I had both and returned the Pro Max. I miss the battery life, which was 1-3 hours more than the Pro, but the difference between 2-4.9x on the Pro vs. Pro Max was evident like in this video.

I have a year old 14 Pro, my normal upgrade is every 2 years. I was tempted to break that cycle because of the camera improvements on the 15 Pro which are significant and I’m not heavy into photography but you only get those moments one time. I’m going to hold off until the 16 Pro that’s slated to get the 5X camera, I prefer the standard size phones. Actually my pipe dream is a iPhone Mini Pro

I think the 15 Pro Max got a huge Upgrade with the ability to shoot in Log. But to be honest a Sony a6700 is way better if you really focus on Photography & Videography and is in the same Price Segment too. What would you recommend?
Honestly I think if you want photgraphy and vídeo and if you already have a phone then it really is a no brainer. The a6700 is just so much more capable at what it does, with so much more versatility.
My friend, I’m upgrading from the Iphone 7 to the 15 pro in blue titanium ( always wanted a blue iphone), arrives tomorrow! I’m thinking about buy some shiftcam lens for photos and video.

One of the best 15 reviews I’ve seen. I’m a 13 pro user eventually I’m going to upgrade to a white 15 pro. I still like my 13 but one of the reasons I’ll upgrade is that I hear that the 15p is lighter… the one thing you didn’t mention.
I’m not a photographer but my 15 pro max is giving me blurry and graining images that I’ve never noticed on my previous 12pm phone. I’ve tried every setting and combination with out a solution. Have you heard of this issue? I wish I had me 12pm back
Awesome review, it’s like you say it’s a substantial enough upgrade. Although for me it’s always a big upgrade 6s+ > 11 pro max which I am still rocking. Got a 256 GB version which unfortunately was a waste of money because I still only used 56 GB on the phone. I even have an Apple refurbished one which I was given as a replacement for my original faulty 11 pro max. I heard they tend to survive longer than the OEM ones. Might get a 17 or 18 in the future. Currently looking forward to M3 💻
Wow! You have used only 56GB of local storage? Serious question, not trolling… for what activities do you use your iPhone? I'm guessing that you don't watch movies or TV on your iPhone (or, if you do, you stream them). My usage must be diametrically opposed to yours. This is the first year since the iPhone 6 that I haven't updated annually. Prior to this year I've always purchased the largest iPhone with the greatest amount of local storage. I was expecting to buy a 2TB iPhone 15 Pro Max but when that storage tier didn't arrive, I opted to skip this year. I have a large library of TV & movies stored locally alongside quite a large amount of audio plays and audiobooks (on both the Books & Music apps). I have had to savagely "curate" (i.e. delete) my locally stored content to avoid running out of storage. There have been at least five or six rounds of removing episodes of beloved TV shows to make room for an ever expanding library of audio plays and pre-ordered movies.I gained a much better understanding of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part I (compared to my initial viewing in the cinema) when I downloaded earlier this week to watch on my flight from Denver to Chicago. Without the curating, my iPhone local storage would have been nonexistent. Even after a recent round of curation I only have 58.24GB available of 1.02TB of local storage. Three weeks ago I got an error message telling me I didn't have sufficient storage to add another photo… I was at 1.02TB of 1.02TB storage utilised. I have no idea how others don't fully utilise their local storage.
@@thomashrubecky1663 yep it’s like you wrote my usage is dramatically opposed to how you use your iPhone. I don’t download movies or series in my iPhone directly unless it’s via Netflix or Apple TV. I don’t even run two subscriptions at the same time. Whenever I download something I watch them, then delete them, then I download something new if it’s necessary. As for music, I listen via Spotify as I never got to check Apple Music as there was no free trial until recently. From my previous experience I’ve learnt that two things can take up a lot of space unknowingly. Photos and system updates, which completely used up my 16 GB iPhone 6s Plus storage. So this time around I got the 200 GB iCloud+ sub so that I can exclusively keep my photos there so no photos on the internal storage either. When I bought my iPhone 11 Pro Max I had two things in mind, I knew I am probably not gonna upgrade anytime soon and I really wanted to learn photography through iPhone which is why I initially opted for 256 GB, but it was during the Covid era so that didn’t happen and I got busy as well. So the next time I get an iPhone I’ll probably get something that is lower than 256 GB but I still will keep it at 3 digit storage, 128 should be enough imo.
I loved your video, super enlightening and it cleared up most of my doubts regarding the non-MAX version. But I have a question, which is, I use my cell phone mostly for social networks, Spotify, mail, streaming... video games are not my focus at all and I'm not an aggressive camera user, I just use the camera more when I'm going to travel. Do you think the non-MAX version of the Iphone 15 Pro is sufficient for my use without having problems ending the day without a battery? I'm asking this question because I'm a big fan of the smaller size of the 15 pro compared to the MAX version and I even prefer the 3x zoom instead of the 5x, but I'm afraid that the battery won't keep up with my use. 8:15 so default is 24 megapixel, then what mega pixel is Heif Max ? And does it still apply all Apple auto processing at max size, since I know pro raw doesnt?
▪︎▪︎▪︎ To be honest, I didn't keep the 15 series. But my friend has a 14 Pro Max and I used it a little bit and frankly it is not ergonomic at all. Not suitable for one-handed use (in my opinion). I am using A73. It has a 6.7 inch screen like the Pro Max, but it is very comfortable and lightweight. By the way, I also used the S23 Ultra and it is comfortable in the hand, even though it is large. In short, I am on the SAMSUNG side in general.
It's nice to see Apple finally catching up with the zoom. But I like more the 3x zoom, the 5x for me is a no go, there's too much range where the zoom is completely digital and I don't like that. I would like apple to take an approach just like Samsung did, 0.5x, 1x, 3x, 10x. But with the max on 5x the 10x is a nice gimmick but I've been using the s22u for over a year and I have never give it a lot of usage
I’m really surprised all the photographer content creators aren’t using the Samsung S23 Ultra since it has the Pro features. One thing I love on my Samsung is the Pro menu. I have both an iPhone and Samsung.
I thinking about upgrading my Iphone Xs to this as my main youtube camera. I mainly shoot sit down shots like the one in this video. Do you recommend upgrading or should I buy a mirrorless instead?
Lucky you @Oliur my on the contrary update to the 17.03 was a hell nightmare, just taking 5 photos or 1 minute call the phone get hot as it was charging with a fast charger, also some screen retention, that people of ZDNet talk about this.
I got the pro, usually go with the max but decided to try a smaller size. So far it's easier to use but I miss the bigger screen. Obviously either way it's a compromise, depending on what you value more.
15 pro !! What they do with processing of your photos if you are into photography is insane . On paper both might have 48 mp but when you look comparison in person is really different according to me

I am so sick of hearing so-called reviewers calling it 5 'ecks' as if they really didn't understand that it's the multiplication symbol.
all your lithium battery needs to lose 5% of its ful capacity is ... one instance of overheating. heat damage from high temperature is irrepairable. you will notice that about 6 months from now when your phone suddenly loses it battery capcity so quickly
