great! i think this is the only review i've watched that i didnt feel like i'm being pushed to get the 13 pro. getting the 13 is a lot more practical than being set back 200$ more for 13pro features you might use just every now and then.
It's actually a $300.00 difference because pro res won't be available on the 128gb version of the 13 pro. So you need to spend $1,100.00 plus tax. That's more than 1/2 way to a 14" Macbook Pro M1. I carry two phones, ordered the 13 mini and Pro. Will be returning the Pro and ordering a regular 13, as the pro is also ridiculously heavy. The mini by the way has amazing low light photography. With both at hand most of the time, I prefer to reach for the mini and don't feel like I'm missing out on much quality wise. Also, when I go back and forth between phones, yes I can tell one has the 120 refresh rate but it's not what it's made out to be. Keep your $300 and put it towards the DJI mini 3 which is the reason why I'm keeping the 13 vs just two mini's, as it's just bit larger and easier to use with the DJI Fly app. Plus most of this ends up on social media, youtube etc.. Most don't even take the time to click on a higher resolution version of a video over the one that automatically plays or end up sending it via messaging apps that compress it anyway.
Or just turn in your old iphone, I turn in my iphone xs max 64gb for 200$ and it is just like I am buying the 13, but I am actually getting the 13 pro.
One of the best and detailed comparison I’ve ever seen because some I’ve watched they always implement the iphone 13pro but your video is the best when it comes in comparing the two phones. Keep it up. Rooting for the battery test between the Iphone 13 and Iphone 13pro. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙈
Nice comparison. One correction though: macro shots on the 13 pro series are not taken with the telephoto lens, but rather with the ultrawide one. If I understand correctly, the ultrawide on the pro series can do this because it has a better (auto)focus compared to the ultrawide on the regular 13. Also, ProRAW can be an important difference between both when it comes to photography.
Hmm...if it's true that the autofocus is the big differentiator between the two, I wonder if someday we might see upgrades to third party macro apps that try to utilize the ultrawide instead of just zooming in and using AI upscaling. Guess it'd depend on how much is Apple locking off elements of their built-in software for a "it just works!" experience vs actual hardware improvements.
Thank you for this video! I just got a 13 and while I've been loving the upgrade from a 7 I've honestly have been feeling some buyers remorse about not going for the Pro since the camera upgrade is the biggest part to me. I do really like up-close photography, and have been wondering how much more I'm than the macro I'm missing. But seeing how similar literally everything else is about the cameras despite the specs....plus remembering how absolutely massive the size of the bump on the Pro....it makes me feel much better about my purchase. Losing out on one niche feature just can't justify the cost...and the extra real-estate that can get damaged when I inevitably have an accident!
I’m not a massive camera user so the standard 13 is fine for me, The main reason for my upgrade was the 13s Battery life otherwise I would have been happy with my Xs
Same page here bud lol, on the xs and looking for an upgrade whether the 13 or the pro, but I am a really big camera fan and what I hate is that the 13 has 5x zoom but for xs is 10x zoom which is a bit degrading but I think it’s still good right
Great video , thank you for your efforts ! . I got the 13 Pro and so happy with it . for the camera , there is no big difference , i went with pro due to the 120Hz ! .
Great review Bro. I got the 13 and i'm very happy with that. I got the Huawei p30 pro before and really never use the makro or zoom mode, so it is irrelevant for me. The 120Hz are not worth the extra 300€. Greetings from Germany and sorry for my bad english
Which is better? IPhone 13 or Huawei p30 when it comes to camera? I'm planning to buy a new phone with a good camera quality but I don't know what to buy between the two.
@@FlorenzPagulayan except for the zoom and macro mode the 13 make way better and sharper photos. Even the nightmode is better on the 13. For me there is a huge difference to the p30 pro
I went with 13 due to they don’t sell pro anymore. The only thing is the camera zoom in very closely, glad to see the regular is not much difference basically the same. I don’t know how heavy it is I assume it’s similar to the 14 pro which I have held the phone weights a ton like a piece of metal 😅
Great comparison. Very helpful in making my decision to go with the iphone 13 Pro. I'm really into photography and want the best phone camera without getting a huge phone. I'm migrating from Android and the extra $200 is well worth it for me. Thank you!
what made me come to this was when i saw sportcenter upload a clip of a fan recording with a 13 and they were far away from the game and was really zoomed in and it had great quality. and it didn’t specify which 13 and i knew my 13 couldn’t do that
iPhone 13 (base) is around $860 here in India, but 13 pro starts at $1530. Whooping 650 + USD extra for few more upgrades. Nah, better to go for regular 13.
Thank you for this review. I’m returning my iPhone 13 pro for the mini only because the pro is heavy and uncomfortable to hold. I just don’t know if night mode portraits are worth the extra cost. Hopefully I won’t regret switching to a lesser camera.
nice video, im really interested in photography and videography, but i’m just a beginner and i dont want to overpay when the 13’s camera might be good enough to get started
Thanks a lot for your review, I found it really practical, and as some other guys said, you don't push people to rush in and get the pro, you explained really well which are the pros and conns and who could be the target people that could take real benefit of the differences between them.
I got my son the 13 and myself the 13 Pro because I tend to do much more with cameras. This is my first iphone, I've been an Android fanboy for...13, 14 years? I've always purchased and adored the LG V phones for the manual camera settings. Now that LG is out of the game the trusty V60 has been traded. Bittersweet! Having fun with the 13! With the Pro I have noticed over the standard 13 that there are subtle differences. You noted a lot of them in this video and I notice the similar differences I see in our phones in your video as well. The Pro tends to stay focused and produce a more detailed photo much more often. The way it processes light and images is just..."better". For me it's enough to make the difference. For my teenaged son? Nope! LOL He THINKS he needs it but really he just wants to "flex" the Pro around his friends. For anyone who enjoys photography - both looking at the photos and taking them I think they will notice a sizable difference. Thanks for the video, nice job!
In this comparison iPhone 13 takes better pictures everytime over iPhone 13 pro pictures has some weird white haze which looks bad but iPhone 13 pro takes night shots
The pros does come with pro codecs pro res pro raw. Pro res is very nice, very subdued, pro raw is very flexible. But there is also filmic pro with 10bit log, which graded looks about as good as a cinema camera, in colour tones, no substitute for pro raw, there is regular raw in procam, unless you’re doing astro, seldom touch regular raw. Seeing the regular 13 doing okay in 2x or 3x photos is enough for regular use.
Hey @TankQ, I was hoping if you could help me. I plan to start making youtube videos, mostly vlogging my uni journey, travels and a few videos detailing the city I'm going to move to. I have no experience with editing videos before. Would you say I should go for 13pro and learn how to work with ProRes / ProRaw etc, or a normal video from the 13's camera would suffice?
@@markthompson1439 oh I believe you asked the wrong guy. I’m not exactly an expert but from youtube creators I gather that they avoid pro res on iPhone as 1) storage use is big and very long to transfer over usb 2 speed. 2) maybe more work to grade or lut over. For those who do, they would use a spare iPhone, when they want the softer more natural colour roll off look and easier to work with prores. I assume default iPhone video gets you 70% there. The additional sharpness and contrast makes it less than cinema camera looking but the default dolby vision format is quite decent. iPhone 24 fps is kinda jerky, or may need nd filters to tone down the shutter speed outdoors. When taking dolby vision and editing externally might need a hdr capable screen to make sure the highlights does not get tone mapped. Also when uploading might have to check on the website for what hdr format they take. Can look at andy to video on how he edits phone videos.
@Itz Drew I did end up with the pro. My wife has the 13. I like the way hers feels better as it is more balanced. It’s a fantastic phone though, albeit a bit heavy.
@Itz Drew I have no idea. It depends on your use case. I would have been fine with the 13, but had already bought a case, a skin, and a screen protector for the pro I’d ordered, so I stuck with it. I like the telephoto lens, but I’m not sure I’m one of the people who really sees the promotion difference. The 13 is an awesome phone. If you aren’t sure, I’d save my money and still upgrade my storage on a 13.
If I’m someone who captures every moment i would go with the 13 pro 😌 but if I’m someone who captures certain moments then the 13 would be good if idc abt the display and zoom 🤔
Weird when you're showing all the "normal" photos saying there is no difference cos I'm honestly sure that every single 13 Pro photo comes out sharper and slightly more detailed than the std 13
Thank you so much! This actually just help me decide to go with the pro for all the right reasons. Telescopic and portrait mode actually mean a lot to me!
i’m about to do it today too! the main reason why im upgrading from an x to a 13 is cause of the constant overheating that happens with my X. but apparently, the 13 pro doesn’t overheat. the 13 plain one apparently, does overheat at times. what do you think!
@@TheAaronlee1996 mine has been running really smooth since i got it, but i've only had it 2 days lol. i'm loving it! it's really up to you, i don't think you can go wrong with either one, i just wanted to save a little money!
I feel screwed over by Apple with the basic Iphone 13 compared to the 13 pro. 13 pro has all the next gen features while the 13 is nearly an upgrade over the last few iphones
what is it call when you're on a FaceTime call and you check another app while on the call but the person you're on the call with video doesn't is no longer on the screen? I always have to end the call and callback to recover the video. I hope this made sense, like the tab isn't able to reopen
I got the silver iPhone 13 pro max in the 128gb storage. I did an unboxing and set up video on my channel! Anyone that gets this phone will love it. I came from the 11 pro so this was a nice upgrade.
if you can tell the difference means there are differences. u could not keep saying no much difference if the differences are not important to you but might be for the others
I mean, just because there are hardly any differences doesn't mean they have to the biggest of them. at this point its just being picky with certain features you want your cameras to have vs overall quality of the pics, which are the same.
Nice. I see you went to Niagara falls and Liberty State Park in new Jersey . I been to those in 2017 by the way. Those places are great. Also do you think you think you will do a iphone 13 pro max vs pixel 6 when that comes out.
Have you taken any pictures at a concert? With stage lighting and all….everyone’s phone around me always seems to take better pix than whatever phone I have at the time. I have an 8 plus and wanting to get one that takes great concert pix.
Even Redmi 3C camera is digital challenging it's 13pro camera, A new user and got to discover iPhone do not get the best camera notwithstanding the price
Hello everyone I would be pleased if you could share your opinion on my perspective. Currently I have 4-5 years old iPhone 7, I’m planning on upgrading - I need to choose between 13 or 13 pro. I think it’s important to tell that I won’t change phone in next 5 years at least Cheers
Hi. I need recommendation, I mostly take pictures for events and sometimes it’s night events like birthday dinner. Is the iPhone 13 video quality in the night the same as pro?
