@@fightnight14I am surprised that that the pro max is not that better and the pro max 6.7 inch display drains battery more than 5.4 inch then shut the fuck up I created technology
I have mine too. I charged it around 24 hours ago and I still have 22% left. Normal usage with 8.5hrs SOT. Tops apps are Messenger, RU-vid, Facetime. It's a big phone but the battery keeps me from returning it
Why hasn't Apple placed battery percentage in the top corner inside the battery icon indicator? So stubborn. Android has had this for the past decade now. I don't want to have a whole widget just to check battery. It could easily be integrated into the top, especially if they got rid of the ugly notch. Apple would have my money in a heartbeat if they did simple things like USB-C, fingerprint sensor, no notch, always on display
Honestly even the battery life of the SE was good enough for me, and the 12 mini is even better. I’m starting to get interested in this new mini phone...
@@ieshabunny There are lots of things in life beyond a phone screen. Friends, working etc. I dont know how people have the time to spend 5 hours a day on their phones :o
I’d get it if I were you I got it and I’ve had it fir like 2 or 3 months it’s amazing in all ways the battery will very from 4 and a half to 7 hours it really depends on a lot
I think the 11 died before the 12s because the 4k video that you were watching had a lot of blacks in it. The 12s turned pixels off there, the 11 didn't. In addition to the A14 optimizations, I think the OLED screen was a huge gamechanger for the 12s. I think this is also the reason why the 12 mini was so close to the XR.
Very impressed on your 10+ hours of battery life test 👏🏼 I was betting on the 12 Pro Max 👌🏼 I know they don’t sell the 11 Pro Max anymore, but it could be fun to see the last year flagship vs this year flagship. So a little fingers crossed for a video on the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 Pro Max 🤞🏼 Awesome video and great job Brandon 👍🏼👏🏼
keep in mind that the devices with an oled display can conserve battery life when they display darker content because they control brightness per pixel to save battery so that can increase battery by an hour or more.
That surprises me for the SE. I get over 6 hours a day of on screen time easily but it's probably because I do some light gaming and mostly just watch youtube videos at 50% brightness. Really impressive for the 12 mini. Might just look into that phone within the next year!
@Priyanka Mini is way better Overall if budget is not an issue go for 12mini! The SE lasts 2 days because I use my other phone to watch Movies and youtube!
Don't bother. I've had the 12 mini for 1 day and I'm unimpressed with the battery. I bought it becaise my old iPhone's battery was dying within a few hours. I usually watch videos and run the camera. The 12 mini is not much better than my old iPhone battery. I'd recommend the 12 or 12 pro max. I wish I'd bought the pro max but size. Oh well.
@@skowlessar4660 yeah i recently bought a 12 pro max and the battery is really good and overall performance and quality in this phone is amazing. Very premium
@@asmit551 I believe the iPhone 11 should only last a hour and 30mins tops over the iPhone XR so even though it was 95% I think it was good but again I’m only judging off the fact that the iPhone 11 died exactly 1hour after the Xr did
Hey Brandon, just a quick suggestion: I noticed you kept on playing a 4K video on RU-vid for quite a long time. But I don't think many people do that. Maybe extend the web browsing and gaming periods and stream the video at 1080p rather than 4K.
I got the 11. And omg. I spend an hour on it and it is still above 90%. I never have to charge it at day unless I’m on cal with someone for most of the day. I only charge it at night 😊
It's the "I will go to bed now for me" 😂 Reat well and have a good night sleep, Brandon! You deserve to get enough rest and sleep for being such a hard working guy! Another great video from you! 👏🏻
Been waiting for this vid, Brandon. Brilliant, thanks! Very impressed with the battery life on the iPhone 12 mini, considering how good the battery life on the XR was always thought to be and the size difference. However, the biggest puzzle has to be the iPhone 12 Pro v iPhone 12: they both have same battery size, are the same when it comes to all key factors, except RAM (Pro 6GB v 4GB) which some ‘experts’ claim the one with more RAM would use MORE battery, yet the Pro has better battery life than the standard 12. Interestingly, the 6% diff in this test is consistent with another test I’ve seen. It begs the question: why? 🤔
This reason may sound absurd but I believe I read a rumor that the 12 (only the 12) had a display from BOE so maybe the display could be less efficient than the others. Could be completely wrong but I can't think of anything else to explain that difference.
I have an XR now and have been thinking about getting the mini for the form factor. Everyone has been making such a stink about the battery life on the mini not being very long which shocks me after seeing this video. I always thought the XR battery life was great for my purposes. I checked my battery capacity and it's at 91%, which tells me if I get a mini, it should theoretically be about the same, if not slightly better battery life than my XR. Sometimes it feels like tech reviewers live in a bubble. Thanks for the amazing review!
Also think that the iPhone 12 mini will turn out a higher (albeit not by much) battery life when toggling to dark mode and keeping the brightness within reasonable viewing levels as well. If it gets 7 hours as a result, then that’s great!
@@abnertinoco675 I changed from an SE 1rst Gen to the 12 Pro Max, and yes, it felt big at the beginning, I’ve had it since the first day it came out and I can tell you I’m very comfortable with the size Just take in consideration your hands size Excellent device overall
@@m77mmdd19 yeah, it’s okay, I used some skinny jeans and others that aren’t as tight as the skinny ones and it fits okay I even went to some go karts yesterday and it fitted just right and I didn’t feel like it was going to fall or anything But when using some sport pants, shorts or any saggy clothes, the weight does feel, but it’s not a big deal tbh
Finally !! A battery test I’ve been waiting to see since the new 12s were announced - I own the XR, but I’m eyeing that Mini !! ... Love me some small minimal phone.
My Xr has a capacity of 91% it’s a awesome phone and I don’t mind the size seems perfect but I could go smaller and I wouldn’t mind it😂 I originally had a galaxy s10e which is about the same size as the iPhone 12mini but I gave it to my mom and went to the iPhone XR but now I’m tempted for that mini😏and I’ll give my dad my iPhone XR he’s using a iPhone 7+
@Harry Poter same case with me and if the battery does become or is a issue for somebody just buy a 20W brick from apple and that will solve your problem because it charges the 12mini stupid fast
@@manojm939 I like the small form factor for lightweight and reachability with one handed usage. But battery life is not great. But ok if you have screen time of 4/4.5 hours a day. Typing is difficult as the keyboard is smaller. I had it for 1 year and it was good. But now I switched to the 13 Pro, maybe I will go back to the mini phone someday if the make the battery life better and make is slightly larger and give it some more Pro features
My biggest flex is that I bought the iPhone 8+ the first day it came out and I don’t plan on upgrading soon. If I do I plan on getting the 11 pro max, when it depreciates a little more.
Hey Brandon! Great video and to invest just over 10 hours on the actual test (excluding the many hours leading up to this awesome test) helped me make my mind on choosing the iPhone 12 mini.....👍👍
I have a iphone 8 plus rn, I want a smaller phone, I don’t do too much intensive stuff on my phone (mostly soical media, browser) do you recommend iphone 12 mini?
@@depression_isnt_real well i got 12 pro max! Beacause of battery life and personally i feel 12 mini is better in terms of tech and future software updates either go for 11!
Mrwhostheboss is way, way more accurate. Setting all the phones on 40% brightness is different in all of them, it's not the way to put the same brightness, you need a special tool that checks brightness. The guy in this video for real check the phone's heat with his hands instead of a head checker and while he does that he puts the XR in home screen while iPhone 12 Pro Max is still in PUBG. The 12 Pro Max was in PUBG for like 2 mintues more then XR and that can change the battery percentage by a few percentages. I'm not saying that this video is bad or anything, just saying that Mrwhostheboss is way more accurate because he has the right tools (brightness and heat checker) and he over all does the test better.
So, the screen on time difference between 12 Pro Max and the 12 Mini is 3 hrs 37 mins. If the battery test holds good, then one can save 100's of $$$ and get the 12 Mini (will have to miss out on the telephoto lens and bigger screen).
I’d like to know the battery health of the iPhone Xr and 11 please. Thx for taking the time Brandon. It must be a right ball ache getting this done. 🙂👍🏻 Nice job.
One of the reasons the newer 12s performed better is because they are OLED. So, when the video test was going on, all the black pixels were saving battery life. There's been test done on this and OLED saves battery when they arent powered on. Which also applies to dark mode on OLED screens, they provide better battery life.
The iPhone 12 Pro has a brighter screen so when you put it on 40% brightness that’s higher than the 12 so the battery difference is probably bigger for the average user who doesn’t require a really bright display.
Tbh, the iPhone XR is still so powerful in terms of performance and battery considering that it is a 2018 model. Very impressed with the XR and no wonder why apple still sells it, it was the most sold phone a year or 2 ago!
His phone is good the problem is his phone is on a surface so when the phone starts to get a little warm so does the counter top and they just feed warmness off each other causing the phone to not cool off until the app is closed
Thanks very much Brandon you are an awesome RU-vidr just ordered an iPhone 11 black 128Gb I am coming from a iPhone 7 black 32Gb and I didn’t really need to get the 12 the iPhone 11 is still a great phone you have done a awesome video once again
Well, I think I'm not gonna be playing pupg for 3 hours straight, so imma get the 12 mini. I mean.. Such a small phone and 7 hours on-screen time is fucking awesome.
Man I don’t even play pubg😂 if anything I just play like supercell games brawl stars or clash of clans but I have a ps4 for anything else so mini here I come😏 I have a iPhone XR with 91% capacity I still get hella battery
@@viperomen914 Yee I’m the same kinda guy I don’t really like heavy fps games but most people play them so..that’s going in a interesting direction but if you play brawl stars you can invite me:) here’s my player code 809GP98YJ.
iOS 12 the XR battery was the best even with 13 it was pretty good but now it sucks i guess their are compromises to be made with updating to the latest software
Definately paid battery drain test in actual real life scenario expect simply half the battery life shown in this Worst & unauthentic battery drain test.
I am getting the mini because my phone is not my life, just a tool to message. I love the size because it’s slightly taller than the SE but still feels small and easy to touch the entire screen the screen itself feels larger still because of the new oled technology The most intriguing part about the 12 mini is more about the 12 series as a whole I am a PC nerd and I am really intrigued by their new custom chip that is in the 12s while previous models are use an Intel chip
Ok. Serious question. What did you do for 10 hours 23 mins? Did you just sit there? 😀 great efforts. Thank you v much for the video. It helps a lot. 👍🏻👏🏻
Hello did you know how I can buy the iPhone 11 Pro, because i see it on ebay but is to much money they selling it for it’s 1,150 and it’s already past like a year and I want to buy it from less than 900$ I hope you can respond and sorry for my English :) .
