I just couldn't carry around another Max-sized phone, so I opted for the iPhone 12Pro and I'm still amazed! I have friends that got the Pro Max, because they wanted the "better lenses", but they whine when my photos and videos are still better. I tell them, it's because it's what I do for a living... Looks amazing! Some shots don't even look like a phone. Nice! But most of the shots still have that weird smartphone sharpening and beautifying skin smoothing stuff. For what it is, a camera with a phone attached that you have on you all the time, it's incredible.

Far and away the best review of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. You covered the features video makers want to know about, and you did it entertainingly with great production values. I couldn't agree more - you can take the 12 Pro Max out of the box and get photo and video results that would require lots of fiddling and post-processing with a DSLR.

Rebel sl2 with a kit lens and a 50mm. A Nd filter and a budget dji gimbal or a cheap steadycam! Perks over an iphone: Less price. More Dynamic Range. More control over the footage. Way way more bokeh.Lot less lens breathing. Please stop misleading beginners by suggesting an iphone over a dslr/mirrorless.

Or you could just buy a used m4/3 camera like the Lumix G85 with integrated sensorshift for 250 bucks, slap vintage m42 glass on it or adapt Canon glass an you will be at roughly 1/3 of the price of an iPhone with much better performance and value, leaving 2/3 of your money in your pocket which you can then still spend on a cheaper version of the iPhone or Android or.. just save it.

Optical image stabilization on the iPhone 12 Pro uses a gyroscope (OIS) NOT Apple software (EIS) as you indicated in your video. Sensor shift stabilization is an evolution on OIS.

It’s not logical to compare the battery life of the 12 pro max vs the 11 pro you should have compared it to the 11 pro max and in that case it’s Considered as a downgrade for the battery life only but other than this it’s an upgrade

I am considering selling my camera set-up for this. This is what I have: -Canon M50 -Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 --Canon USM III 16-25mm f/2.8 -Flycam Redking I actually know how to use my camera, equipment, and lighting extremely well, but but current phone is not compatible with my new drone and I need a new phone. I can buy this phone without selling anything but this is a pretty interesting phone that packs quite a punch and it would be nice to have more money in my pocket for other production costs as a Small You Tuber. What are your thoughts?

The reason one should go for DSLR always because it helps you analyse things in a more mature and scientific fashion. For any video to come out as cinematic you have whole lot of post production as well to deal with. Any camera with Iphone budget will give you similar output or rather better. Its the post production that matters. The only advantage i think apple has its portability as of now.

Can You use the dolby video if you shoot flat or log in filmic pro or moment for better color correction I don't see how you could really color correct if you use the iPhone settings. Appreciate an answer :)
