Oh my gosh, you are genius!!!!!! I was cleaning out my drawer and came across my old Iphone 12 and did not know what to do with it after Apple could not help. Thank you also… I have an iPhone X The method that work for me was the massage with paper towel and then volume button up down and side button and Wala. It came on. I recently also had iPad go black screen and I went through many ways to get the screen back on, but ended up going to Apple to get it looked at, and they had it back on quite quickly through their methods. I’m wondering would this method work for iPad as well.

Thank you for your help. The first solution worked. I got a message on the screen telling me I had to wait 5 minutes. As I waited, I tapped the screen and saw the phone was counting the minutes. So, when countdown was done, I was prompted to use my password to open phone. I did and I have my phone back. Thanks for the great help.
