cdn...aye caramba! I I know I wouldn't use it for paid gigs but mostly personal videos-vacation etc. I'm trying to resist my urge to upgrade! How is your photography business? I do this part-time here in Toronto, Canada. Winter is almost here so a bit quieter now. Are you located in a big city? with a large latinamerican community? Lots of music and dance I hope! I have lived in Toronto for over 25 years. I think this is home...beginning to feel it! LOL!
Hi Nicole thanks for video, i have osmo pocket and go pro hero 5 black and after i begin watch your videos , i begin shooting stock photo and videos, i have little budget and im thinking buying smartphone (mine too old iphone5) or saving more money and buying a cheap dslr (i used before canon 7D and sonya6000 and carrying machine always with me so hard)? what was your offer i want to make more photo and video for stock business, thanks
Thanks -great info - Im still liking the canon where you can change lenses and do long exposure photography with different filters. However for quickness's the iPhone is a good option. Thanks again
For some reason your iphone 7 plus photos looked bad in most of those shots! Like if the lens was dirty all the time or something. Cause thr photos on my 7 plus looks amazing even in 2021
Hello Nicole! Great video! My question is can you experience distortion with the telephoto lens too? given that the telephoto lens are more or less 52mm.Thanks in advance!
The iPhone 11 does not have the 52mm telephoto lens (only the Pro versions have that). I didn't do a review on the Pros so I'm not sure how they compare. But I don't believe they have any distortion.
Great video, thanks! I was wondering why the I phone11 portrait mode only has the square screen. But, with the 7 plus, you have the full view. I use my phone for product photography (books) and I’m beginning to think that I shouldn’t of bothered. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙂
I started using a samsung note 10, and it surprises me, especially with night photography. I would like to see a comparison between iphone 11 or 11 pro, samsung note 10 or 10+ and your DSLR. One thing I can say, samsung note 10 camera is way better than iphone 11, and some photos are even better than my Nikon D7000 photos. And if you add the time spent to modify photos, then new technologies are developing in the right way. If you travel to London, we can collaborate on it. Keep doing amazing videos! I enjoy your content ;)
I don't like the way the iphone 11 makes her face look tanned in every photo, yet her hands are still white. I understand you could probably disable this feature
@@NicoleGlass you are welcome! Nicole, I was wondering what you thought about the cannon SL2 ? I'm thinking of getting a camara and seen it has 24mp and a digic 7 processor. I'm not rich, just wondering if you think that camara will do for a while. I think it's WHO is behind the camara more than the camara itself... Or the Nikon 3500... I watch all of your videos and respect your opinion!
Ew, the iphone 11 camera angle is so ugly and unflattering, it distorts too much and always makes the head appear too big. I'm currently using an iphone 7 plus and I'm definitely not going the 11 way after seeing this, I'll be saving some money and upgrading to X or XS
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t like the extreme detail the newer phones give. For some reason to me It makes people look like cartoons. And I don’t want to see all the extreme detail my wrinkles and every blackhead pore loI no thanks
Good review. You do a great job at filming and editing your videos. And, you have a innate ability of very naturally explaining things. Kudos! Still, there's something slightly off on your sound. It's not constant but there's a kind of distortion that is occuring. I notice you have what looks like a Rode microphone on your camera so you have a good quality microphone. Perhaps your audio levels are clipping or the gain is too high on the microphone, or if you are using a Canon the levels in the camera are too high (Canon's preamps are notoriously bad). Wish I was more of an expert on sound recording. There are some good channels on RU-vid that provide good info. on this.
